      a b I mean some people lift weights to look good and again increase strength. And yes doing those workouts you listed such as the heavy bag and pad work will indeed help on punching power reflexes and mobility, but will it help you lift things off the ground like simple things? Plus some people don’t have have the intention of fighting or learning how to.

    IMPORTANT: As for high reps vs low reps, do them both for isolation AND compound exercises. Yes, it's easier to see weight increases for low rep compound exercises, but high reps build up muscle capacity thus supporting low rep progression. Remember even it's only one additional rep it's still progressive overload.

      That’s why I do reverse pyramid training for all my compound lifts (a vital tip I learnt from Kinobody). After your warm up, do set 1 with your heaviest weight for 4-6 reps. Drop the weight by 10kg and do 6-8 reps. Drop the weight for set 3 and do 8-10 reps. Has helped me so much.
      Example:
      Bench Press
      Set 1: 120kgx5
      Set 2: 110kgx7
      Set 3: 100kgx10

    4:42 Low Reps, I absolutely agree. I decided to do weights, didn't know how many reps to do, I did low reps incase and gained muscle quick

      Low reps for compound movements like bench and deadlifts but higher reps for isolation like flys and curls. At least that’s what the studies say. Do whatever works for you.

    3 to 5 reps is for strength. 8 to 12 is for hypertrophy. There is no right or wrong range depending on your goals.

    I've been lifting for years. This is great advice. My reps are more 5-8 but great advice. Make sure to focus on diet too. Food is 80%+ of muscle gain. Great video 👌

    You should be doing lower reps ~3-6 (strength training) on compound lifts - ie; bench, squat, dead, millitary press, incline, rows etc, and then higher on isolations (8-15) ie bicep curls, lateral raises, tricep extensions etc.

    Should do it based on the rep range, that works best for you low or high.

      Calisthenics = higher risk of injury

    When going for 3-5 reps you’re basically lifting for strength, but if you want to practice hyper trophy and build muscle 8-12 is the option.
