    This is what I love about Sue. She may seem evil, but she understood what Becky was feeling (especially considering that she had a special needs sister) and although Becky caused a big problem without wanting to, Sue put her career and job at risk before seeing becky struggle later on.

      @AestheticallyDumb yes? she only cared about Becky because she reminded her of her sister (in the show) and because becky was her loyal minion. Sue was pure evil. I cant even name all the ridiculous things she did on the show.

      AestheticallyDumb this is one of those moments where she is not a bitch all the time. Proof that she actually has a heart, and someone worthy of redeeming. However she destroyed glee club many times to the point where it’s borderline abuse of a minor, and at another point disbanded glee bc she simply won a bet with Will. She manipulates other to get what she wants and if she doesn’t, she uses force, so bad that she actually became president of McKinnley because she planted incriminating evidence of a criminal investigation on Figgins to demote him from the position.
      Her “good” does not outweigh her “bad” but does make her more endearing.

    I hate to tell you this, but this sums up Sue Sylvester's teaching career. Yes, she is rude, vulgar, hateful, backstabbing, vengeful, and many other colorful adjectives...but at the end of the day...she has Becki's back covered. Throughout this show I have hated what she has done to people, except for this one moment. I think she shows her true colors.

    cant tell if this was a good move on sue's part because yes she sacrificed herself for becky but if becky is in the mental state where she's bringing guns to school, is it really safe for her to actually attend the school? what if the gun had been pointed in the wrong direction and sue (or becky) had gotten hurt? compromising the safety of other students so that becky can stay doesnt seem right

    • @caionapoli3434
      @caionapoli3434 9 ปีที่แล้ว +157

      hazel k It's not Becky's fault. Her dad kept a gun at the reach of someone with Down Sindrome, it is his fault entirely. She didn't know that she was doing something extremely dangerous, and you can't blame someone for something they don't know. People in America have the twisted feeling that the only way to protect your family is to arm yourself, not knowing that it only allows violence and crimes to be commited more often. Well, you can see the result of it. Her family and society thaught Becky that she needed a gun to be safe, so it was exaclty what she did. Gun policies will never be enough until governments realize that civilians are not supposed to carry around guns.

    • @samspangler9530
      @samspangler9530 9 ปีที่แล้ว +89

      Caio Napoli no, it's IN NO WAY Becky's fault. But by burying this incident, no one knows how scared Becky is and no one can help her deal with that. If she doesn't deal with it, that fear can wind up doing SERIOUS harm to her psychologically and that can lead to a whole bundle of problems down the road. Trust me, I know.
      That said, reporting her likely wouldn't have helped. They would have punished her for the shooting and probably never dealt with the underlying issues. I can only hope Sue talked to Becky's parents about the incident so they could help her deal with her fear of the future. Life after high school can be a truly terrifying thought when you are neurologically different and I, at least, am high-functioning. I don't envy Becky's position at all.

    • @samspangler9530
      @samspangler9530 9 ปีที่แล้ว +70

      Just because she has down syndrome, doesn't mean she doesn't have issues. I myself have a neurological disorder. It is in no way as severe, but it does cause me problems interacting with a neurotypical world. Becky obviously realized that bringing a gun to school was a bad decision or she would not have told Sue. She wants help dealing with the fear of entering a world she knows nothing about (i.e.: post-school). I'm merely saying that Sue should make sure she gets it. Sue did the best she could for Becky under the circumstances, but Becky still needs to have someone recognize and help her deal with her fears or it's very possible she could find herself in another potentially dangerous situation and there might not be someone around to help next time.

      @romanr.301 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheFreakyable People already understand that doctors are not always capable of saving a person's life, due to the sheer nature of being a medical professional. A teacher bringing a loaded gun to school is in no way comparable to a medical professional's judgment of a medical situation (and yes, I am fully aware Sue did not bring or fire the gun, but in this scene that is the scenario that Sue is constructing for Principal Figgins to believe), and in that situation, the teacher traumatized an entire school community, especially when there's an atmosphere of anxiety about school shootings in the United States already. In your "example," the doctor only "killed" (I'm assuming you mean euthanize or neglect due to triaging/prioritizing patients with more serious conditions) one person. Bad analogies and trying to say "oh everything is relative" is a slippery slope to where you can just minimize anything and everything.

It’s complicated and I don’t have an answer but I don’t think taking away people’s ability to defend themselves is the right way to do it. But we should definitely be smarter and stop drinking when using guns. I’ve heard of really sad news stories of people being idiots and messing around with their weapons while heavily under the influence and ended up either seriously injured or straight up died.

    I've only seen the show Maybe two episodes random order and I thought the female Coach Sue I thought she was a horrible evil person I had no idea about this episode and it really gets to me because I have a disability as well Asperger syndrome it's a learning and social disability and it's always held me back a lot while making friends even when trying to study at school I always kept thinking that it was even going to hold me back from finding a career and surviving out in the world just like how Becky felt but I never resort to taking a gun but what she did for her it definitely shows me that so there may be people out there in the world that seem as hard as Stone but somewhere in them they have heart and it really does give me hope for the world today

    Everyone here talking about how Sue did a very honorable thing covering for Becky, but I see no one even mentioning Will and his whole "I'm not buying it" bit. Will knew Sue was far from a goody two-shoes, but her bringing a gun was where he drew the line. Even though the evidence tends to show otherwise, deep down Will always knew that Sue was better than people give her credit for. He always believed in her even though he hates everything she's done to him.
    Seriously, Will and Sue's friendship is something else

    As much as it sucks that Sue didn't directly implicate Becky, Sue did tell Will, side-of-the-mouth, that Becky was responsible, which led to Roz putting pressure on Becky until Becky decided to confess. I think Sue wanted Becky to stand up and take responsibility herself, rather than being ratted out.

    As easy as it would to scold Becky, her reasoning is understandable. She was scared no one would protect her, that with her Down syndrome, she already was going to have a difficult life. I guess what pissed me off about her is that she was bitch throughout the show, and now she does something stupid, its easy to blame her, when truthfully, she was pushed to the limit. That's simply my opinion though.

    I LOVED Sue in the later series. Whether it was meant to be as a byproduct of her interactions with Glee, or just Sue's natural character arc, she went from a predatory wolf to a protective lioness. I mean sure she was still a hard-ass, and went hilariously overboard on several occasions, but when it genuinely mattered she always came through, and helped and protected the students without even asking for recognition. I think her real character is a very underappreciated aspect of the show, and deserves a lot more recognition than it gets.

    How can someone hate Sue?? Yeah, she did a few messed up things but she was there for Backy and even if she denied this she cares about the glee club. You can see that when she protect them in regionals and when she was helping them from her own will before nationals, she convinced and brought Santanas grandma to the wedding. She even helped the teachers thousand of times! She was there for Beiste when she discovered that Cooper hit her, she was helping Will with a lot of things, she even helped Emma sometimes!! And off the point, she ships KLAIne like 99% of us and she's funny.

    You know I never really felt like Sue was a bad person or evil she just was overly competitive and loved the thrill of a rival a little too much. But when it came to really standing up for what was right, such as when she defended Kurt from Karofsky and standing up for Becky and protecting her, she revealed her heart and those made for great show moments.
