"Not everyone can or should be saved..." Truth and everyone should have this conversation with their loved ones that are elderly. most likely those patients do not want to be on a ventilator for weeks at a time until they die.
I worked as a CNA for six months before I left because I realized we are pushing food, drugs, and water down elderly peoples throats prolonging death. they're truly suffering living well past a good quality of life.
@@krystadowney3686just know that not all homes are like that. I’ve worked places where we keep them living comfortably for as long as they have quality of life and after that we keep them comfortable while they transition on to whatever is next. It really should be about quality of life not quantity of life
I’ve seen a lot of people die as a medic and an RT (respiratory therapist) and not one death is the same. You don’t get used to it but you learn to cope with it. I completely understand where they are coming from and the feelings they have when they watch someone die. I was a medic and an RT for about 15 years between the two and I’ve seen 2 children die and countless adults. Some were stable and we thought would do well and some we expected. Selling your horse is not what you want to hear when you are laying there trying to get your feeling back in your leg and arm. The horse spoked it natural. She lost her balance and did not stay on. Do not blame the horse. It can see and hear better than we can. Mom needed to say get better so she could ride again. You fall off you get back on. I hope she gets use back. I hope she just bruised her nerves. Takes time to heal
I came here for this comment. They act like the horse was evil or had some agenda. No, he was being a horse, he operated on instinct. Animals are tapped into so much more information than most humans, they handle it effortlessly on a daily basis while we've mostly lost touch with our ability to process it at all. Who knows what spooked the horse? Answer: The horse does. The fact that the mother and daughter were so ready to discard the animal tells me they haven't been in touch with their own natural intuition--or compassion--in quite some time and, frankly, should reconsider a lifestyle that gives them any power over animals. Perhaps they could funnel their equestrian budget towards therapy of some kind before a grandchild is taught the same prejudice. May that horse find a loving connection with a skilled and sympathetic rider.
It’s crazy how you guys are so quick to judge the situation off of one incident who knows the horse’s background or what he may have done previously to make them draw to that conclusion so just try to be a bit more understanding and realize that mom is simply doing what she thinks is best for her child and that’s what really matters in the end she simply said sell the horse NOT slaughter it
Exactly. They needed to let her heal and definitely, they should’ve thought about her mental and spiritual healing, selling her horse, probably didn’t help with the mental healing.
However, the horse is not reading this and won't be hurt by the conversation. However, the mum, barely holding it together for her child who might be paralyzed, might be reading this. And if I were her I'd find your insensitive comment extremely hurtful.

Destiny was such a good boy and did really well to have such a sharp bone in his tonsils. It’s more bizarre that he doesn’t have a gag reflex but that’s a good thing I guess
My daughter is a RN at a nursing home, and she has said many times, “It was his time to go” or “She needed to go” or “I gave them the easiest death they could have”. At first I thought that was an awful thing to say, but after hearing their stories, I understand it now. It takes a very special person to deal with death, and I know I’m not one who could. God bless those who do.
Destiny is the most adorable patient I have seen in this show ever, what a delightful little kid! It was funny, all of a sudden I realized that when the doctors were pulling the fish bone out of his tonsils I was opening my mouth just like he had done... 😆
It saddens me to see others go through it especially if they are in the healthcare industry. I couldn’t imagine being in their shoes. But compassion is key for survival. Always pray for your sanity to get through the next failure. It’s inevitable. It happens. But this show shows the commitment and their human side. Thank you everyone for your sacrifice to help the I’ll.

I wish the Doctors & Hospitals in North America were like you guy's. Really they are so rude, and act like we are such a nuisance. Its rather a bother, which makes you not want to go. I would rather die than go to hospital. Thank You for being so kind to your patience. You guys are great.!!!!!!!
We have free healthcare here in uk and Australia does too ❤️( Australian ER is brilliant to) North America and America are after the money just wanna treat you and give you the bill ASAP 🤷♀️
I’ve had my life saved in ER here in Georgia, sepsis in my gut, and in a small hospital in Texas with only a doctor on call and a nurse on duty. The nurse saved me from anaphylaxis.
I live in The Netherlands, first we have to go to an out of doctor practice after 5pm & also in the weekend, they decide if you have to go to hospital. They help you with stitches or what ever. That is why we have no long hours in the hospital. We pay like €200 a month on healthcare. Unless the ambulance needs to be called and that also cost €385. I get why the times are long in hospitals in the UK..
"I'm not one of those doctors that give you some pain killers and send you on your way" ...literally first patient we see him interact with he's suggests to give him some pain killers and head home and if the headache gets worse to come on back... Lol 😁😂😋🤭 Ohh I'm sure it was all that was necessary! But no on a more serious note though, it would be nice to have a couple more doctors out there with his type of attitude! 😊😉
I couldn’t imagine what it feels like to be a doctor and have someone pass away under your care. Even though in this case it’s an elderly person that you know is at the end of their life, it’s still a life that has come to an end. I felt so bad for the doctor. He’s such a nice guy and it’s part of the job and it’s not the nice part of the job that’s for sure. I guess when watching this show, I always have to remind myself of what the people involved are going through. Not to take what they say too serious because they are going through a very stressful time watching their loved ones suffer. After saying that, I guess an animal lover, like myself felt that the mom leaning over her daughter and telling her that they would get rid of the horse, she pick the wrong time to do it. First of all the daughter is now having to worry about the mom getting rid of a horse that she dearly loves. With all that the girl has to worry about physically and medically what’s going on with her body, she now has to think mentally about what her mom said to her about the horse, which could be very emotional to her. Now the animal person in me found that it would be very mean to get rid of the horse because it made a mistake in getting spooked. It’s like having your loved one thinking about something and you come up from behind them and you spook them and they turn around and spill water all over the place. I just feel that the animal shouldn’t have to pay the price and have its heartbroken because it’ll be away from the girl that it loves. I hope by the end of the show that we hear that they kept the horse. It’ll break my heart if they get rid of it. It’s as if they’re punishing the horse for getting spooked. EDITED: I’m so glad to see that the horse is still there. To see it nuzzling up to her owners face and rubbing its head around her shoulder, you can tell the great love that they have between them.
