Kevin is the man, your content with him has been some of my favorite stuff you’ve ever produced. It’s nice to see the unique ideas a high level chef has with wild game that your average dude (me) wouldn’t come up with
As a large buy with a red beard I have heard this so often... Of course never saying I knew my way around the kitchen but I pretty much hear it every winter when I am out in the snow and apparently I look like him
Thank you, to all of the team. Simply put, as an Alaskan I was raised to appreciate our shared lifestyle. But to see it documented, and executed, in such a wonderful fashion, and then to see a proper chef cook consistently amazing dishes... (I have 15 years culinary experience and ran a small specialty catering company for a while before Covid) it's inspirational and comforting in the best of ways. This team you have assembled, will help bring understanding and appreciation of the ways, traditions, and means, of a natural harvest and the conservation of said resources directly to the masses. You're doing a lot and doing it well. Thank you all.
These episodes with Kevin are fantastic! What a knowledgeable chef and he's giving these little cooking masterclasses for free! Plus you get some hunting stories to boot. Great content.
A couple of tips for the Naan bread, use a cast iron skillet, wet the bottom of the rolled out dough and press it down into a hot skillet, when the dough releases its done on that side, you need to see char on the bottom... you also need to brush it with melted butter once it's done cooking.
I love all of these episodes, but this is my favourite yet! I love how much reverence is paid to the animal and the hunt. Kevin absolutely did that ram justice! I could listen to him talk about cooking all damn day. Also, exciting to see Jani's infamous turkeys! Now I'm inspired to go grab my dabba masala and thaw some wild game!
Dude! Don't you guys have a Sawzall? Let's shoot for 18%! Awesome video as always! Best hunting education, culinary education, and all around great film-making on the Web! Keep up the great work! Mouth is watering,.
Great video. Always a fan of both of these gentlemen. I don't want to be the nit-picky commenter, but pulling that echo out from having multiple lav mics is pretty easy. I'd encourage you to research it and see if you can overcome it in post. Keep the videos coming! I'll be here, watching. :)
You don’t need a Sawzall Janis, but it helps to freeze the shanks first and a bone saw or hacksaw works well on frozen shanks. Another reason to freeze the shanks and then cut them is that the bone dust is easily washed off the frozen shank. What you guys did put the bone dust into the meat, and that’s gonna show up in the flavor.
Love that on-the-bone Rogon Josh. RJ is a favourite of mine. On the bone has to be even better, even if I can't get such a rare delicacy as in this video....
You guys should come to South Dakota, we have good pheasants east of the river, good grouse, mule deer, antelope, elk, and big horned sheep west of the river, and white tail deer and turkey all over the state.
@@gregkosinski2303 no, but we call the half of the state west of the Missouri River west river and via versa because the Missouri runs pretty much down the center of the state and its the biggest river here.
My favourite recipe for goat… 😍 if anybody gonna try pls don’t buy garam Masala packs most of it is just chemicals. Make yourself and enjoy… nice video guys 😍👍
Hiya, Good video, thank you. I'm re-reading "The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe" and your chef is a very tall dwarf, down to the red beard, mine is grey and far too short, mind you I'm 6'4" tall. Stay safe, Steve...
@meateater. The term Trotters generally refers to the actual feet. Luckily I saw the video first so I got the shanks out, I’m not sure how well this would turn out with trotters. Almost pulled some out had re reading this to make sure I didn’t miss you throwing some in.
Great video, it was just missing to see how the actual dish tasted! We got the feedback on the naan bread, but didn't get a review on the meat which was the star of the show
Points for - 1. Having a dabba and grinding your own spices (I also get lazy and use packaged spices) 2. Using copious amounts of butter - same as ghee. 2. Not burning the ginger and garlic (I sometimes still do) 3. Not using extra stock - not necessary with the spices being used 4. Naan. (It's a labor) 5. Finishing the curry with fresh dhania - a must. I thought you missed it but see it in at the end. **Bonus points for using cast iron cookware. I'm South Indian and try to be as authentic possible using aunts and relatives recipes, though I fuck it up sometimes. You made that so fucking effortlesly, I'm adding it to my recipe book. 📖 Great job man. 👏
Now THAT is how a real life pro would do it, not a TV/TH-cam famous pro, but a REAL pro (I've spent a few years working in a kitchen haha its amazing what you can do with a microwave)
Kevin has been a fantastic addition to your crew. I liked him way back in his Top Chef days which didn't even show this side of him.
Kevin is the man, your content with him has been some of my favorite stuff you’ve ever produced. It’s nice to see the unique ideas a high level chef has with wild game that your average dude (me) wouldn’t come up with
I never would’ve guessed that Yukon Cornelius knew his way around the kitchen.
Silver, gold, and wild game
That is such a niche reference

Loved the photos of Janis’ sheep. Food looked great.
Hey Clay!
These episodes with Kevin are fantastic! What a knowledgeable chef and he's giving these little cooking masterclasses for free! Plus you get some hunting stories to boot.
Great content.
Love Kevin’s response to the shop bought curry sauce question. Really good point and so true.
The cooking series is by far my favorite side project meat eater does. Keep up the great work!

That is the best answer to someone who wants to half ass the most respectful part of being a hunter.
These videos are so incredibly, peaceful. The video makes world better. Thank you so much
Loving all of this new content. The dish looks delish. Keep it up!
I’ve been honing my Indian dishes over the last year or so. Some of the best spices/ food on the planet! Great hunt, excellent looking dish
Love the emphasis on cooking with the effort you put in to the Hunt shows respect
Janis explanation of getting the sheep tag is awesome!
Can't get much better than Janis and Kevin. Add in a damn fine meal and you've just about got perfection.

As much as as I love the hunting episodes, I love the cooking videos the most
Cooking wild game is truly an art form. Appreciate it guys!
I hope we get to see more of that hunt
All those recipes look delicious!
Absolutely fantastic show
from india, this is pretty authentic. The attention to detail, i didnt expect from this channel.
Love the part at the end when kevin slaps the table and says I know I cooked it....! LOL super cool

I'm always here. What an amazing episode. Loved it. Go Janis. GO MEATEATER
I love these cooking videos. Great job to everyone and keep them coming!

Still waiting for Gordon Ramsay to join meat eater on a hunting/cooking episode lol
Best hunting video ever made!!!!
Looked fantastic! My mouth was watering.
Thanks for sharing janis
I can only imagine that is bloody delicious. My favourite curry I've ever eaten was a goat vindaloo at a Nepalese restaurant.
We need more Kevin. Guys a beauty
This is great. I'm making it for sure!
Keeping turkeys to learn their noises is genius!
Great video! Mutton rogan josh is a staple in the Indian Army.
I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!!
This guy is awesome! He inspires me to try more recipes with my game meat. I’m making this recipe with moose
Love this! Going to make it this week with wild goat! 🥘🥘🥘
Congrats on a nice ram and dang that looks amazing!
Thanx
Just, yum!! You had my mouth watering!
Great video.
That looks really really good
Props to Kevin
Looks delicious. Just needs some nice fluffy basmati.
Dude, Don’t you guys have a sawzall?
Great vid Janis!
You guys should come to South Dakota, we have good pheasants east of the river, good grouse, mule deer, antelope, elk, and big horned sheep west of the river, and white tail deer and turkey all over the state.
Do you only have one river?
@@gregkosinski2303 no, but we call the half of the state west of the Missouri River west river and via versa because the Missouri runs pretty much down the center of the state and its the biggest river here.
Dude I can almost smell it, I'm drooling
Kevin's back!! 🙌
WOW!! Awesome Video!! Congratulations on the Ram and what an amazing cooking video!! My mouth was watering!! 👍🏻👍🏻🤗🤗

I'm UK based and we have a few 'quality' domestic brands
I love Mouton In a stew,
cabbage, cellary, cellary root, beets
Awesome!!!
Oh man my mouth is watering 🤤

Stay safe, Steve...
You win the weirdest comment award
May be a odd place to say this but there is a song called banded clovis I really think Steve and jan would enjoy.
Love the cooking vids
Your the man...janis...
Pro tip: popcorn cooked in ghee is really good. You get butter flavor without burning milk solids or having soggy popcorn.
Hot Damn, that looks tasty! I'll have to fly Kevin in, if I ever draw my sheep tag, and have him whip some of that up!

Now I’m hungry 😂😂😂👍👍

I hunt feral sheep in Texas and I’ll definitely try this recipe next time I shoot a tough ol’ ram!
No one talks about the importance of the QUAULITY and FRESHNESS of spices. Good on ya chef
Sweet
Very cool. I’d enjoy a show on a good raccoon recipe. Inflation has me thinking about alternate protein and grease sources.
Yum
Man I can't wait to see this guy do squirrel!
This man knows what he’s talking about.
Well no sheep in ontario. Gonna try it with some honkers tomorrow.

Great job man. 👏
In the thumbnail Janis looks like he’s just been told a bad dad joke.
that looks delicious-
If you use a smaller saw when cutting them shanks, you won't notice the Particles of bone in the end product.
Nice
When did you guys film this?
I thought this was an Action Bronson collaboration from the thumbnail
Same here.
😂😂😂
Chef Kevin please share that naan recipe with us!
My hunting dogs jumped up when the birds started talking. Some good looking grub you made! Congrats on your successful hunt and a good meal.
I won’t lie to you janis, I 100% was thinking “why don’t they use a sawzall”
Dude, don't you have a SAWSALL? LOL!! 😀
Dont you guys have a sawzall?? lol! great video!
Is there a video coming of the hunt!?
Dude, don't you guys have a Sawzall?
Anyone know what he's using as a spatula?
Janis:It's not that spicy.
Well you know that tomorrow morning 😉😉
Janis will be pissed you called him Janice.
@@jackiekinner3826 thank you just corrected
Awesome Dish Kevin and Janis Helped LoL!
JO JO IN VT 😆💕
Dude don’t you guy’s have a sawzall 🤣🤣🤣 Jk Great Video 🤙🏾
I don't have a ram to make in too curry but I'll be making that naan bread
So if you hit a whitetail and salvaged the meat microwave it with whatever sauce packets you got rolling around the truck?
Now THAT is how a real life pro would do it, not a TV/TH-cam famous pro, but a REAL pro (I've spent a few years working in a kitchen haha its amazing what you can do with a microwave)
Have you tried hackzall?
Bighorn sheep meat is my favorite game meat. Too bad the tags are so hard to draw. I drew my tag in 2009. I wish I would have got a ewe tag as well.
Don’t you have a portaband saw?
