PDI is one of the most important things we do here at Alliance RV, every single unit goes through the PDI process, we designed our buildings so that each plant has it' sown dedicated PDI area. Thank ou JD for showcasing this very important process!
Thank you for the video. So in response to your self-described rant--respectfully, It doesn't really matter how pretty and perfect the unit is at the factory if the end result is a damaged product (due to driving and weather) when you buy it. If these units (not just Alliance) can't handle the purpose for which they are built--what's the point? I guess it's easy to just be able to put it off on the consumer as having an unrealistic expectation of performance, but when people are paying so much money for these RV's--they should not expect them to be in the shop for many months immediately after purchase--just because they used them as intended. I believe driving and experiencing different types of weather is part of the job description for an RV. They should be able to handle the purpose for which they were built/sold.
As my wife and I are anticipation of our first Rv ..we are considering having a 3rd party inspection..thank you for all of your hard work and. Dedication to keeping Rv ers informed of their purchase..now can we get a face behind this rv teacher....thank you for everything
JD -- I just finished watching your Alliance videos that showed the road test and PDI process for Valor toyhaulers. I had no idea that Alliance went through this much effort to "get it right" before a unit leaves the plant in Elkhart. I'm impressed! Joe Martin did a terrific job of explaining what was going on and what Alliance is trying to do. Thank you, JD, for the superb videos! Lou from Georgia.
Love this inside glimpse of Alliance. We have a 2021 Paradigm 370FB, it re-enforces that we made the right decision with our purchase. I'm sure the processes have been honed over time, but knowing the commitment the Company has to producing a quality product, just makes me proud to be an Alliance owner.
What Alliance and no other manufacturers do, is hold their dealers to any kind of PDI standards when the units get to the dealers. Wife and I we’re getting a new unit and had narrowed the field to a Chapparal 336TSIK and an Alliance Avenue 32RLS, which are both mid profile 35-37 ft rear living, Azdel etc. priced identical and “left over” 2022 units. We went to the Alliance dealer first, as my wife was keen on becoming an Allie. The look through, started badly, as the cushion on the back of the dining area, looked like it was attacked by a rabid cat. Secondly, two of the valances where basically on the furniture. We ended this walk through. We proceeded to the Chapparal dealership and found the unit in great shape with one piece of loose trim and a door that dragged slightly. We are now proud owners of a Chapparal.
As others have mentioned, that pretty Alliance PDI facility apparently is for show only. The inspection process appears to be handled by employees asleep at the wheel. I’m guessing the PDI checklist is 2 questions - does it have our brand name on it and can it roll out the door behind a truck. Our 2023 385FL was rife with problems. We took delivery 8/23 and moved it immediately to the coast property for fishing season. For negative starters, 6 of the fittings on the Nautilus panel were finger tight at best and poured water into the wet bay. The guest bathroom mirror ejected from the wall (only 2 screws were used and they missed studs). The master bathroom sink leaked because of the ABS plumbing install out of alignment. All 5 rear cargo doors had the latches installed so tight they buckled the face of the Azdel. This allowed water to pool in the aluminum channel and when the cargo door opened, water poured from the channel into the inside of the cargo door and space. The washer machine water dump tube was installed to the very top of the housing and did not allow for the cap to be removed to insert a drain hose. This is not even half the list of things that were wrong (and continue to be located). The PDI at Alliance is a joke and our local dealer where we purchased did no better at the PDI. We did have it in the shop most of the winter months to get things fixed. The dealership is trying to fix, but I can sense they are as frustrated with this turd as I am. Still every time we fire it up for use, there is a new problem that arises. So disappointed after all the research we did to find a company that ‘did the right thing’. If I could dump this thing and not lose $50,000.00 I would in a heartbeat. Previously we had 2 Northwoods Industries products (Arctic Fox and Outdoors RV Products). They gave us 0, that’s right zero problems over a total of 18 years. I get sick to my stomach thinking about it…….. Alliance built our retirement 5th wheel from junk using morons for labor.
I was looking to buy an alliance delta 252rl. The first one I saw had a weld on the bottom slide rail that wasn't supposed to be there, was put there after the unit was built as it wasn't painted at all, was a lousy weld at that, and wasn't on any other models. The dealer told me they couldn't sell that unit and that Lippert was going to send a rep to look at it....which didn't make sense to me because while it's a lippert slide,, they don't pdi alliance trailers.. The second one they transferred in for us had the slide hitting the smoke detector whenever it closed. Pushing up on the detector and roof, until it pushed past it. The trim was mangled and broke and had noticeable areas on the ceiling that were not right. It was obvious to me that the pdi on these 2 units was lacking. After we thought on it, we decided to pass on any Alliance as while they talk a big game, they don't deliver. Actions speak louder than you tube videos.
I wish all manufacturers were as detailed as Alliance is. We are on our 4th Keystone and each one we bought new. Saw dust is in corners and storage compartments. It's as if no one cleaned the unit when it leaves the factory or the dealership. I know that all the vehicles I buy, they are clean as a whistle when I leave the lot with them. I guess that attention to detail is not as important to some manufacturers. I am very satisfied with our Keystones, especially the Avalanche series, because I have had very little with any of them. My only gripe is PDI.
These dealers charge you to PDI there campers. I looked at one and pulled a draw out in the island. It fell apart in pieces on the floor. Refuse to pay the PDI charge because it's just a way to rip you off.

When the Quality Manager cell phone rings…someone found something somewhere in the process

Do they do a water test like put it in a building like it big rain ???
So will your next RV be an Alliance or a Brinkley? LOL
PDI= “probably didn’t inspect”
