As a Sooner fan I was at that dreadful game
    In Kansas City 2003. Lol
    Probably 15 degrees
And all I remember is that Wildcat doing 1,000 pushups on that trampoline.

Another great coach who helped K-State to where it's at. Just wish things would have gone differently back then.

I'm not surprised at all by this interview-- I don't know Coach Snyder from a hole in the ground but I always respected him and his teams because they were always tough like Coach Stoops described in this speech....Had no idea the connection between the 2 but now things make a little more sense....Great speech--Respect to Coach Snyder coming from a lifelong ND fan who loves all football when its played the right way and Coach Snyder and Coach Stoops played the game the right way best I can tell....

As an lifelong oklahoma fan I wouldn't trade coach stoops for any coach, from any level, in any era. Just the best possible representative of the university, and the state.

What was the drama with coach Stoops back in the day? I'm a young OU fan of 26 years old and don't remember the early 90s lol

Mitch Conner I’m a Sooner fan too... basically in ‘98 when Bob got hired at OU he hired a bunch of K-State’s staff away including Mark Mangino and Mike Stoops and they were hired right before the Big 12 Championship that K-State pissed away a chance to go to the National Championship in.

There was a perception that Stoops leaving after 1995 that there was bad blood and a statement by Stoops saying that Steve Spurrier was the greatest influence or he had learned the most from seemed to confirm that thought. In a 10 year time period, K-State had gone from being the worst program to within a game or two of being National Champs being sabotaged by Stoops. For many Wildcat fans, he was a Benedict Arnold. Stoops then comes back to the Big 12 and resurrects OU at K-State's expense 6:16.

@@colegeorge2451 and Brent Venables, the only one of Mike Stoops, Mangino and him trio that was taken from KSU that amonted to anything worthwhile.

@@johnfarr1155 I mean Mangino and Mike Stoops were both head coaches at one point. And Mikey won the Broyles award but I see your point. They were all pretty successful. Mike definitely lost it

I like what Kleinman is doing but would love to see stoops get the head job at K State if he ever wanted to get back into the game.
