Jared has a point. While It sounds good on paper, they are melee fighters after all, you can focus them down quite easily. If they are mixed with infantry they might live for longer, but for the same reason they might not be able to reach their targets to apply the anti-healing. I think they can do great vs healing monsters, but single entities on foot seem a bit too hard to handle
@@jaredkronk4614 They fragile and expensive investment that can trade upward if we babysit them well. Wardancer, daemonettes, and bloodletters are similiar units (and even have slower attack speed). I really love how chaos has access to all kinds of tools but has limits that make you choose between the options. Makes them really fun to play and there are no longer broken matchups like in the days of wh1 chaos vs vampires
I saw that streltsi and Akshina rangers have same cost, when akshina have more range, stealth, vanguard deployment and no line of sight issues. I feel like they should do something to make streltsi more worth it, maybe lower the cost or boost their damage a bit. Supremely cool looking unit but a bit underwhelming in battle
That's just an overhaul gun problem. They solved that issue with the Chorfs, by making the bullets do insane damage, compared to arrows and bolts. For some reason, they didn't bring the same change to all gunpowder units. So now, all other but the Chorfs, guns are just much worse versions of AP bolts/arrows. Yet another issue that could be easly fixed, but a custodian team for the biggest and most profitable Strategy game on the market is to much an ask for the biggest developer in the UK
Yeah, as already mentioned they have to give guns something to compensate for their line of sight issues versus bows and crossbows. Ideally my solution would also be to heavily rein in the ability of those units to do insane arcing shots...
Nurgle doesn’t have a sorcerer hero yet, and I don’t think they will any time soon specifically for that scenario you’re describing. The thought of Be’lakor with Nurgle healing was fear-inducing already when Champions of Chaos dropped, it’s probably why they have a sorcerer lord and an exalted hero instead. Now, Blue Scribes with some Tzeentch-blessed spell rolls, THAT’S a power combo!
Quite a flavourful composition too! Any Chaos Gods will work together against the southerners, but Tzeentch + Slaanesh is a duo that has no major beef with each other (same as Khorne + Nurgle).
I'm so glad I'm not the only who has been reminded of 'The Ritual' by the Things in the Wood. I feel like the Incarnate's design was heavily influenced by the creature in that film.
Are big monsters being given mortis engine effects because a lot of big monsters have a horrible time fighting smaller units? At least that's how I feel about using big monsters lol Also considering the incarnate likes to randomly start glowing I would've expected it to have some sort of "intensity" ability like so many other units have.
Agreed, but I think some of them would perform a lot better if they had the ‘remove Immune to Psychology’ trait like Be’lakor has. Namely thinking of the Dread Saurians when I say this: very rarely (if at all) are they worth the 3,100 gold value.
Both Aekold and Sigvald are monsters in late-battle duels, too. Sigvald has perfect vigor and Aekold's heal also restores vigor, so when up against characters who get exhausted as the battle drags on, both of these characters will still be fresh, and will have huge stat advantages over any of their opponents.
Double Sig sat on the centre the whole match and couldn’t cap it XD The don’t have the cap weight to hold an objective or the speed to bounce between them.
I agree, the summoned Things in the Woods do kind of look like Nyxborn creatures from Theros! I haven’t played MTG, but I know them from the DnD Theros book.
every chaos unit gets divided into mortal, and daemon, all mortals go to WoC, and all daemonic units go to DoC, no daemon units, so DoC basically got nothing from this. meanwhile, in LB, WoC gets a single entity mortis engine, to make boxing even better :)
Damn, that Incarnate of Elemental Beasts sure is cool, as Turin says. Really curious if the Elemental Incarnate of Beasts handles other factions well, or whether the Elemental Beasts of Incarnate ends up stumped. Looking forward to seeing more of the Beasts Incarnate Elemental Of!
Aekold should have been a lord tbh, he might have been a hero on TT but just the amount the things he brings makes him almost auto include in everything. If he cost a lord slot it would be different.
Tzeentch units (WoC and Tzeentch factions) seem to be in a weird spot in general. They’re either auto-includes (like Aekold or the Chaos Champions RoR) or there’s no reason to ever pick them (Chaos Marauders with Spears, Chaos Furies of Tzeentch, Lords of Change, and Warshrine of Tzeentch come to mind). Also find it surprising that Beastmen are getting access to Tzaangors but Norsca didn’t get access to the different god-aligned Marauders and Marauder Horsemen when Champions of Chaos came out last year.
Maybe I'll get lucky asking here. Anyone have advice for countering an ironblaster/lead Belcher build as Chorfs? Tauroks? They seem to even eat kiting units alive.
I also find it’s weird that Warriors of Chaos have the Tzaangors. I feel like they shouldn’t have access to Beastmen units. Probably better to keep them to the Tzeentch and Beastmen rosters?
