I'm not sure if you guys read these, but just in case, I'm 71 years old, I was about 13 or 14 when Paul Simon wrote this song and it's always been a favorite. When I heard Ya'll "Disturbed" do this cover, I actually had goose bumps from head to toe. by the time it got to the end ,I had tears in my eyes. You "Disturbed" have brought a great deal of justice to this great hit, and will carry it's legacy for many, many years. Out of the millions of views of this video, I'm sure at least 1000 are mine. The words to the song, mean as much or more now than when written, so many years ago. Even though I'm not a Metal fan, I will always cherish your version. To say this old man is obsessed with this cover, would be a gross understatement, Carry on, and God Bless ya, and THANK YOU, from a Fan, In Tennessee.

It was Art Garfunkel that wrote this song about a disabled friend that made a huge difference in his life and they were always there for each other. Great story. Look it up.

Today, after I visited his grave, I heard your song for the first time. Maybe he would have loved your cover version as well as I do.
Metal music is disregarded by so many people as a noise made by people who have little talent, if any, this track blows that clean out of the water, this is one of the most iconic songs ever written by two of the best writers ever, the original is nothing short of an institution. This version in my opinion beats that version hands down, Please please cover more of the great classic track of the 20th century in this style.
This is how this song was meant to be sung. The power and emotion David brings to these lyrics makes the words pierce your heart! I waited 50 years to hear this song sung with the force and passion he does.

Totally agree with you. I have lived life as a Manic Depressive person since being diagnosed at age 14. This version echos how I feel daily when on what I call a Manic Low the way this cover is sung reflects how suffocating the emotional turmoil is. The Sound Of Silence being how, even in these modern times , many feel about living with this none visible disability because many none sufferers still deem us as Attention Seakers when our Manic Lows lead to us attempting to end our lives because we (or atleast myself) are afraid to talk to anybody of our internal battles. Even our loved and closest family/friends. His being Manic Depressive/Bipolar 1 is what killed Robin Williams. As many who attempt or succeed spend the day before with the one they are closest to so that person is left with one last memory of a day of happiness that wipes out the evil of what took their friend from this life.
Sorry for this reply if you read it and it makes you maybe feel uncomfortable. But listening to this from my viewpoint makes people get shivers down their spines even more than just listening to this emotive rendition of this Paul Simon song. Doesn't it?

I remember the original version of this awesome song and I was not ready for such a change but I'm so thankful that my son played it for me. I get very emotional and cry every time I hear it.
