Rollins Band - Almost Real (1992)
I looked deep into your eyes,
Saw men lying broken,
Shattered at the bottom of your well.
You took their simple affection,
Turned it into bad infection,
Sent them packing straight to hell.
I see what sweats you,
Reality threatens you.
You can't hide yourself from me.
When you see the one who laughed at you:
It's me!
It's me!
It's me!
It's me!
Canine men,
Fightin', lyin', trying to be the one,
That got to feel your touch.
I see them lined up like broken heroes,
Spitting out pieces of their broken luck.
I guess I've got good sense in hindsight,
Because to me you never meant that much.
Oh, no!
When you see the one who sees through you:
It's me!
It's me!
It's me!
It's me!
It's me!
Yeah!
Why you gotta do 'em like that?
Why you gotta do 'em like that?
Can't you see you're the strongest one?
Can't you see you're the strongest one?
Why you gotta do 'em like that?
Why you gotta do 'em like that?
Why?! Why?! Why?! WHY?!
Yeah! Yeah! Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!
Yeah! Yeah! Oooooh!
Got my arms around you.
I feel, I feel so all alone.
You're almost real, almost real, almost real, almost real,
It hurts inside.
Almost real. Almost real.
My confusion. My confusion is real.
My confusion is all, my confusion is real.
My confusion is real. So real. So real.
My confusion is real.
So real. So real. So real. So real. SO REAL!
Really.
Wasted time spent thinking about you,
You know I've come to hate myself.
Smashing my hands against the wall,
Trying to forget the foolish way I felt.
You're so kind when it serves you well.
You're so kind when it serves you well,
Your cruelty, oooooh yeah!
No more crying,
No more lying,
No more messing around with my mind.
I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm goin', I'm gone!
Because now I see you,
Now I see you.
Now I see you.
You must think I am blind.
When you need those arms around you,
You won't find my arms around you!
Oooooooh no!
When you see the one who sees through you,
When you see the one who laughed at you:
It's me!

Man, when your feeling down or sad, listen to this album, lifts you up from the battle and gives you a new shield and armor....
Bravo! Well said.
Nothing beats this album. Period.
The best album of the Rollins band
Aleksandar Todosijevic Agreed!
No question about it
1.) End of Silence
2.) Weight
3.) Come in and Burn
this album has to be one of the most uplifting albums ever, at least lyrically. I'm off the opinion that every teenager should be exposed to this album, the subject matter is so inspiring and important and most of all just positive.
Everyone should be exposed to this wisdom!!
Before you step in the traps of a narc!
But you can't see it coming you can just feel that something is not real! So almost real
is a real song! ;)
Well said!
This has to be the best Rollins Band song.
Album definitely. Song? Nope, I don't think so.
@@johnnanasy5251 It's also really better live, so much more powerful
@@miccysenpai9334 Fuck yeah!!!!!! Seen him on last tour. Yeah I know I missed the best shit.

Wow I thought that I wouldn't have to listen to this album after a bad break up in 93. Well 20 some years later, I'm back.
Domingo Meza Never gets old...
Nobody likes a quitter. Wtf.
Definitely one of the best albums ever. It totally helped me up during a rough part of my life and I'm glad I got to shake Henry's hand and thank him. Thanks again Henry.
Saw Rollins warming up for the show....we were stareing like scared kids....I should have said hello...
Remember waiting in line for a beer at Chicago’s Aragon ballroom in 1990 at a Jane’s Addiction gig and hearing the opening band. Heaviest riffs with this lurking pounding dude in shorts with a huge pissed off Sun tattoo on his back killin it... My introduction to the Rollins Band!!! Saw then so many times after thru the 90’s, in 91 also at the first Lollapolloza.
What a fucking great song. Anyone can relate to it. Best song on the album.
Such a killer song and a great band!!!!!! Rollins tapped into my teen angst and 20 some year later I'm back for the music... And yeah his thing touches me too.
Great Heavy Metal. Period.

I had this song in my head for an idea of a Freddy vs Jason story. Pretty badass song

extremely powerful lyrics,
once again henry has touched me AND I LIKED IT
I think "Love song " is one of his best...I believe it's on Hard Volume.
This one, Hard Volume, Turned on, and Weight are definitely the best ones....
Austin, late 92.....Tool (pre fame) open Rollins Band, End of Silence tour @ Backroom......almost real... detonates the crowd......best song of the night .....Butthole Surfers/ Rollins Band jams for a finale.....after show Paul Leary hot rod flame job Mercury? haveing car trouble.
Love working out to this album
Saw them in Austin....90s violence.
This song calls out women better than anything I've ever heard. Expose your sons to it, so that they may safeguard their hearts. And show it to your daughters, so that they may know the outcome of poor decisions so that they may avoid making them.
