Plenty of defensive players needed to step up before Hutch got hurt. not sure a trade to replace him this season would be the best option considering it will now be easier to see who needs to actually be replaced for next season. as unfortunate as the situation is it might be the inspiration needed for the rest of the defense to step up and get the job done. I think they should hold on to their picks to get the Hutch the help he needs to make the lions defense impossible to beat.

You can't replace Aiden Hutchinson and evidently either Maxx Crosby doesn't want to come here or the Raiders won't let him go. I'm a Trey Hendrickson fan and I'd love to see the Lions sign him. They did sign Isaiah Thomas from the Browns practice squad but he would be a short term bandaid. I trust Brad Holmes to make a trade for a pro bowl caliber player. #OnePride
Crosby isn’t leaving the Raiders. That’s fantasy football. The Lions aren’t going to make a huge move. They will acquire someone but it’s going to be a more middle of the road guy. I know Brad Holmes, he’s not just throwing everything at a team to get a player that will not enable him to be able to resign other core pieces in the next year or two, as would be the case for a Garrett or even if they could get Crosby. They just signed Goff, St Brown and Sewell to new deals to start the season. That literally is 40% of their cap space. Then just this last week they resigned Montgomery. Then you have Hutchinson, Jamo, LaPorta, Branch, Gibbs that will be coming up in the next couple years for extensions. They’re not gonna bring in some huge cash guy. It’s just not happening. I was just telling people this, it’s not baseball, you don’t get a luxury tax, you have to stick to a number. They’re not bringing in a $25-$30 million per year player. How would that even be feasible with all that going on unless it was a rental for this year and they’re not giving up big draft picks for that.

Aiden is a big piece, but he was never the entire defense, we can win without him, this is the time we make em believe.
You couldn't be more wrong. The defense has 15 sacks and half of those are Hutch. More importantly... The pressures. He pressures QB's more than any other player in the NFL and that's definitely a game changer. Losing that is a big deal.

Every other fanbase wants Detroit to mortgage away their future draft picks because they realize how great BH is at drafting. Everyone wants them to go all in for one player.
Hutchinson didn't make our defense. We got the best run defense, the best safety room, and to sticky receivers. Don't forget brian branch alone forced 3 turnovers in a single game. Quit downplaying our defense. And besides, we have the best offense in the nfl. We're Superbowl bound even without Hutch.
As a lions fan I have to disagree a little bit. Hutchinson applied pressure forcing bad throws and providing opportunities for our secondary to get turnovers. Defensive lines can make bad secondaries look amazing.
And sorry the best safety room who do u have that's can back up ur starters lol chi has the best safety room that was proven with our backups playing and still not missing a beat.

It took two 1sts, a third and a 6th for the Bears to get Khalil Mack. That's probably going to be the price range.
More reasonable targets might be Zadarius (Browns), Clowney (Panthers) or Chase Young (Saints), maybe Janarius Robinson from the Raiders for a late day 3 pick.

Vegas is not good there not using Crosby they are just being below average every year they need to rebuild so if they could get probably at least a first and second round pick for a guy that they don’t need that would help them start rebuilding we would need to give up a lot but I don’t think it’s that unrealistic

Hassan Reddick is gonna cost at least a 2nd and 3rd round pick. When the jets traded for him they got him for a 3rd rounder and there was a stipulation in the trade that if he got traded to an nfc team then the jets next 2nd round pick would go to the eagles. Also per his holdout I would urge you to look at the extension provisions specifically section 16 which states in the event a player holds out then the team he holds out on can file a grievance with the league and have the current contract extended for the same amount of seasons missed due to the holdout not exceeding a multiple of one. So in theory if Reddick doesn’t get traded and doesn’t suit up this year the jets could extend his contract another year and if he continues to holdout the jets could continue the cycle of extending his contract every year he holds out. Doubt that will happen but just saying. Oh and while he’s holding out he doesn’t count against their salary cap or their active 53 man roster
