That's incredible I wish I had one of those so I can flip throw and also take down my opponent it's all about learning your moves and techniques and no one had to take them down before you get takedown it's all about balance and knowing how to take control in command in knowing how to protect yourself in the situation comes up 🥋🇯🇵👊😉👍🇯🇵🥋
Looks like a lot of fun! I've been contemplating making myself a hodge-podge Guy-Fawkes-esque dummy for ne-waza drilling. Do you have any experience making ad-hoc dummies?
Is the point of the dummy just to add weight to the pop of your throw? I'm thinking about buying one to practice solo, but it feels like it would just fall over on its own and I don't really get the point of it.
My one weighs about 55 pounds about 23Kgs. I work on the actual throw or throws and looking at my own body position and how well i'm breaking balance? How heavy it is is irrelevant in the long run? Believe me. Having one thats 150 pounds or 70Kgs is no fun!!
Does anyone know where exactly you can buy a dummy/dummies like that, that are suitable for Judo. I've never seen one. Seems like a great idea for training! Another question can someone please tell me the throw that is being used at approx 0:44 - 0:46? My knowledge of Judo is limited and can't recall seeing a throw like that before.
+franklin wei aha - thanks! I can see it now and with the hand over near the neck, but, I didn't know you could roll over onto your opponent like that. That's definitely something I've never seen done before!!!
+BeyondGrappling Checked out that link they are very pricey though with only the one model available at $699! Anyone know of a cheaper option, preferably in Australia?
A little weight goes a long way. Consider that it is completely dead weight. I bought a grappling dummy for ground drilling and wanted the heaviest I could find - paid a shitload in shipping, and man that thing is hard to move around
I really identify with that grappling dummy.
This is basically me in randori.
LMAO roll into it buddy
You will improve
Epic comment
What did you fill the dummy with to get it to stand up straight and did it take a long time? Thanks, it’s a great training tool!
I'm considering buying one of these so I can train during quarantine/ social distancing
Me to

Great video bro, I can't wait to buy one of those dummies I've always liked judo.
