I noticed that when 'The' is followed by a word beginning with a syllable, you linked both words with an imaginary 'y'. It'd have been nice if you have explained it.
Since it is THE most frequent word in American.., I heard you saying it.
English born and bred, always lived in. I did not even realise that I was doing that! it's true - we do say thee when the next word starts with a vowel!!!! in all my days i've never even seen this written down or mentioned and all my friends are from different countries so I thought i would have come across this by now! wow. I say it very mildly as thee but not like Shakespeare's theeee...just a very slight change from the to thee, as i say I didn't even realise i was doing it. If you want to say the internet without saying thee it is still find and wouldn't be noticed, it just is less comfortable in the mouth. It's quite common to say vowels with a little 'croak' on the throat or just very dry- like but can sound a tiny bit german or child like depending on how it comes out so yeah, you can say a gentle thee so slide into the vowel more easily - well spotted ! People from spain always sound like they take a really big THe, with the tongue much further out - it sounds much softer. Which is fine and of course I like it because most people like to hear accents - accents are lovely. But i'm just sharing that incase someone is trying to get rid of their accent, for whatever reason. A few of my friends have tried hard to get rid of their accent - I dunno maybe that's what you do when you live in another country but I like accents and love the spanish accent. :-)

I remember my teacher saying many years ago that THe should be used when you're singing. At least that's only what I recall, but over the years I've noticed that just about everyone use THe and I was using THEE. Your video was very helpful. Thank you.

Spelling is just as important as pronunciation. At the 1:37 mark it should be "internet" not "ineternet."

Hi Haddar. It's a very interesting observation about the ''the'' pronunciation.
There are some others words that I would like to understand when and where to use them. For exemple: the word ''behind''. I have heard in some situations, people say it as ''beehind'', and others as ''bahind''.(with '''a'' sounding like ''AmericA'' maybe it might be a reginal tendency to speak, like an accent or something. He left the soldier behind...
Another word is the indefinite article ''a''. Some people say it just like an ''a'' (as AmericA) and others say it as ''a+ee. aee horse, aee man, etc.

I think it is a good explanation, but why does it sound different for vowels like: "The USA", the sound of letter "E" in "th(e)" is like the "E" in Emma. I don't know if I made myself clear.
Yes, you're clear. But I have never heard it pronounced as theh (eh as in red) by native speakers, don't even think it's an option for them.. Maybe thuh (uh as in cup)?

Although 'one' begins with a vowel letter, it actually begins with a w consonant! Wun... so the rule applies
