As a farmer/Lego enthusiast myself, I appreciate this set, as the barn looks realistic while still being Minecraft-y. I'm probably just gonna order the Farmer minifig and the diamond axe off Bricklink though, just because of the price

Good plan for sure. As a LEGO enthusiast, you probably would have a lot of the parts on hand to make a build very similar to this if you wanted to too, which is nice. Hopefully the villagers show up on Bricklink soon. I keep checking xD

in my opinion the Red Barn is a really cool set but it is definitely overpriced
Considering the fact that it comes with a lot of mobs we've gotten before in another sets. Another disappointment is For those who like to part out sets you would mainly just get a ton of red bricks at the end of the day And I think we all have those, but for those who need red bricks then i Suppose it would be good But besides that the design is pretty cool But I don't think I would be picking up this set for that price. It Definitely has Benefits & doubts. I mean at least it looks like a barn! Nice video as always!

HA! I was hoping there would be a few Star Wars fans watching. I feel so much pain for you guys, and this set here is only a small taste of the insane overpricing that theme gets.... For the most part, you'll find Minecraft to be a very fun and affordable theme. One set a year is about all that's egregiously overpriced (see 2021's Modern Treehouse brickset.com/sets/21174-1/The-Modern-Treehouse or 2018's The Bedrock Adventures brickset.com/sets/21147-1/The-Bedrock-Adventures)
I have to say, I really love your review format. There is such a clear passion from you for everything you review. The attention to detail such as highlighting the set's designer, comparing mobs, and even looking at price per weight, are just really great and make each review feel so individual and special. I have been watching your videos since you began the biome MOC series and your passion for LEGO Minecraft has reignited that passion for me. While I have bought a set here and there, I haven't ever really committed to the theme. But your reviews have helped me see the value in it and how charming it is. This set in particular has captured my attention due to me also wanting LEGO farm sets (City didn't deliver). As you said, it's quite a beautiful set if not a bit overpriced. I'll definitely look into it when a sale appears.

Although this is expensive, I think its one of the best minecraft sets. I want more sets like this, regular looking player skins, with a build that someone might ACTUALLY make in Minecraft. This it's such a big and bulky design so it's super awesome in my opinion. Great review as usual!

I do like this set, my favourite part being the growing plants feature! The price for this is crazy! This set feels like a $50 at most, $60 if feeling generous

I honestly love seeing Lego designers create these non-game accurate sets, if I wanted to see a game accurate set, I would watch your channel. I was surprised to see sakuri show off his Minecraft worlds when Steve was added into smash, I wonder what these Minecraft Lego set designer's worlds look like

This one is so pretty! I’ve seen those barns everywhere on servers and I have one of my own too, though in a different color scheme. I think barns are kind of an iconic Minecraft building. Even though its not perfect when it comes to game accuracy it feels a lot better proportionally to me than some previous sets from the series. I also hope that the series will stick to the direction of “really cool complete building(s)” for its premium sets instead of giant mob houses. I’m kind of not a fan of those for some reason. I also think it’s a great play set in a more doll-housey sense and would work great with some cheaper farm sets. Like a really nice gift for a kid who’s into Minecraft.
That price though is bogus!! It will always be one of those sets that I ogle at the stores, consider getting and then look at the price tag and squirm. Yeesh! Even with how good it is this feels like a rip off.
I do appreciate how many complete buildings we've been getting. Love em or hate em, both the Pig House and Llama Village were very nicely finished off. Plus we got completed houses in both the Illager Raid set and Abandoned Village which is fantastic
That set is an awesome style for Minecraft, it has great minifigs, and a great design. I think the reason that not many people picked this up though is the price. Maybe 20$ cheaper would make it a lot more affordable. As always, Great review! I cant wait for the ice spikes!

this gives me old lego minecraft set vibes, imo, the first 3 waves of lego mc were really good! yeah, modern sets are good, too. but it just doesn't hit the same as those old sets! great review, mr. cheese!

this is a minecraft nostalgia game accurate to me because im pretty sure most off us minecraft gamers has made a barn one or more times and always had that red base and white outline image in our heads. just simple and basic but works so well

This review convinced me I wanted the set but I could never go for that price tag. Finally got it the other day for 50$ off during a Walmart blowout Lego sale. One of the best deals I've gotten in ages!
I wish Lego would release a set with a lot of mobs, trees, tools and special pieces (crafting table, furnace, etc.) Because almost everyone has the blocky parts to make their own creation.
Would make for a great Crafting Box 4.0!

Awesome! Did not expect for the first of the three vids to come out immediately, but a very welcome surprise! And you should definitely make a floating island, it would be a fun challenge, and include some of the wacky generation mess ups that occasionally happen in the game, just a personal opinion tho
Some gravity-defying stuff would be pretty sweet. I do wonder what the best way to pull it off would be. Saw someone use a waterfall pretty effectively to support an island once!
We grabbed this set with a 15% discount at Legoland in June. My 8 yo is obsessed with Minecraft. He loves this set. He loves the playability and the fact that it opens to play. He also loved the figures espeically the one with the hat. Keep up the great work!

Built this in a flat world trying to maintain the right size, and the barn actually seems to translate to Minecraft really well. It'd be cool to see this as a custom build in your world.

I like this set because in normal time, all the farm sets are just big animals. This set is a barn, not just a big animal. However, the set is literally overpriced compare to my Lego technic McLaren. The set has 830 pieces and it cost 70$ Canadian compared to this with 799 piece for 130$ Canadian.

I'm not a Lego Minecraft fan but I really like the look of this set. Idk, there's something charming about how chunky it is, it feels like a children's drawing, and as someone who made something very very similar to this for our horses in my first Realms world with my friends, it feels kind of sentimental to see it. Would I get it? Ehhhhhh no, but I also probably would have loved it a lot as a kid, had I gotten it for Christmas or a birthday. It's a fun, solid thing.

I see a barn that could have inspired this build outside my window every day. At 130 CAD it's too much for me but man it's the best looking set by far. Matches the way I build, too.
Thankfully I have seen this clearanced at about 20% at some retailers here in the US! Hopefully that happens in other countries soon too

Yeah, cost is insane, especially for LEGO Minecraft which usually gives us pretty solid prices.
I have shared my opinion on this set countless times in this channel's cement section
The Minecraft inaccuracy, the randomness, the lack on the mini figs, the simple build, i just can't ignore all those things and it ruins this set for me extremely, not just Minecraft related problems, just in general there are many things that just don't sound well to me
And to answer that little joke in the middle, what *i* say it's "inaccuracy" is not just anything that doesn't make 100% sense in Minecraft, but just the general accumulation of small problems
The odd numbers studs is ok and would be ok in any other set as the main problem, heck, even the fences being completely inaccurate is completely fine
But when the entire build doesn't really "follow" a generic shape that would feel minecraft-y other than the general "square-ish" shape
To see what I mean better, i could give some examples of sets that do the accuracy better, like the end dungeon, spawner, the first igloo set, the big mountain, many of the small poly bag looking sets
The entire Minecraft set price range is filled with some better than other sets accuracy-wise, but then accuracy doesn't just mean shape and build, it also means colors and others
Most sets that I mentioned before have a very simple build color-wise that can be easily translated to real blocks in minecraft
Basically what I mean is that, from all the inaccuracy in Lego Minecraft, this one just has *less* of that, and it just breaks my suspension of disbelief
But anyways, to not end this comment seeming like I'm angry at you are anything 🤣, this review was great and I can't wait to see more videos from this awesome channel! Have a great life too!
This is a totally valid critique and I get where you're coming from 100%! While they're not as pretty, some of the earliest sets are great examples of a more 'faithful approach' (see brickset.com/sets/21118-1/The-Mine) where everything is intentionally given a 2x2 space, and ultimately because of that, I can say that The Mine looks more like a Minecraft set than The Red Barn does. So yeah, there's definitely something to be said for that!

Only have 1 cow. And jungle villagers are my favorite ones in game.
This set is also available where i live for 85 euros..
The llama village is 101 euro too.. and i also love the minecraft llamas.
Have all the other sets from this wave. This year is the best year for lego minecraft yet in my opinion
At my home its both 125 euros
And the it isnt game accurate argument is really weak. Every lego minecraft set so far has captured the minecraft feel extremely well. And that to me is far more important then game accuracy.
And besides you can still make all these sets in game, just be a little creative about it.
Dont rebuild the sets in game, but instead build the lego set as if it was build in game first and then rebuild in lego.

I feel that if it had a couple more plates with some more crops on them, it would maybe have been worth a hundred dollars, I wish we could get perfect sets for perfect prices but that can’t happen.

The annoyance of jungle villagers looking so good but having no home for them will never pass me. Forever will I hope that the official game gets jungle villages. Would be an upgrade on the lacklustre temples

It's also made using the 3x3 blocks technique (I hope someone knows what i mean), which makes it easier to connect some sets from the past with it.

Its a good looking set that is probably better of being 70 dollars bacause only the horse is exclusive (and the farmer) i am gonna guess that the horse is gonna be expensive in a couple of years because how not popular the set is except. If you can find it everywhere on sale later on and as of now the part out value isnt great because i only see 4 horse sellers on bricklinkn
Horses have always been pretty desirable for sure. Glad we got some cheap ones in the Horse Stable set!

The strange thing is that this is treated as kinda exclusive, so i can get the llama village for 95 € in germany easy, I fail to see the barn getting cheaper. The best i have seen was 10% off and that felt still too expensive to me. I'd rather buy the llama village again for that price...
Yeah, there's definitely something weird about this one's release. It wasn't revealed alongside the other four sets in the wave (it was revealed a few hours later for some reason) and there's virtually no copies of the set on Bricklink, leading me to believe it must be harder to find.

lolol - I do hope we see a Hoglin remake in the future. They've done remakes in the past (Magma Cube, Ghast) so there's certainly precedent!

Like many other people, i have no interest in this set whatsoever. I think it's worth the extra ~$30 to just buy the llama village. Great review though!
Agreed. I will certainly recommend the Llama Village too which easily gets you $60 more worth of value for only the relatively small price difference
I never liked the baby zombie because of its arms, making them blocky compared to a mini figure just looks wrong
That's very fair. I still personally prefer using the micro mob version from 2012 as a baby zombie

Probably, but I'm guessing more people like the specialized mould, and I bet a lot of people would see it as a downgrade if they returned to the micro mob.

Just wondering but do you think if a new lego set includes newly printed pieces or newly molded pieces (such as the new horse print, or new baby zombie), that causes the price of the set to go up? Like they're trying to recomp for the money spent to make those new designs?
That is always a contributing factor, yeah. New moulds are especially expensive, but new prints can add some extra cost too. Spread out across thousands of sets the cost should be pretty negligible, but sometimes we still see the effect. In the case of this set here where there is really only one new mould (the goat head, which also appears in another set) and a few new prints (Villager, Rancher) and I don't think it comes anywhere near to justifying the cost of this particular set

I think I probably prefer it too. Still wish we could have gotten a white, brown, or nougat horse instead though.

That 1x2 with stud in the middle is not new it was in the Lego Minecraft dojo 2 of them in white and 1 in the fox lodge in white yes I own both of those sets
