Very nice rig. Weakness in this video presentation and many others (from Pierce and others), is you folks should light up all the code/warning lights and show an example in your videos. I think this would add value. Thanks.

How does the tv screen hold up in bad weather like 0 degree temperatures or heavy rain? Seems like that would be a concern
Or the humidity, especially in The Lou (home of the 2018-19 Stanley Cup champions. Bleed Blue!), where 90%-plus on a 100° day in late summer is the norm. Rough on equipment, and even rougher on the crews using it. Still, nice rig, even if the Commander gives the Pierce Quantum a run at the ugliest chassis in the industry.
Rugged display inclosures are more common than you think, and most electronics stand up to extreme cold very well. Cold moisture is not an issue. It's bringing cold electronics back into a warm place, allowing condensate to form on the PCB. Even that issue gets licked by the right enclosure and changeable silica gel charges. Lots of military electronics and proffessional gear electronics are desighned with usage in such horrible conditions. A TV display is no exception.
We’ve had the truck almost two years. No issues with the tv screen so far. It is completely protected inside the cabinet.
You can see the European influence on Rosenbauer. The compartments are way more organized and those fold down sides to stand or sit on are standard in Europe since a long time. But still, if you would take two vehicles, build for the same purpose, one from Germany and one from America, and would take out every piece of equipment, the pile of stuff would be much larger on the German side, even though the truck is smaller on the outside. Why is that? Why do American Firefighters opt to use those big trucks with so few equipment? I just dont get it... I mean yeah, you have different styles of environments in each country, but the general tasks are more or less the same. Dont you guys sometimes just wish to have the right tool for the job instead of improvise due of a lack of tools?
UsefulMuffinCat the equipment needed to be on the truck comes in handy at some point. Better to have it when you need it than lack it when you need it most. This truck does dual purpose and a Rescue Pumper is the best way to go for a smaller department.
The rear of an engine is extremely vulnerable. They get hit all the time. Why would you put the most complex equipment there and have the engineer stand in such a dangerous place, instead of a protected area like more conventional placements?
