I relate with Jaby. That's what I felt as well when I watched the movie and thought why do people root for tanu and manu... They just keep on getting into these situations at someone else's cost, never adding any positive value in anyone's lives just because they are the main character of the movie.. My point is why make such a movie even? I don't understand these movies where the base premise is to stupid in logic but we're supposed to enjoy it because it has good acting or comedy or music or whatever. The movie's spine is weak, these other things cannot help it from sinking.

She’s lucky that a star kid, the people she hates, rejected Queen and TWM and she got these movies which brought her out of obscurity and into mainstream. But, instead of being wise in the way she used this new phase of her career, she let her jealous toxic filthy bullying personality ruin it for her and making her the KWEEN of consecutive FLOPS. I love Jaby's reaction on this He is sooooo frustrated, I remember watching this movie twice in theatre because it was such a huge hit and couldn't believe Kangana as Datto and Tanu in the same frame (huge fan of her acting) also the songs and the funny scenes I guess the language barrier doesn't give you enough comic relief in this frustrating story line. I completely understand I was irritated too You know in some movies they give a happy ending to extremely opposite characters and we often wonder what might happen to this couple later - the first mental asylum scene was what I was expecting from Tanu and Manu (Ye jawani hai deewani - Ranbir and Deepika kinda sucked too IMO wouldn't work)
Manisha, Achara is more Asian and can relate more with these films. Where as Jaby is not connected in any way to Asia. He cant understand or follow the Asian sensibilities. He basically like few other youtubers would be more hollywoodiesh and fixed upon only few formats of the movies that hollywood presents with. So any thing that takes them out of that holleiwoodiesh frame, they feel frustrated and can also not understand these indian family films.

Jaby's rage moment during the reaction was exactly my reaction. If he had married Datto and told Tanu off, this would have been a really good movie in my eyes. But him going back to that toxic woman turned the movie into one big problem, and justified why he deserved to be in that insane asylum. Only a crazy dude will go back to a woman like that. Even if the acting is good, or the movie is well made, I just don't stand with this problematic story and ending (awful ending).
The ending, is that extra touch, that made the movie more memorable, in an unjust way. No one can deny, everybody felt for Datto. N frustrated with Tanu & Manu.
Datto can do in her own... tanu cannot ... tanu was always a crazy person and Manu married a crazy person... it's a good thing that kusum and Manu didn't get married it would have ruined kusum life... tanu character has always been a crazy person... Manu decided to marry her... all of a sudden he wanted to marry kusum just because she looks like tanu... Manu was bad and more guilty than tanu...and most important thing age gap between datto and Manu... by any means it would have ruined datto... datto has a carrier to build by marrying Manu it would have ruined....
In the Indian context, toxicity wagarah doesn't exist. A divorce is seen as a huge personal failure. So no matter how crazy your spouse gets you are expected to save your marriage. And this is so deeply ingrained in our upbringing that divorce is deeply traumatic for Indian couples even if by mutual consent. That's probably what the film portrays.

I would say Tanu and Manu both were mean at some point. But I think the main issue here was that once Manu is already going through one deepest emotion of his life, he jumped into a different emotion without tackle out the first one properly. And this is what many of us do sometimes once it comes to deep emotional involvement. we indeliberately become so mean sometimes.
If only any other actresses from Indian Cinema could do what Kangana has done in this movie, i would stop being this crazy fan of this woman. I mean there is nobody can ever beat her in terms of acting. Kangana is indeed a queen! ❤️
I think what I commented after the first movie is clearer for y'all having watched the second movie - Tanu and Manu are both problematic and self-destructive people, and that's exactly why they belong together. Tanu is crazy, that's self explanatory from the movie. And Manu literally 'fell in love' with Datto/Kusum because she's a lookalike of Tanu, and he saw Tanu in her sometimes (the 'place your hand on my cheek', the 'I'm not even scared of my father' moments). That's all it was. As soon as Tanu showed him she still loved him, he didn't want Datto anymore. In the end, he was literally just going to marry her because he'd committed to doing it. 'I'll show you, I'll be a very good husband to you', he says to himself as much as Datto, and he'd have tried, too. But again, only because he'd committed to doing it and he sees himself as a guy who keeps commitments. It would never have worked between them. I LOVE that Tanu and Manu get together. As Achara said, they deserve each other. (And I also love that they're so complicated and messy, and it's not just a pureass 'true love conquers all' thing. I mean, I'd have hated them irl but it's cinema, I'm here to see drama!) Datto and Raja both deserve better.
Omg… my reaction when I watched the movie was exactly as jaby. I was so frustrated when datto was left for Tanu who was sooooooooooooo toxic and annoying. And amongst all characters Raja and datto were the best for me
Story try to give a message that ..in every marriage after sometime things gone wrong that doesn't mean you break your relationship ....or end ...... because sometimes you not even realise you love her or his ...and after that you regret .....but it's not easy to understand for jaby ... because in India divorce is not smole think it's the last decision ...and in other country it's like normal
This was a movie about Deepak Dobriyal’s career defining performance. To understand it better you need to know the cultural aspects. The way Datto (nickname for someone whose teeth are Out) speaks Haryanvi is also some highlight. This is mainly an entertainment movie otherwise in Haryana they don’t easily give their young daughter to a divorced person. Tanu was always Crazzy. Take it or leave it. For the ppl of India those who understand Haryanvi and UP culture, the movie would be more entertaining and more so engaging than Westerners. Madhavan hasn’t spoken much in this one yet Dobriyal covers him up with his cheekiness. This movie is also about the dual roles played by Kangana excellently. Her last good movie before she turned a acting politician for real. Kangana rightly received the biggest film award of India - the national award! For this simple reason, ppl in South India cannot understand and engage themselves while watching Jab We Met. (The remake there did not work)

Both Tanu and Manu are foolish, that fact was established in the first part itself. In the end the audience is left rooting for Datto because of her honest, innocent yet feisty personality.
I felt the exact same way with that ending. I think the time when this movie came out, they usually had an ending like that. If this was produced today, we would have seen Manu and Datto/Kussum together.

madhavans character is this "good boy" haracter who goes through the motions of life, checking all the boxes. he doesnt know who he is, or what he wants, that is why tanu got mad at him in the 1st place. this type of being a "simpleton" is encourages and praised in india. Girls fall for these guys and then wonder their lives arent adventurous.
The reason he went after kusum was she had the same face. Once in love, always in love. They were in love this whole time, its jus so rooted in character couldn't see it through.

Manu went back to tanu because he deeply loved her from beginning...he also fell for datto coz she looked like tanu...this shows he still had a sof corner...datto realised it so sacrificed her love
I was equally frustrated with this movie!! Also I think if sperm count is less sure artificial insemination could be done..but if quality is sperms is hampered...like they inheritely have some genetic or motility issues..you would need a donor. P.S: Also having a friend who is like manu makes this even more frustrating! Haha. After watching this movie I felt like cursing him again! Datto is adorable. I think only Kangna could have pulled this off ...these two not just look different, their body language reactions are different too. No wonder Mr. Bachchan sent her a personalized appreciation letter for the same.
This story happened to me but in smaller version 😅 my girlfriend broke up with me and i was so depressed and sad for months and then my parents arrange my engagement to some girl , day before engagement was her bday so i thought i would tell her on her birthday that I'm going to engage tomorrow, i told her , she thought i was lying next day i got engaged, then next day she called we talked till 4 am , i had to broke the heart of the girl my parents make me engaged and get together with with my Love , i feel regret and guilty for that one person in my life , only person i hurt with knowing that it'll hurt her 😶 and i can't even say sorry to her , she blocked me and her parents don't let me talk to her , i just want to know she's a happy now and I'm sorry for her
This is what happens in real life they always get back together , like in this movie , so if you are starting a relationship with a person who broke up recently then don't go in that relationship you'll end up hurting yourself

This is such great story. In Real life, things happen. No person or couple is perfect. If you were trying to find an “ideal” story, 99% stories are not ideal. As a filmmaker, I expected Jaby to understand this. Human beings are flawed. Don’t impose ideals on them. Achara , like always was the saving grace. She understood the characters. Personally, I loved the movie n would have loved to see the third part.
it is because in india divorce and changing partner is not much appreciated, husband wife are made for each other for like seven life , even our parents and grandparents have nt known their faces untill the wedding night , so the main leads together is always considered as happy ending , and it would have defeated the very purpose of showing indian wedding and the name of the movie, i am not justifying toxicity in marriage , but what they really wanna show is , ups and down are part of marriages , and its your duty to bring back your partner from choosing a different path , coz husband and wife here means a couple made from heaven.

No one can deny, everybody felt for Datto. N frustrated with Tanu & Manu.
Datto can do in her own... tanu cannot ... tanu was always a crazy person and Manu married a crazy person... it's a good thing that kusum and Manu didn't get married it would have ruined kusum life... tanu character has always been a crazy person... Manu decided to marry her... all of a sudden he wanted to marry kusum just because she looks like tanu... Manu was bad and more guilty than tanu...and most important thing age gap between datto and Manu... by any means it would have ruined datto... datto has a carrier to build by marrying Manu it would have ruined....
JUST LIKE WILL SMITH. LITTLE WILLE IS MARRIED TO TOXICITY AND LIKES IT.
In the Indian context, toxicity wagarah doesn't exist. A divorce is seen as a huge personal failure. So no matter how crazy your spouse gets you are expected to save your marriage. And this is so deeply ingrained in our upbringing that divorce is deeply traumatic for Indian couples even if by mutual consent. That's probably what the film portrays.

But he didn't love datto did he? He was only attracted to her (probably) bcoz she had that tanu's face.. But Yes of course two more lives spoilt but i guess these might have the chances to happen more often than what we wanted to happen in the movie... People are tend to act more stupid than intelligent in these situations there is lot of toxicity in relationships and people do like drama this movie makes sense to me anyhow although I am frustrated too😂
Don't agree with u.. before the divorce papers when he got to know more about her like a gem of person and kind hearted and brave individual she is by hanging out with her, he felt she's the person he'd marry as Tanu had signed the divorce papers and he started "Liking" her (Kusum) as a person & not actually in "Love" but in the end of the movie he wasn't ready abt it and u know the rest..

I would say Tanu and Manu both were mean at some point. But I think the main issue here was that once Manu is already going through one deepest emotion of his life, he jumped into a different emotion without tackle out the first one properly. And this is what many of us do sometimes once it comes to deep emotional involvement. we indeliberately become so mean sometimes.
If only any other actresses from Indian Cinema could do what Kangana has done in this movie, i would stop being this crazy fan of this woman. I mean there is nobody can ever beat her in terms of acting. Kangana is indeed a queen! ❤️
It's not only acting. The village sports girl character has different accent than Tanu
I think what I commented after the first movie is clearer for y'all having watched the second movie - Tanu and Manu are both problematic and self-destructive people, and that's exactly why they belong together. Tanu is crazy, that's self explanatory from the movie. And Manu literally 'fell in love' with Datto/Kusum because she's a lookalike of Tanu, and he saw Tanu in her sometimes (the 'place your hand on my cheek', the 'I'm not even scared of my father' moments). That's all it was. As soon as Tanu showed him she still loved him, he didn't want Datto anymore. In the end, he was literally just going to marry her because he'd committed to doing it. 'I'll show you, I'll be a very good husband to you', he says to himself as much as Datto, and he'd have tried, too. But again, only because he'd committed to doing it and he sees himself as a guy who keeps commitments. It would never have worked between them.
I LOVE that Tanu and Manu get together. As Achara said, they deserve each other. (And I also love that they're so complicated and messy, and it's not just a pureass 'true love conquers all' thing. I mean, I'd have hated them irl but it's cinema, I'm here to see drama!) Datto and Raja both deserve better.
Omg… my reaction when I watched the movie was exactly as jaby. I was so frustrated when datto was left for Tanu who was sooooooooooooo toxic and annoying. And amongst all characters Raja and datto were the best for me

This was a movie about Deepak Dobriyal’s career defining performance. To understand it better you need to know the cultural aspects. The way Datto (nickname for someone whose teeth are Out) speaks Haryanvi is also some highlight. This is mainly an entertainment movie otherwise in Haryana they don’t easily give their young daughter to a divorced person. Tanu was always Crazzy. Take it or leave it. For the ppl of India those who understand Haryanvi and UP culture, the movie would be more entertaining and more so engaging than Westerners. Madhavan hasn’t spoken much in this one yet Dobriyal covers him up with his cheekiness. This movie is also about the dual roles played by Kangana excellently. Her last good movie before she turned a acting politician for real. Kangana rightly received the biggest film award of India - the national award!
For this simple reason, ppl in South India cannot understand and engage themselves while watching Jab We Met. (The remake there did not work)

One thing I enjoy in Anand L Rai's films is that none of the characters are perfect, they make mistakes and that's how he creates drama.
The thing is the country already loves R Madhvan and Kangana so much.. that is impossible to hate them.. no movie plot can make us hate them.. it is a brilliant direction and acting.. and we still love them😂😂😂
Both Tanu and Manu are foolish, that fact was established in the first part itself.
In the end the audience is left rooting for Datto because of her honest, innocent yet feisty personality.

welcome to India, divorce is unreal here, people hate divorce here... even if staying together means having miserable life. many people in India loved this end bcoz no divorce, marriages are forever here.
madhavans character is this "good boy" haracter who goes through the motions of life, checking all the boxes. he doesnt know who he is, or what he wants, that is why tanu got mad at him in the 1st place. this type of being a "simpleton" is encourages and praised in india. Girls fall for these guys and then wonder their lives arent adventurous.

Yup, Jaby we all felt the same...toxicity ..extremely irritating, frustrating and sad. And, yes as Achara said it really does feels real too.
Man this movie feels like a harem when clearly the best girl didn't win.
I was equally frustrated with this movie!! Also I think if sperm count is less sure artificial insemination could be done..but if quality is sperms is hampered...like they inheritely have some genetic or motility issues..you would need a donor. P.S: Also having a friend who is like manu makes this even more frustrating! Haha. After watching this movie I felt like cursing him again! Datto is adorable. I think only Kangna could have pulled this off ...these two not just look different, their body language reactions are different too. No wonder Mr. Bachchan sent her a personalized appreciation letter for the same.
This story happened to me but in smaller version 😅 my girlfriend broke up with me and i was so depressed and sad for months and then my parents arrange my engagement to some girl , day before engagement was her bday so i thought i would tell her on her birthday that I'm going to engage tomorrow, i told her , she thought i was lying next day i got engaged, then next day she called we talked till 4 am , i had to broke the heart of the girl my parents make me engaged and get together with with my Love , i feel regret and guilty for that one person in my life , only person i hurt with knowing that it'll hurt her 😶 and i can't even say sorry to her , she blocked me and her parents don't let me talk to her , i just want to know she's a happy now and I'm sorry for her
This is what happens in real life they always get back together , like in this movie , so if you are starting a relationship with a person who broke up recently then don't go in that relationship you'll end up hurting yourself

The portrayal of Manu is very upsetting and very real because people usually don't have the guts to speak up. He was that kind of a character who is "supposed to be" the sorted guy but reality completely different. And need I say anything about Tanu..

Well..Tbh even if we dont like how everything worked out in the end..This is kinda real..Toxic people are indecisive and really full of themselves..There was no way Tanu would hve let anyone else have the guy that loved her..She wanted him to keep loving her even if she wasnt reciprocating at all..Manu indeed will have to face the repercussions of making bad decisions..But In all this, It's good Kusum pulled herself back before the drama escalated and saved herself big time..It was obvious she wasn't the love interest of Manu and even Raja but jst an option..She appears to be really sweet tho..When She cried at the end..I was so done with movie amd wanted to throw the screen away..So infuriating 🥴

This is such great story. In Real life, things happen. No person or couple is perfect. If you were trying to find an “ideal” story, 99% stories are not ideal. As a filmmaker, I expected Jaby to understand this. Human beings are flawed. Don’t impose ideals on them. Achara , like always was the saving grace. She understood the characters.
Personally, I loved the movie n would have loved to see the third part.
it is because in india divorce and changing partner is not much appreciated, husband wife are made for each other for like seven life , even our parents and grandparents have nt known their faces untill the wedding night , so the main leads together is always considered as happy ending , and it would have defeated the very purpose of showing indian wedding and the name of the movie, i am not justifying toxicity in marriage , but what they really wanna show is , ups and down are part of marriages , and its your duty to bring back your partner from choosing a different path , coz husband and wife here means a couple made from heaven.
