Hello, Tangier is a very important and popular coastal tourist city for Moroccans. You won't find an empty room in a hotel or an apartment for rent in the summer. The place is very lively and crowded. In Morocco we have mountain towns like Jabal Tabkal and Ifrane, which are very beautiful, and very important coastal tourist towns such as Tangier, Caponicro, Martel.Fnideq, Al Hoceima, Nador, Mohammedia, Lake Marchica, Essaouira, loved by Moroccan Jews, Agadir, Oualidia. Even Moroccan desert cities have a sea that Europeans love, especially surfing in Dakhla. Unfortunately, most cities are only lively in the summer, but you can visit them in 5 or 6 months. The weather in the spring is pleasant. and the fun in the summer is more beautiful.

Hello, there is a misconception that all Arabs are Muslims, and this is a mistake. There are Muslim Arabs, Christians and Jews. If you visit North Africa and the Levant you will find mosques, churches and synagogues for the Jews, and this is present in abundance in Morocco and they are used to it. As for foreign tourists, we in Morocco know them very well because of the geographical proximity between Morocco and Spain. We have a large number of French, Spanish, Chinese and foreigners. -Saharan Africans with us, you will not feel like a foreigner in Morocco

I hope you walked on Merkala as well, great for running to. And somewhere in those hills above Merkala there is a very famous bar where many artists came to have tea (and smoke some weed) back in the 70s.

The emphasis is on the second syllable in Rabat. At one moment you walked right by Scott’s, a famous bar with the expats in the old days. Not long ago there were few cars in the street. More donkeys. The king has an affection for Tangier and has consequently put considerable money into the city. The port, parks, paint, etc. I preferred the scruffy, less globalized Tangier. Paul Bowles agreed with me though he first came in ‘37. Now it’s the Internet, cell phones, cars, and NY Yankees and Gucci caps. Yet thankfully fewer hijabs and veils. Cleavages are not uncommon much to the horror of the conservatives. Going from Morocco to Egypt one sees the difference in modernity as far as women go. But, alas, no ta’miya ( falafel) and foul sandwiches as in Egypt!

Berbers are white Africans and there are alot of tribes fron ancient egypt to Morocco (wich means west in arabic). Berber and middle easternes have the same rooth that gave three ethnic : middle easterners (hebrews, arabes, syrians and so forth), berbers and ancient Egyptians (about 20000 years). They belong to the semitic branch and berber alphabet is similar phoenicien. Tangier used yo be called tingis (founded by phoenicians). Volubilis was a famous berber city (not roman) but roman settled there. Like celts or germanic tribes, berbers tribes were in cosntant fight berween each other. Morocco became islamic before arabs came. He was never conquered. Later many populations mixed with populations : many arab tribes most of whom coming from islamic spain. Note that spain was conquered by berber islamic morocco. There were vandal and Portuguese ports in morocco. Mainstream morrocans are berbero-arabic. In the south, berbers mixed with subsaharian africans wich led to darker skin. Note that moroccan jews share nearly the same road (native jews mixing with spanish and even some.russian jews). Morocco is one of the oldest country in the world. It was never conquered by ottomans and it stood against omeyyad orders. Morrocco was a huge empire (from niger to southern france and from atlantic to actual Tunisia). Almohades dynasty. Even with France, it was a short protectorate not a colony. Morocco was impossible to rule by a foreign nation because of its deep power structure (ancient empire). Morrocan cosntitituon recognize jews heritage and permit specific juridictio' for both religions when its religious matters (mariage, heritage etc). Morocco protected its jews during ww2. Casablanca is the most liberal city and historically open to the world. It is the economcal center. Tangier is growing fast.
