Hey champ love ya work i have a question iam wondering if you have any experience with either a 243 or a 25-06 iam thinking about buying a lighter rifle for just fallow and iam looking at these 2 bullets as a benchmark ive currently got a 30-06 but its just 2 much gun for the little fallow i shot one 3 weeks ago it was facing me at 30 meters hit it low neck and the bullet went all the way through it and just made a mess of its guts its too powerful of a cartridge thats using a 150gr winchester ballistic silvertip any and all information would be good iam curious what your opinion is

Mate ironically its the larger Cals that di the least damage...
Example. A solid .358 250gr wont expand as much as a 70gr .243 or 110gr .257... especially due to fast velocity light pills, sooo its a tough decision your faced with.. its more a shot placement discussion RE how much gun is too much?
I just had a guy post aboit how my 35 whelen is 'nit enoigh gun' for fallow... he is taking the piss... but in yoir situation...i lost 0 meat ....so whos taking the piss now

Im guna say , use a 180gr or so an you will lose less meat at close range an even out further as expansion is less ....less resistance to open it up...

@@HillDogTV i agree with you about shot placement and in a ideal world every deer we see is 50 meters away dead still and broadside but you know yourself sometimes when stalking you get the shots your given its either take it or watch them bounce away ill take what your saying about using a heavier grain of bullet and I do have some 185gr that I put in the gun when iam looking for reds or sambar thanks away for your thoughts your a good egg and I really appreciate you getting back to me
