This was an awesome event. I went to this event with my mom bf Glenn Jones aka plum crazy 88, he had a 79 blue Chevy van out of the fla sandpile with Skywalker tech. R.I.P. plum crazy
My MOS in the USMC is 5942. Aviation Radar Repairman. These military radar systems produce enough RF to make the Dopplar radar systems (weather radar) see a hurricane on a sunny day.
a drag race of sorts. except its called a keydown, when the light goes green they key up for a few seconds saying a selected word, then a station a few miles away calls back who they heard and thats the winner.

Wasting power and spewing interference. Basically the highest power wins. It's like monkeys and fire.
@ 1:10 why is the arc going sideways? Or we actually seeing the reflector driving the RF energy forward...but loosing energy because of bad insulation.
It does lose performance. I did a test and when my antenna was arcing, my signal was down at least 2 S units. Makes sense, the power is going to the arc instead of as RF energy.
It appears the single antenna radiating the arc is seeing the antenna to the right as an easy return path. It's too far away for the voltage to reach though. (Paschen's law)
Meanwhile your local FM broadcast radio station is laying down 100KW for years non stop, and you dummies are saying 30 seconds of this is causin brain damage...lol..OK.
Try standing a couple of feet away from that 100kW broadcast antenna and you’ll understand the difference. Inverse square law. If these guys are truly putting out 50kW then they are posing some real dangers to those hanging around there.
All the racist comments. Bitch all u want they're a blast to listen to on ch 6. When I get tired of ch19 listening to dead silence or stupid truckers whining and arguing I tune into ch6. Always intrigues me
Every time I get closer to a 50kw suburban while broadcasting I feel surprisingly the same. Lol People actually worrying about someone's well being with all that brain damage bush sh**. Aha. I call that b.s. That's a good hobbie.
Why aren't ya THAT concerned with all the CEOs that make millions a year off corporate wealthfare (welfare for business owners) as we like to call it? Don't worry I'll wait for your little racist b**** a** to respond w something dumb

What kind of wattage do they put out?
@@brickson98mAll of it.
Still running the AN/FPS-106? My original MOS was 6400 ... but after school went to Chanute AFB and graduated as a 5938.
SF!
Holy molly! Talk about the big strappers getting down!
I've always heard these guys on channel 6 saying that they just "got down" but now I have actually seen them getting down!
Running as much power as a shortwave broadcast station mwahahaha
Channel,6 super bowl channel

Can someone explain what’s going on? I mean I understand the concept of CB but what are th to doing?

It's amazing what you can do with a 4 watt radio LMFAO I love them Super Bowl guys!
Bro about to time travel with all those sparks
But it's not a Delorean 🤣🤣🤣
This brings putting that fire in that wire to reality and I just got down bump bump bump

Nah it's cause the aerials is phased together an sheeit
Yes

Perhaps it’s the Wind?

What kinda antennas these guys use ? Lol
Hahaha😂
Every one at the event meets in the cancer ward for cookies and chemo at the 10 year reunion! 😅😅😅
What am I looking at exactly?
Except knowing it's on a video..
How many watts are putting out?😲
70kw
i'm guessing 10,000watts maybe???
Yes, Eric, Even 16,000 or more, sometimes. 🤦♂️😂
Lost Dawg still gittin on down

This is no 50,000 try 90,000 pluss thousands.
222 sent me 💪😎

The difference is distance. FM broadcast stations have fences to keep people from getting too close.
You should learn about the inverse square law buddy.
Also there’s a difference between non-ionizing radiation and ionizing radiation.
frequency, and proximity to antenna does matter

I can only push 2kw right now .. working on
16 x TH430 48V300++Watt
so how's it going with that :D
*only* 2kw

You should look up the controlled exposure limit in ham radio book you might beg to differ
