When will people wake up? All these monitors, replacing buttons and gauges, are just COST CUTTING measures for the manufacturer. This is NOT automotive progress.
I do like these screens, despite how they take away from the "traditional" Mustang interior (double-bubble dash and all that). They aren't as hideously implemented like other brands despite how from some angles inside the cabin, they still look kind of tacked-on. Not as bad as the base model though. As for reliability, while I don't know if they're using OLED or LCD panels, I would urge people to look at some of the hardware they use daily that has a screen. Most of the screens you see have been in constant use for a long time, and a screen with moving graphics won't necessarily be as unreliable as a set of analogue gauges with a small information. The touchscreen and software that controls it however can be subject to criticism, but I also urge you to look at SYNC 3 and current SYNC 4 applications. Fortunately and unfortunately most recalls I've seen are not for these SYNC modules. These are still impressive, I hope that as we move towards more software-oriented interiors manufacturers will pay more attention to it, at least in some ways.
The driver's information screen is so close to the steering wheel because it's not set back in the dash you can't see it anyway because the steering wheels on the way the steering wheel blocks most of the information
I could hear that pony whinny when you "accessed the pony button". The whole panel shifted (1:45 - 1:48) when your pressed it. I am hoping this is a first mock-up or prototype.
The whole button panel moves because it’s all one big button basically. It’s a combo touch / physical button. The system uses the touch sensor to know which option was pressed and the actual button behind gives you the haptic feedback that the option was selected. Mercedes has been using something similar for a while on some cars
I’m thrilled that my favorite car is one of the first to direct the driver information/GPS screen toward the driver. I’ve never understood why that screen is always directed to the middle passenger in the rear seat who, in my case, is my 2-year-old daughter. Why does she need to see the navigation map? Now all they have to do is fix another no-brainer - a fuel filler pipe on both sides of the car. There’s no excuse for having just one fuel filler pipe. I’ve heard “There’s no room for the second pipe,” which is total BS. If those genius designers can make incredible high-tech engines and many convenient designs within the car, they can certainly design a second fuel filler pipe in their cars. When I buy Ford Motor Company the first thing I’m going to do is order all of the gas-powered cars to have a fuel filler pipe on each side.
Love it, I have a Mach-E and wish it was this good. Side note: Is this preproduction cuz the way that whole button bank moved at 1:47 was disconcerting
The design looks great but why use transitions when they update at 5fps. It breaks the user experience. Just have a smooth animation for the heated/cooled seat setting, who cares if the actual setting change happens 2s after you make the selection. It seemed tied to the sensors
This has a lot of similarities to the Elantra which i have, and its a good setup. The customization Ford has here is really nice, much better than most other cars on the market.
The big screen that everyone decides who can't use it. As if there's not a passenger, i'm pretty sure that the people decide what they do, and if they break the law, then they can caught and they pay for it
Something with all of the digital gauges, either separate driver screen or combined center screen, is depth of graphics. People used to harp so much about the digital rearview mirrors because eyes would take a second to adjust back to the live view of the road in front of them, it's the same with a screen in front of them and looking back at the road, regardless of location behind the steering wheel or at the top of left of the center display. HUDs really resolve these issues and should be leaned on more.
This isn't a real problem. Gauges were at a different distance than the road for 100 years, and have you actually used a HUD? Half the time you can barely see it in the sunlight, and god forbid you wear polarized sunglasses.
Uh the laggy slow transitions and software is horrendous come on ford software teams you can do better so much potential such improvement just a few ways to go overall great great attempt
Most of the time once you setup your initial options, you won’t be messing with it every time. So, in my opinion, it’s all wasted engineering. Another problem I foresee is the long term dependability of such screens. We are getting into a situation where the car is becoming more of a software driven.
Which is a problem. when they decide to not to “support” the software anymore. You wont see these as classics. They might not even drive cause the cars software isn’t supported anymore.
Cool, but c’mon with the no button crap. It’s just getting worse and worse because all companies want to save money instead of making the switch gear. How does it makes sense when you constantly have to take your eyes off the road to use a car?

Just stupid. More that can fade, break, wear-out quickly, glitch, need repaired, increase the price of the car, distract the driver more, but won't add value to the quality of the ride or the driving experience.
This is gimmicky. It has the same functions as the previous generation with the tech package/digital dash. I really dont like the iPad-looking dash - even the current gen digital dash still looks like it’s a sport car - this doesnt. Sorry - no, thanks.
interior does NOT look like a Mustang it could be literally any random chinese EV car interiors have never looked so similar, I am getting tired of this screen bs, who is impressed by cheap screens these days, boomers who are still not used to it??? screens were modern 10+ years ago... Edit: Also what's the point of having screens if you cant choose the way they look, less than ten choices, absurd... If you have a screen why not make it able to install hundreds of different graphics / styles to pick one you like (download on a pc and then install it with USB or whatever onto car)
Do you know how insanely dated shit would look if we just got rid of that and no boomers are usually the ones complaining about it young people love this stuff.

The young crowd is fascinated and brain-washed by the wiz-bang factor, but it's just a stupid screen that's way cheaper to acquire than designing, creating, testing, manufacturing, and inventorying physical controls. Screens are cheap now. In 10 years there will be a trend reversal: Analog gauges and physical buttons will be considered a hallmark of craftsmanship and luxury -- not cheap cost cutting screens and touch capacitive garbage.
@@Carfan678 -- You're missing the point: People think big screens are expensive and see it as a form of luxury -- because, until now, screens in cars were expensive items.
Terrible aesthetics, cluttered, no clean lines, ugly. They would be just fine in a luxury sedan or SUV, but not in a car that supposed to be driverfocused. Fingerprint and dust magnets bloated with useless Tech no one uses because it's already on our phone where it works better. These screens will glitch and fail over 3 years, they will be outdated and low-tech in one year. The beautiful analog gauges in real sports cars will work forever and never go out of style. It just goes to show the people who designed the Mustang aren't Gearheads. They might as well put in a champagne cooler and give the Mustang four-doors.

All of this stuff seems gimmicky AF. Instead of a ford anime and 30 bezel outline colors, I'd rather have physical climate knobs and good driving dynamics.
Looks terrible. Buttons downgraded to the screen, how much has the price dropped with these cost savings?
They look like cheap, generic, oversized tablets velcro’d to overly simplistic dash. The “themes” presented on a flat screen are overhyped and very underwhelming…
The screens aren’t even that bright and reflect too much in full day light, especially here in Florida. It’s massively disappointing
Because I like greasy finger prints all over my dash
This ruined the 2024 i have been waiting to buy. Now looking for new 2023 gt premium locally. I truly hate this dash
Some freshly microwaved bacon might moisten up those dry fingers, Alex!
Im liking these new dual screen infotainment screens. Far better than what we had for years
Simply hate it! ☺
Why the F do i want climate controls on a screen?
The Mach e is not a mustang
Just stupid. More that can fade, break, wear-out quickly, glitch, need repaired, increase the price of the car, distract the driver more, but won't add value to the quality of the ride or the driving experience.
These racing stripes are just terrible.
This is gimmicky. It has the same functions as the previous generation with the tech package/digital dash. I really dont like the iPad-looking dash - even the current gen digital dash still looks like it’s a sport car - this doesnt. Sorry - no, thanks.
Hyundai copy
*Mercedes they started the whole dual 12inch screen setup
Lots of useless gimmicks that most people love. Should do well.
It has the worst user friendly display. Poorly designed
interior does NOT look like a Mustang
it could be literally any random chinese EV
car interiors have never looked so similar, I am getting tired of this screen bs, who is impressed by cheap screens these days, boomers who are still not used to it??? screens were modern 10+ years ago...
All these monitors, replacing buttons and gauges, are just COST CUTTING measures for the manufacturer. This is NOT automotive progress.
@@ShowMeWhatINeedToKnow this is a mustang not a Rolls Royce 😭 let me know when they ever felt expensive
@@Carfan678 -- You're missing the point: People think big screens are expensive and see it as a form of luxury -- because, until now, screens in cars were expensive items.
@@Carfan678 most young people are NOT buying new $30k+ cars... it's obviously older people who are buying new cars
thats not a mustang
🤮
The dual screens are pretty useless and simply connected by piano black.... The lesser model is just a slap in the face with that split screen setup, hideous.
