- Welcome to the Blaxland Backshops, where I'll be discussing and going through the build process for custom model trains I create.
"Alex" is the Blaxland Ridge's #1. here's how I made him.
I have wanted to gear my channel towards my models forever now, but haven't had the motivation to make videos. I don't plan on making videos frequently, but when I do, here's what to expect.
Enjoy!
Alex

Can YOU find the sussy?
I am the sussy
The 2-8-0 “consolidation” at the end?
Where do I find the video of Eddie sands new Texas and dispatch models
@@trainermike9099 is your 4-4-0 a new tooling such as the model demonstrated in this video?
The brass 2-8-0, either the real #3 or a secret #4
If the fictional railroad and model is a love letter to 1800’s railroading then this video is a love letter to custom work and model railroading. Unbelievable production value. This video raises the bar in so many ways. Loved loved loved the photos of him at the show. That was amazing.
Also shoutout to the Richard voice cameo during the tender in bathroom cup scene. And also shoutout to that Arbour kit lmao.
I'm floored. Hearing these words from the custom god himself means so much. Thank you Kris!
Arbor sussy cameo was obligatory 😩😩😩
@@Alerrecks You’re smelcome.
You have inspired me to build a custom Bachman 4-4-0 love your work
Thank you so much. I look forward to seeing it!
I Evan ordered the parts that you used from green mountain models
It will be southern railway’s 12
It will be posted on this account
Phenomenal Presentation Alex. Really loved how you presented the history of no.1 with a touch of humor. Definitely will be looking forward to more videos like this!
Thank you so much Julien, I hope to make more soon
This is amazing! 👌
Edit:ok and I finished the video and wow
This is more then amazing, your journey when modifying blaxland Alex is just fantastic
Again well done m8 well done 💙
Not only does this model go so hard, but this video is equally well produced! Better then most my videos lmao
Excellent work Alex!
Awe thanks man! Your stuff is just as good!
@@Alerrecks ahaha not talking about my models, more my videos lmao
Just finished the video. Holy crap this is an incredible video! It is really well done! I really do hope you make more like this!
Thank you Jack! I'm glad you enjoyed!
Great Work you did to him
Cheers Willow & Jasper
Thanks!
Easily one of the best project videos ever created! Absolutely wonderful work!!!
Thanks Varun! I hope to further improve with the next video
Great video showing build, hope to see more in the future. Liked.
Thanks! I'm hoping to make some more.
This video is excellent, I will probably be doing something similar to this in the future with my bachmann 4-4-0 as well. Though I will model it as a locomotive from the early 1860's.
Thanks! Go for it! I plan on making an early 4-4-0 someday as well..
The first version you made was much better than anything I could do. You have real talent in modeling, and this video had inspired me to modify and work on my IHB 0-8-0
Cool! I look forward to seeing what you do with it.
Loved watching this dude! Fantastic model
It’s a wonderful model with a wonderful story great job keep it up!!!
I loved this video! Seeing the progress, ups and downs of the project is really interesting. You did an amazing job on it!
32:00 I see that Lackawanna Steamboat 👀
I took that picture just for you! I'm glad you enjoyed Tyler!
Amazing video Alex ! I don’t even know where to start explaining on how good this video is lol
Glad my 4-4-0 Wolf I commissioned from Quintin inspired part of your locomotive! I'm planning on making an upgraded version of my Wolf myself, I also made a 3d model version on blender for a game I may or may not put it in. I absolutely loved the white walls and I want to put them into my new version
Holy shit no way!! I'm going to redo #1 soon, can't wait to see what you come up with.
If you've got discord lmk, I'd love to see the game model!
Alex, this was an amazing video. It was relaxing, but it constantly kept me engaged. I can't wait to see the next installment in this series.
Very professional Alex. Both the model and the video. Your going places
Thank you Kurt. Means a lot coming from someone who rebuilt an entire live steam engine
Good Stuff! Just sparked another interest in modeling for me!
Hey that’s me! I love the build story, what a beautiful loco!
Thank you so much, your praise really means a lot! Thanks for being a part of the story!
THE MOMENT EVERYONES BEEN WAITING FORRRRRRRRR
LETS GET IT
@@Alerrecks AHHHHHH
Shout out to my home gamer dilman.
@@kristofersmith2357 thanc you ver much skir
10/10 would definitely customize again
You have just earned yourself a new subscriber. Amazing model and I love the gold
Thanks so much!
This is a great video. Will you ever do a video for #2?
Thanks! #2 will certainly get a video whenever I finish her. It's been a year with no progress and I need to touch up some things on #1!
@@Alerrecks with how great #1 looked I bet #2 will look amazing
Great video! I’m doing something similar with my freelanced Bluegrass Lines. First locomotive will be RS-3 #16, starting with a Hobbytown locomotive and brass detail parts.
Awesome! Love the name, can't wait to see it!
This is amazing
I don't know why it took so long for me to watch this video.
Alex, this is amazing. This is why I consider you the best modeler I know. Can't wait to see more.
This is late but I recommend using Super Clean to strip plastic. It is faster than alcohol if you are striping acrylic paint and other kinds (but you probably will still need to use alcohol for enamel paints), but Super Clean will not harm plastic at all! It comes in purple bottles including a gallon jug.
Thanks for the tips! Right now, 81% is working for me. I've refined a lot already since this video haha
Wow I can tell this took a long time to build. Props!
Thanks lmao, forgot you were subbed
Texas has gone through some changes since then. Dispatch too. Both have received some decal and paint touch ups, and Dispatch has a whole new headlamp bracket that came from Precision Scale Models. Mind you, they are just two locomotives out of a fleet of 18.
Right now, my priority is redoing a few parts on my General.
Shit man I forgot to reply haha, I'd love to talk more about your stuff sometime. #1 is ready for a minor overhaul as well.
@@Alerrecks That's very Blaxland of you. :)
I love the video and I can’t wait for the next videos about number two and three.❤
That kitbash work is insane. Would have to do a double take just to tell it didn't look like that from the factory!
Definitely one of the best custom model train build videos I've seen on TH-cam, watching this makes me want to get my current steam locomotive project done faster. what do you use for airbrushing?
Very cool model Alex.
Tis time for the epic
Awesome love the design
Thanks!
Awesome video! What I like to do for coal is walk along a railroad and pickup raw coal lumps that are dropped by the gondolas and hoppers, and crush it up to a course grain, ALWAYS BE CAREFUL OF TRAINS ON RAILROADS
Brooooo u gotta upload more! 😊
So happy to see that you had fun in my home state. Wish I could have gone to ten Amherst train show but by the time I discovered it it was too late.
Haha, sure did. Shame you didn't get to go, it was a lot of fun!
@@Alerrecks do you know if your going this year. It’s during this month! I’m
Going for sure. Probably won’t bring anything but oh well.
@@BMMEC6000 I won't be going this month but I will be at the NY Hamburg show in February
@@Alerrecks alright then. I guess I’ll se if I can make it there
Phenomenal editing!
Nice
Nice to see some modernized Americans. If you come across another's one it could be interesting to modernize it into a 'fallen flag' turned logging locomotive with a stepbored pilot and heavily weathered, I did this on my LE American for awhile (now in the shop for a rebuild into an inspection locomotive) it was quite intriguing and boy it was easy to keep looking grubby burning wood lol!
Looks very impressive!
Thanks!
mmm yes pog
Where did you get the pilot for #2? I’m looking for one and that one looks great.
i won't lie i was looking forward to your AU railroad but this model is nice
I gave him the Alclad drug addiction
God I love sniffing laquers
@BlaxlandRidge3 yo is it cool if i also say my rivoiossi 4-4-0 was built along side Rino. it was originally a rino type but baldwin was making it for my railroad (J.C.R.R)
it bacicly has the same stuff like yours & rino but i switched the headlight for a older looking one and planning on switching the smoke stack and replacing my broken pilot beam & pilot. i have 2 jupiter 4-4-0 s but there pretty mutch a stock model only thing iv done is paint them. J.C.R.R #1 had its gears and tender motor removed (i model in N scale but like customizing ho 4-4-0 s) i had some old break line tube so thats the new smoke stack for #1. im close to getting J.C.R.R #1 done just need a swinging bell, but #2 #4 #5 are becoming a project still looking for a #3 its the u.p 119 the bachmann one but cant find one that is cheap and money is a nother reason why lol. i have a old rivorossi 2-4-0 (#5) but i probably wont mess with that one probably a parts engine. if you do read this thankyou for reading my long ass coment lol you were my insporation for customizing 4-4-0 s hell for getting into 4-4-0 s / 4-6-0 s wild west era
(p.s blaxland ridge #1 looks beautiful great work man)

How do you decal your name and tender? I want to do that with my model. My first railroads engine was also a 4-4-0
Where can I find the video of Eddie sands Texas and dispatch models
How Many Engines do you have to Reconstruct or Modify.
Too many to count! I'm always working on something. You can check out my social medias for more pics of what I'm working on, but hopefully I'll have some new videos out soon :)
I got a similar project I'm working on, but its an On30 Bachmann Mogal
Can't wait to see it!
@BlaxlandRidge3
Welp since you said that, I gotta make a video, good thing I've been taking pictures.
Wait dumb question how did you buff the boiler
Noice, can u like make a 1850's 4-4-0 like the general?
Where can I find Eddie sands texas and dispatch models
2:28 just a nit pick as a steam nerd but that is just the piping that allows steam to enter the boiler the actual injector is in the cab.
最高💯👏🧑✈️
Link that headlight bulb?
When is the next episode?
Mr Strauss what do you think of the Israeli interaction with its neighbors?
If I saw you at Harmon’s I would -You 🥊 -

I really don't like this part. It's not that nice to make fun of other people's models, even if they aren't that great. If this was one of my models here, I would have been very hurt. Otherwise, awesome video.
I thought it was gosh danged funi
