I was in the stands in 1989 against North Texas, my junior year, finally experiencing my first KSU victory after going through the 0-27 years. Rushed the field, jumped on the goal post, carried it to the Last Chance and cut it apart. The 4’ section of goal post is in my office today and is one of my most prized possessions.
God Bless Coach Snyder--a wonderful gift to college football....I always liked K State teams and then I realized I like how Coach gets things done...I'm an ND fan who appreciates great coaches and he is definitely one of the greats in my book.
Hard to explain my feelings on this video. Some of these games were not only my first memories of kstate and football, but the first memories of life at all. 2002 season I remember going to a day care while my parents went to game lol. 2003 I vaguely remember, mostly the loss to Marshall. In 2004 I began to really remember things, as I would've been 6. I remember the night before Darren sproles final homegame vs isu I cried to my mother because I'd miss him. 2006 Texas was the first really loud game I remember, and I believe my first time going on the field. 2011 a&m was the most nervous I felt. The 2012 season was such a happy time till the heartbreak, I still remember how well we played against OSU, and the cannon smoke at those night games. 2013 was a painful season but one of my favorites, as I was obsessed with the team, Daniel Sams, and our resurrected season. Anyways, thanks John for posting this.
I can remember where I was during the majority of these moments. My first KSU game was the 82 Independence Bowl as a 6 month old baby. This team means so much more to us than the average college football fan and living in Oklahoma since 91...it means even more lol!
Great memories! I saw many of these in person and such awesome excitement and electricity! Probably my favorite was the win over Nebraska in the snow and the hit by Carter to seal the deal on fourth down. It was surreal with the snow.
As a Tech fan I loved the 2011 win against A&M. When Tech’s kicking situation fell apart against K State in the Kingsbury years and we gifted you that game, I felt like that was the beginning of the end for him and his tenure. You guys have a storied program and I hope you survive this debacle.
I was going to question the 2000 Oklahoma game but that moment WAS/IS the loudest excitement I've ever heard. The officials were terrible in that game, particularly when they blew a play dead just as Jonathan Beasley moved through a pile and emerged from the other side near full speed.
Also... that Texas game makes me sick to my stomach, thinking about how I allowed myself to think that maybe this Ron Prince thing might just work out...ugh. I make my self sick!
The 2019 Oklahoma game was amazing we brought are friend who chears for OU so when the game was over and the fans stormed the field he had to walk around with us while we took pictures with the players
Actually Deion has more college head coaching experience than Lincoln Riley had when he took over Oklahoma. He seemed to be doing OK. He's been involved in football longer than Sean McVay been living, but if he took one of these college jobs most will say he's a great hire. The double standard is very telling.
Husker fan here. Didn't see our 99 game in there. What happened? Haha jk sorry. The reason for the comment is how is that the 2000 Oklahoma game when 2000 Oklahoma won the ship? Did they go 12-1 or something? I'm sincerely asking.
Hey Dillon. Totally understand the question. OU did win that game. But K-State fell behind by 24 in the second half and after that blocked punt got it to only 7 with plenty of time left. It’s generally regarded as the loudest moment in Bill Snyder Family Stadium (then KSU Stadium) history. There’s a lot more that goes into that - top ten matchup, gameday was there, there was anger from coaches leaving K-State for OU during the 98 run, etc - that led to a pretty incredible moment even in a loss.
@@JohnKurtzShow OK that makes sense. And I take back the 99 comment as that was in Lincoln. I've been kind of on a K-State kick lately after watching the documentary narrated by Mike Rowe. "Miracle in Manhattan" I think it is called. I had pretty much given up all hope on my Huskers after last week's embarrassment but watching that reminded it takes time. Thanks for the reply.
Well look who made the Arkansas State hype video for the rest of the year!!! Arkansas State??? In Manhattan??? That’s hilarious🙄. Boomer Sooner kitty cats🙄

It was magical, epic days back in the 90s, Bill Snyder will never be matched, pure genius, amazing coach, truly glorius times, miss it.

So many more in our future. Amazing young team this year
It looks like Coach Klieman is a perfect fit for K-State. I agree that we will see more from this team.

John, very nicely done. My only small quibble: the 1993 win over Oklahoma, where Mitch Holthus talks about Bill "Moses" Snyder.
Totally fair. That was a great one and an all-time quote from Holthus.
All of these were so epic
The downfield blocking on TNew's block return against USC. *chef's kiss*
Special Teams U, indeed.
Looking forward to more of these videos... Regardless of the Big 12 Shakeout of OU and the upside down horns crews jumping to the SEC.
Looking forward to an update video with their win against #3 Ou this year 👊🏻
Yes sir!
This comment aged like fine wine
Yes but it wouldn't be in this video because it's in Oklahoma
Whoops.
One of the more incredible plays that I got to see live.
Great video. So many good memories.
Oh wow...a young Mitch Holthus has a spot in this compilation! 😁
5:24 Total Snyder swag
Great season KSU!
🌊🌊🌊
And, 20 years later, Nebraska still looking for Quincy Morgan.
1:36 "Snap to Ferguson"
What, was OU's punter that year named Turd Ferguson?
The video thumbnail is a photograph owned by Clif Palmberg who was as student photographer for the K-State Collegian and Royal Purple yearbook.
Awesome video. Keep them coming!
I was at Oklahoma 2019 and being a young kid I was so pissed to not be able to storm the field
Beating Texas to clinch the Big XII title my sophomore year (2012) tops the list for me. K-S-U Willie on the press box... epic!

@@JohnKurtzShow Kansas State bled season ticket holders due to their support of the marxian organization called BLM. Care to comment?
@@JohnnyKaw11B did you name yourself after Johnny Kaws bar in downtown Aggie...?
I was at that Iowa state game 2017
I only remember catching the end of it. Seems crazy skylar Thompson is still at ksu haha

My favorite is the NDSU game but looks like you forgot to upload that one 😅
Was Freeman a Snyder recruit?
I sold my ticket to KSU-USC for 40 bucks as a freshman. Huge regret.
Terrence Newman was such a great player.

Just had another one earlier

USC was BIG
EMAW
That's okay we at least paid you back the next year.
No Chad May? Go play with your Transformers.
One of their most epic moments includes a blatant face mask penalty that was missed lol

Why do you include something from the 2000 Oklahoma game when #2 K-State got curb-stomped by Stoops' Sooners?
K-State barely lost that game to the national champions. Gave Oklahoma their toughest test of the entire year in 2000
