Keane is still with us in 2024. Saw the band in Berkeley CA and what a beyond awesome night, packed arena! Tom in great voice, great energy! Love this man and his band and I am 74 years old
This song resonates so much in me🥺🥺. Even though i did not face his problems, i kind of feel identified with his isolation and depression issues. And it is good to know that he has remained clean and sober for quite a long time now. And it is sad to know that when he had that almost deadly relapse, he was still taking other drugs, and not thinking about himself. But he found his way out of that, and things seem to be much better for him now, and therefore for his beloved ones, including his friends, who before being band mates, are friends. It takes courage to be open about these struggles, and to so sadly yet so beautifully put some of those feelings in these songs.
If you know about Tom's struggles with depression and drugs, and then being clean for years only to turn back and relapse on them in anticipation of this solo album, you can really appreciate this song.

I love Tom Chaplin. I think this how a lot of people with mental health issues feel, me among them. There is a lot of guilt associated with having mental illness, including substance use disorders. This song makes a lot of sense given Tom's history with cocaine and depression. There is also the hope of getting better. I think he is doing a lot better now.
This is such a beautiful song with a good and deep meaning that speaks to me. I feel like Tom's voice will always help me through sad and hard times, but will still remind that my life is wonderful during good times.

I love the melody in all the songs by Tom Chaplin. Its a different sound, in fact the violins add a lot , a lot of soul to the songs. When he sings 'Something real, something real...' O my! fetches the heart.....
He has got to be one of the most charming musicians around, a lovely emotional light voice, such meaningful writing, he doesn't hide the fact his hair is grey, and he makes real beautiful natural videos with landscapes and nature to accompany his wonderful genuine songs, what a great human he is, best of luck Tom.
I love this song.
I love how he reminds himself with this song that "IT'S SUCH A BEAUTIFUL WORLD" and he must not take it for granted or leave it behind (to the point of taking drugs or alcohol) because of some kind of sadness.
"HOW I WISH THAT I WAS NOT - HURTING EVERYONE I KNOW..." - those people who disliked this video most probably don't know how vulnerable he made himself expressing these words, he is litterally pouring out his soul, displaying his flaws.
Also the confession "I DROVE [MY HEART] TO THE POINT OF MADNESS JUST TO FEEL" makes me wanna cry everytime.
