Average package was low because of absence of computer science discipline at that time. But now, average package of all disciplines is increased manifold. There are only few companies who restrict to computer science discipline, rest IT companies allow everyone. Non CS students can pursue minors in computer science such that they become eligible for 90 percent of IT companies.
@@mihir2574 no I have asked many people in IITs they said max cs companies giving good salaries open up only for cs/ee/ece not for mechanical civil etc
