Thanks so much. Just had a job offer and couldn't decide whether to go traveling instead. The main reason was because I thought its my last chance to do so, but you've made me realise I can do it later on!
How did you do the interview process and assessment centres if you were travelling. Iv just started my Gap year and plan to go travelling in februrary for 4 months. I want a grad scheme in place for when i get back so ideally need to start applying now, however what happens if im in Asia or somewhere during the assessment centre day?
Whilst I was travelling I didn't do any interviews / assessment centres, I started applying once I came back to the UK. It's only September so you have approx 6 months to get yourself an offer, get on right now and I'm confident you can get an offer before February! Use that deadline as motivation to get an offer within the next few months, let's go!
@@AdamLuke thanks for the reply! Yes that’s what I want to do but I thought with all graduate schemes the process between each interview and stuff is like a good few weeks and I thought they normally do the assessment centre days in like March/April even if u apply in September- so your saying that’s not entirely correct then?
@@isabelalexander1317 It'll depend on the company and their recruitment cycle - lots of graduate schemes will be open for applicants now and will close as soon as they've filled their vacancies, meaning you get have an offer secured within the next couple of months! If you're concerned, another option is delaying travelling by 2 months to give yourself more time. Is that possible? My advice - you have 6 months to get an offer...go for it!
GREAT question! I would have LOVED to have taken a gap year after sixth form however when I went to university, it was the last year at lower rates before they went up to £9K per year. So a gap year before uni would have been VERY expensive. I would recommend taking a gap year, and it's something I wish I could have done.
@@AdamLukeI’m currently in year 13 and it’s getting really close to when we need to apply through UCAS so I’m trying to weigh up pros and cons of a gap year before or after uni, i just know I want to travel

Always travel! Life experience is everything!
Agreed! Where you going next?!
@@AdamLuke hopefully get my job back singing on the cruise ships in the Caribbean soon... so there 👌🏽
I don’t mean to be rude. But I don’t consider travelling going away for 2-3 weeks that’s a holiday. I feel like 6 weeks or more is travelling
I feel you! BUT plenty of opportunity to travel whilst working AND you got the 💰 to enjoy it.
Great content Adam.
Thanks!
Awesome video dude 👌🙂
Thanks, appreciate it!
I’m so torn 😭
what did you decide? 😏

What made you choose a gap year after uni rather than after a levels?
