- In this video I show you how to pressure wash a concrete driveway like a pro. I don't use any chemicals and I also do not recommend using a wand to do your actual cleaning. I pressure wash hundreds of thousands of square feet a year so I am going to share my tips, tricks, and of course my opinions on how you can make your next pressure washing job easier, faster, and look better too!

Looks good. I have a neighbor who added to his driveway and now part of it is sloped to my yard and when he power washes it all goes into my yard. I dug a small trench to the street and it helps some. Gotta love people that do crap like that.
WOW! I've been using a wand only for years. I did not know those round surface cleaners even existed!
As always, great information! I just purchased a Westinghouse WPX3000e Electric Pressure Washer, 3000 Max PSI and 1.76 Max GPM and a 16" Janz surface cleaner to do my 80' driveway. To be honest, it was my first time doing something like this. After reading the reviews on Amazon about both pieces of equipment, I was confident that this would do a great job; not so much. It did just ok and I have a lot of streaks. I am not sure what I did wrong here, but it is pretty simple to use. Oh well. I will have to go over it again.
Spray some sodium hypochlorite on it and let it sit for 10-20 minutes and rinse. Should hide the streaks

It's weird how satisfying it is to look back at a freshly cleaned driveway. I wish I had the surface cleaner back in the day haha.
It is really satisfying. Amazing how much better and different it looks. Tell me about it, back in the day all we knew about were the wands lol. Once you use a surface cleaner, you’ll never look back! Hope you all are doing well Chris!
I have never seen those cleaners. We don't have much concrete here in Maine because of the cold temperatures so most driveways are gravel or asphalt. Very cool though!
That makes sense. All of the freezing and thawing, expansion and contraction, that is definitely tough on concrete slabs. I need to make it up there some time. Looks like beautiful country. Thanks a lot for the feedback!
The professionals do use chemicals. Keeps the growth away longer and it’s very simple to apply. Also, PSI is not the issue - higher GPM is the concern.
By not using chemical your are actually pushing dirt deeper into pavement and gpm means alot more than pressure. Terrible video

Thank you for this video the surface cleaner is a great idea since pressure washing with a wand gets frustrating and results are disappointing to say the least.
How to Home have you had the luxury of using a rotary nozzle as opposed to a fixed fan nozzle? They clean just like your surface cleaners but it's attached to your wand and it doesn't leave streaks or discernable fan marking. I've pressure washed a few apartments in the past few years and it would be a nightmare dragging that surface cleaner up three flights of stairs, so yeah I think you might find a rotary nozzle to be another invaluable tool in your arsenal.

Does your pressure only treatment lift algae, moss and blackspot or do you need to use hypochlorite first?

I tried without chemicles looked great till the next day. Even went over 3 times with surface cleaner. Mind you my surface cleaner is a 120 ryobi junk. Maybe that's the issue.

Don't have to have rubber boots. Good pair of leather boots work just fine. I have been pressure washing for 25 years wearing leather boots.
You’re right, you can. How are they when it’s really hot outside? Do you treat them with anything? I know some guys that use mink oil on their leather.

@@hermesdominguez2136 There have been some things that I use a soap product, but for concrete just water will work fine. Depending on the pressure that you have coming out, if you use a wand be careful of how close you get to the surface. It can blast off the top exposing the rock and makes it rougher. Then it gets dirty faster. I made that mistake in my very beginning so many years ago.
@@hermesdominguez2136 Also, you can use the wand on brick or siding, but again use CAUTION about getting too close. Only go as close as needed. If you choose to wash any outdoor furniture, same as above. When I first used a wand on my vinyl outdoor furniture, I ruined them by getting too close. It made the surface very rough, kind of like orange peel, but rougher.
I guess he uses jist water on his bidy and car . Didnt kill mold and mildew just spreading soores which makes growth comes back faster and worse

What if you have oil stains? I have tried all kinds of solutions and the stains just laugh at me!
