What a well-curated selection of shots, from the majesty of the cascades to the nature details you observed along the way. I hadn't even realized there was a national park there, despite having traveled often through the suburbs north and west of D.C. There must be three times as many National Parks now as when I was a kid.

I am real used to mud in the UK but surprised you had so much mud over there. I loved the falls, real force of nature and you did real well, hiking 11 miles in those muddy conditions. Take care, cheers Alan

Was it from a hurricane or just a ton of rain? That difficult run trail evidently floods a bunch from the Difficult Run Creek overflowing all the time.

Starting out that's an awful looking trail. Made me dizzy crossing those rock steps. Awesome river shots.
Senior Hiker 77 5 miles of that on the way in & back. Soggiest, muddiest, slipperiest hike I’ve ever been on. But it was an ADVENTURE that’s for sure!
