The idea of this tutorials is that you begin at the first step. So first you learn how to send a command to the simulator for example, then when you know how that works, you build your way up.
You mean hardware from a real aircraft? You could if you use the message port, but you'll have to interface the Arduino to the hardware yourself, Air Manager will only handle the communication with the simulator.

How can I change when the LED turns on? I would like it to be OFF when the condition is met and ON when the condition is not.
Depends what variable you're using and the value of the variable.
