Tom Chaplin, you're music is spectacular, it has inspired me tremendously, because the lyrics are emotional and meaningful, really hits you at the centre of the core. This song ' still waiting' is one of my many favourites :)
To me, this video is somewhat dreamlike...I interpret this as him in a “nightmare” of sorts...with the “nightmare” being addiction, and his hand/arm motions representing being trapped, trying to wake up from it-permanently. I do also love how his likeness is manipulated to look like there are four of him-three versions of him representing being trapped in the throes of his addiction, and his original self scrambling to figure out what to do and how to permanently fight and end his addiction, which I am glad he has really done, as the end of the video, to me, represents him finally waking up from the nightmare, what with the black background fading into white, and now only the original Tom is seen, and not the three visual “manipulations”.
I do. And I'm still waiting... Last single from Keane which I really liked (like nearly all the rest of them since the beginning) was Disconnected, and it was half a decade ago! This one's solo single is not bad IMO, like 2 or 3 more songs on Tom's solo album, it's his voice which does the trick. I might sound boring, but I do miss Tim's written melodies (from the debut up until Strangeland), another thing, I didn't really like Keane's new song for the movie... Though I'm still waiting and believe in Keane like for all the past decade!;)
