    A con you mentioned is, "Not as many features as other camera slings we've tested". So can I please know the "others slings" (aside from peak design) so I can also check them out.

    Great review. Bought the Instinct pro camera sling 6l at the end, with more detailed organisations and sleeker look.

      @@PackHacker2 Rebecca, I really like the small pockets at the front section and the top interior section of the Instinct bag. I can organise my accessories like filters, SD cards, cables and batteries there like a tech organiser. The moisture-wicking fabric of the shoulder strap and back panel is very smooth and comfortable. Although the shoulder strap is not thick, but the wave shape cushion can really absorb the pressure on my shoulder. The most impressive is how light the bag is. Even it’s bigger than my previous camera bag, it is still a lot lighter. The water bottle pocket is a lifesaver during hot days. After using for a few months, it still hold the shape. Not a single scratch left on the bag. The only con is that it can hardly fit my 11” iPad with the case. It takes some time for me to do that.

      The Instinct Pro Camera sling tappers more than the the Peak Design Everyday Sling 6L and the Moment Rugged sling 6L is more boxy so easier to pack right into the corners. The Instinct is 7 litres but looking at the reviews possibly holds less due to the tapering sides.
      The pockets on the Instinct Pro Camera sling are small, flat with no dimension and will not hold a wallet or passport. They barely hold a credit card or a credit card size multi-tool. The SD card and battery pockets are inside another pocket that is behind another pocket. They do hold the odd cable and perhaps earbuds but not much more. If packed with tablet, keyboard, camera and a couple of lenses then access to everything is tight and I struggle to get the tablet out.
      Until you try your own gear it is difficult to see which of these three bags would be the most practical carry.

      @@romank3447 Hi, what is your usual camera + lens combo you use in it? How comfortable is to pull out/insert your camera with lens attached from/to the sling?

    After 3 years I'm wondering if they will make a version 2, parts of it feel like a prototype that could be improved - would prefer a way to secure the zippers when not in use, add a water bottle holder, have a better divider system, better back padding & a revised strap. I'm not completely convinced apart from the capacity and X-Pac material - Peak Design wins in most areas apart from having waterproof fabric for heavy rain

    Can you do a comparison of this and the peak designs 6l sling?

    • @BrianHallmond
      @BrianHallmond 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ive got the 6l. What I ldont like is that it's front pocket is too tight. I look at that as the quick asscess pocket. I have notebook no longer than my phone and a bit thicker and it's just a pain to get it out.
      From what I can see in the video it's got a lot of room to pull that front pocket open so you can easily take things out. The Peak design it's annoying squeezing your fingers in.

    I'm still not seeing any reason why should I pick this one over Peak design 6L?

    • @digitalvizun5678
      @digitalvizun5678 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had both and had to return the moment. The way the bag sits after putting your gear in the bottom corner digs into my back and becomes annoying after a while. I do like the way the moment opens, it's easier to get my camera in and out of. There's more space and more secure with the shoulder stabilizer strap and distributes the weight better than the PD. The PD is a little tight, but is more comfortable when on my back and has a place for the captue plate.

      The peak design front pocket is too tight and it's annoying trying to get your fingers into get something out. The moment definitely beats Peak in this regard.

      I have the white X-pac. The pockets are good for SD cards and spare batteries but none fit the small USB battery charger or hold a wallet or earphones. The pockets are small holding a credit card or cable but not much more. The Front pocket can hold wallet or a mobile phone unless you put that in the tablet pocket at the back. When using the large dividers they push into the space wanted for a tablet. With a camera and lens and a spare lenses (18-200mm power zoom) getting things in and out are a struggle. It holds a lot but the tapered size reduce the practical volume. There are better straps. The clips work but the padding for a 7 litre should be greater. The carry handle is good. Until you can bring your gear to the Instinct Pro Camera Sling, the Peak Design Everyday Sling and Moment Rugged Sling it is difficult to see which is better in use for you. The Instinct is the most expensive before shipping and import duties.

      @@geraldmcmullon2465 Here’s my thought after using my Instinct Pro Camera Sling X-Pac Black for 7 months. I fit my filters, cables, batteries, ear buds, keys, etc into the small pockets, so that i dont need to dig into the bag or bring a SD card case for them. I can put both my wallet (about1.5 inch thick) and my iPhone 11 Pro Max at the front pocket together with some SD cards, a pen, 1-2 batteries, travel cards and credit cards as it can expand a bit outwards without using the main compartment space. (My PD’s front pocket can only fit my iPhone) The dividers just function like my PD 6L. Both bags have difficulties to fit in the 11” iPad if all gears are fully loaded inside. It can grab and fit my my Sony A7III and 2 medium lens quite easily with some spare spaces for snacks. I really like the size as I dont carry too many gears in my sling. The best thing for Instinct is the water bottle pockets and bottom straps for tripod, so I dont need to carry my backpack around for those. I use it mainly as my go-to bag, or a tech organiser when I carry my big backpack as there are a lot of small pockets for organisations. The Instinct strap is thicker and better pressure absorbing than my PD 6L and the moisture-wicking fabric is a lot more comfy than the normal mesh, so it’s a big upgrade for me as I sweat quite a lot. The carry handle is also moisture wicking, so it’s very comfortable to hold onto and not dangling like the Moment Sling. The handle feels strong when I used to take the bag in and out from my backpack or suitcase. For pricing, given the X-Pac fabric is made in US and quite famous in outdoor bag categories. I wanted a X-Pac bag for some time, but they are all so expensive. Instinct is probably the cheapest of all and the first camera bag built with it. Therefore, I didn’t think twice when I saw the Instinct bag. After using for 7 months, the fabric is really tough and not a single scratch left on it. I like they put the X-Pac fabric all around the whole bag, while most of the other X-Pac bags only use it at the front for style. The X-Pac is actually famous for its lightweight, abrasion and tear resistant and durability, so it will be a waste if it is mixed with other fabrics. All in all, every bag had its own advantages and disadvantages. I still love the strap adjustment and divider of my PD 6L, while the organisations and materials are great for the Instinct 7L. Lastly, I just dont like the boxy look the moment sling and feel uncomfortable and heavy to carry although It may be able to give a bit more room, I need more small pockets instead.

      @@heungson7606 Thank-you for your detailed reply. Very useful. I appreciate the Instinct X-Pac Pro Camera Sling more from your long term use.
      My power zoom is 9cm x 10cm and 12 cm long. But even the camera's 7.4mm height makes packing with a tablet in place hard. Carrying just camera and small 16-50mm zoom there is plenty of room for tablet (no keyboard) and mobile phone, wallet etc.
      When I upgrade to A6600 or next month's model they are larger.

    It's a nice bag, a nice alternative to Peak but they made a huge mistake, they didn't put a tab on the sides where you could attach a Peak Design Capture Clip, I assume that's because they didn't want to acknowledge Peak but they should have, being able to put my camera on the outside of my Peak sling is awesome and I won't ever have a sling where I can't do that. What Peak and Moment are both missing is a zip out water bottle holder on the outside, don't need anything fancy or huge, but a zip out mesh water bottle holder would be fantastic.

      dont need a tab. its called a clip for a reason. it literally CLIPS onto any strap. Works just fine on my $15 fanny pack from walmart. why would it not work the same on this sling? I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with them not wanting to incorporate peak items. how many other sling bags out there use peak tabs? hmm? hundreds.
