I always used to go via Calne to holiday in Lyme Regis- the pretty route! I remember going past the Harris factory! We visited Bowood ,picnicked in the grounds as the house wasn’t open. The chemist Antoine Lavoisier was the person who thought up the name ‘oxygen’ but the ungrateful French dispatched him in the French Revolution.

Great video Cara with lots of history. My mum worked at the Harris factory… remember it well as well as all the pork pie / ham seconds that came home 😊. I didn’t realise the history on the woollen industry links. Interesting how much history Calne has.

Hi Cara, beautiful selection of music.
Wow this Pig scares me to death. What to do with Calne? 1:32
I really like the drawing of the castle/house 7:15 Indeed it is not typical Castle.
    What is A4? 8:15
I have never seen a building so collaborate with vines..As if it is sitting in the enchanting world. 11:46 so rustic..
What's the discovery about Calne, Wiltshire...Thank YOU, Cara.
