CAUTION, this video is unintentionally ambiguous and misleading , you will learn the wrong words. For example, date is translated as going out on a date and not as in today's date. Iron is translated as a clothes iron and not as in strong hard metal. Square is translated as a town square and not as a geometric shape. I found a total of at least eight misleading cases only after 38 minutes of listening. I am sure there are plenty more. Suggestion - always add context to ambiguous English words such as glass, as in drinking glass, glass such as window glass, glasses such as reading glasses. Thank you for your hard work.
this is kinda my issue. I have been trying to learn spanish off and on for about a year or so. I have used Duo, Memrise and Babbel. At this time i know a TON of vocabulary. Just words, but actually speaking and putting those words into working sentences is hard to learn from apps and watching videos like this. I love watching Butterfly Spanish. She explains things very well.
@@dersupra you are at a point where you need to take a few words such as as to go and to be (ser and estar), and conjugate the crap out of them using Google Translate. Then physically write these phrases down and keep doing it UNTIL YOU CAN GUESS what the translation will be. Why? Because you know a ton of words but I bet you can't say simple stuff such as I went, I should go, I will be and she could go. Talk to Google Translate and keep writing down simple translations until you don't need Google anymore. I went home. She should be here by now. Two weeks went by. I went by your house. Jimmy went home. I could be sick. I should be at work. These simple drills will improve your Spanish much more than knowing how to say a thousand words which you cannot link together. Concentrate on the past, then on the future because normal conversations flow that way. I was home. I will be working tomorrow. The present tense is the least used but it is also the easiest. Read your notes and abuse Google translate until you cannot be surprised by the translations.
@@MrTalkingzero yeah i am right at that point and thats exactly what I'm starting to learn how to do. That is very good advice. Thank you. like I said I watch Anna alot from Butterfly spanish and she has whole videos on all the different verbs and conjugations. It's really helpful. I also try to just drown myself in the spanish lang. by watching shows and listening to podcasts. That really helped me learn to slow the language down and pick the words apart. I think the speed of the language is intimidating at first. th-cam.com/video/BFmmvdANZl0/w-d-xo.html

Hola amigos!
As of today I know 607 words in Spanish but I feel like I may only be able to read Spanish instead of speaking it fluently because I have no one to practice with 😫
The amazing thing is that when I took Spanish 1 in HS, almost none of these words were even covered. We had to recite the Lord's Prayer, but there was little vocabulary. That's 1/2 of the battle. If you know how to connect words together into sentences and the vocabulary, then you can get it! Our Spanish teacher was a very nice lady, but did very little vocabulary! Looking back, it was almost a waste of time!
So is this (a waste of time). There is no rhyme or reason, no order, and no context at all! Some words could be nouns or verbs, depending on context. How would a beginner know this? For beginners, this is potentially very confusing. And I don't see how a good third of the words in the first couple of dozen would be important to most beginners. I mean, buitre? Cisne? Mongolia? (No offense intended to anyone from there.) But come on: there is a lot to be desired here.
This may be a cultural question, and I mean no disrespect to anyone. But in what context would one use the phrase "cousin brother" in the Spanish language? Thank you.
Please guys don't torture yourself with learning these words. Get a frequency dictionary instead, or try comprehensible input learning, the TH-cam channel Dreaming Spanish is really good.
Really not that useful. I agree with the comment that it would have been good to include the masculine/feminine articles. It also would have been helpful to include the part of speech. It's confusing by not including it! For example - when "Watch" came up, I thought it would be "Reloj". But they translated it as "ver". So, they should have given "To Watch", so we would know to respond with a verb! Lastly - there is no organization to this. I don't like how it's totally random. The words should be organized by themes, like "colors" or "animals".

@@dersupra thank you for your comment, friend! It's great to hear how people progress.

It would be more helpful if the masculine/feminine articles were listed for the Spanish words. But something is better than nothing.
Don't call it "must know" and then roll out a bunch of totally random unrelated words. Urchin? Vulture? Mongolia? No, not must know.
😅😅
Yes, this!
come on, when the title is 1600 you know there will be words you DONT ever need to know.
And that's only the first 3 minutes 😂😂 I think it is for if you are applying for a zoo related job in Mongolia!
Great video. Its annoying to listen to the advertisement for the website multiple times in the video when I pay for TH-cam premium to avoid ads
1 or 2 ads would suffice
words that people actually use daily or weekly! I have not used urchin or vulture more than twice in my life!

What is the difference between Esposo and marido?
North Korea, yes. We do have the random urge to talk about North Korea in Spanish.
Now I’m hearing my classes
really thought you were gonna make her say all 1600 words
did she even say ONE word?
Hi there, i guess escapen is a spanish word. I want to know what does it mean? Please explain me in English if that's is possible.
Get a span/eng dictionary and your wiil remember it/a little work on on your part and it will go a long way.
Meeting - junta
Guess North Korea is a big topic on conversation in the Spanish language

It’s not free. I signed up and you want to charge $1 then $25 a month. You should say that in the description instead of saying free lifetime account
You can call me and I won't charge you a damn thing
Trying to absorb
