Those weren't that good a saw, pricey for the size & 20" bar was all it would handle. If the air passages weren't kept clear, they would overheat. Lastly those Echos made in the late '70s had coil problems irregardless of model. This was on the EVL models only, the VL models were ok & you could retro fit a module to those. Echo later modified those 610s to a twin cylinder mister/sprayer that didn't do well either. I do have several factory manuals also.

Old Echo chain brakes are like striped unicorns it seems. I can't find one for my CS 5500 to save my life.

Too bad, Leon. Those EVLs are a pain to find parts for. I have a 500EVL, among a few others, with the same problem .
