Well done. This channel is fast becoming a great resource for us TFers. The good availability of cheap parts, often reconditioned ones like this, is what makes the F/TF a great hobby car.
Brilliant Craig. Thanks very much. The bolt by the oulley has fallen out of mine. How I have no. Idea. Thanks for the video. Helped me understand it. I see as well as the bolt I am missing a spacer. Cheers 🍻
Glad you got it sorted ... good guy ole Graham... he helped me out with lots of stuff, when I started recommissioning my own Mg I had the galvanised subframes off him and I have become friends I hope to take my car up to see him in a little while as a but of a run out to put some miles in it .. good video , be careful doing things for speed purposes I find things break easily at speed and end up costing more ... keep the videos coming hope to meet up at some stage for a chin wag .
With those three bolts under the sound bar, I have a small lathe and I reduced half the threads down to the roots, that way I can drop them into the cover and there is less turning to get them tight.
Congrats on your prediction of the time to get the job done. Whenever I attempt that, it usually takes ten times the predicted time for whatever reason.😂
Hello again I think I may of called you greg I stead of Craig sorry about that but nice to see you tackling the faults and of course winning keep up the good work summer is coming well maybe for a couple of weeks if we are lucky😇😇😇
No worries Paul, it's been a nice weekend so starting to feel like summers approaching. Still loads to do, but it'd be nice if it was road legal so I could enjoy it as I work on it. 👍
Ho yes summer the sun in a blue sky the wind through your hair a big grin on your face and flys stuck in your teeth. L.o.l keep going only the old cat to sort out then off you go and suddenly everything's worthwhile 😇😇😇
Great! today dropped the front subframe on my TF, I am changing the front upper suspension bushes, stupid design to say the least, great car to drive huge fun but dam the design engineers need to made to maintain the cars, it would be a different story then.
Sounds like you like hard graft, I hope it went well. That's the thing with us designers, great at design but not so much thinking of how it will be operated or maintained.
Craig, when you say your Wife is on her way home and will want to bend your ear about her day, don't you mean your Wife is on her way home and will go mad if she catches you messing with that car again?
It was, didn't get everything else back together.... but it was. Don't forget I had it out already when I did the cam belt so knew the lay of the land.

Thanks for the nice comment, not sure following my advice is advised, but I guess you guys can feel my pain....
Nothing more British than extending the life of an MG in the 1 thing we all dread rain

Very welcome

Cheers Phil, yeah he's great and I think going to be someone I see a lot.
Well done Craig like watching 60 minute makeover 😂😂
That might be a good title in the future.... 👍

Good idea, I might have a quick go with a file. There has to be a better way of licking this down quickly.
Timely need to fit new alternator and i had forgot where the bolts spacers and brackets went so your video is a great help
... great, I hope it goes well. Im slowly working my way around the whole car so stay tuned.
I’ve had to change my alternator 3 times and each time enjoyed it. They do an uprated rose joint tensioner kit which is worth looking into.
.... the times, have you diagnosed why it keeps failing.
Good to hear you're enjoying it though.
these are beautiful motors - it looks very British
It is, which is both a pleasure and a curse!!!

.... me to normality, but I'd had this off before for the cam belt job so nice and easy.
Nice job, 30 minutes is good going
Yeah thanks.... and slightly stressful to film in parralle.
Great work.
Thank you! Cheers!

Well done Craig, not quite F1 time but pretty good. 😂
... probably quicker than McClaren currently...😀

Well done 👍

..... wow, you must have met her, this is more accurate than you might jest. 😀
No way that was 30 minutes, sorry
