I'm playing through most (if not all) of the Resident Evil franchise and giving my opinion on the music, mechanics, story, gameplay, enemy , art design and everything else in each game for most of April. Trying to get hype for RE8 :) I'm playing multiple categories in a few games but I won't be uploading them due to flooding my uploads.

Have fond memories about this game. May not be the best of RE games, but it takes me back to when I used to play with the little brother. Better, less stressful times...
This Marathon made me go to my grandparents house, dig out my old n64, resident evil 2 and actually take time out of my busy af life to enjoy to enjoy it.
I never clicked so fast on a video. I have this game too I also love about this game is the music especially the save room theme.

Considering this is like a proto-RE4... it's actually kinda impressive how much of a leap this is in design from the fixed camera angle era to 3rd person era. Like, the skeleton of a good game is *there*.

Dead Aims save theme is insanely good.
What I save from this game are: atmosphere,save theme,zombie design,female Tyrant and the fact that it's a Survivor-like game but done better.
Not that it really sucks but you must play it for fun,liking the atmosphere and using the Guncon to experience it a lot better.
Fun fact, Dead Aim was developed by Cavia who would release Drakengard later the same year, and if you know anything about Drakengard (even the newest one) you wouldn't be surprised that Dead Aim came out so weird and jank.
Cavia also made Umbrella and Darkside Chronicles which explains the tippy-top of the cranium headshot point, I guess?
I remember playing this game i love the ship map but after the ship it was a bit different... The game was short.... The zombie's are well designed for me ..... Especially the blood splatters

I love this game, it was one of the first re games that I've played and completed. Also is one of the few re games that i played without knowing anything about it beforehand, all in all for me this game is a cool side story in the re canon. That being said I agree 100% with all the criticisms you made

When I was a kid, my dad would play all the RE: games and I loved it! It's really cool to see someone play it after all these years
I remember getting this game in a box set with the gun con? Box set light gun included...instantly held a place in my heart and made me wish all RE remakes would make this a thing..as not the case but still a low key unique treasure to me in RE games
this game's intro music is perfection, hell the whole intro looks like the x files lol. also the cutscenes i think are pretty and afaik this game has slight stealth elements, some zombies can be snuck past and if they hear you or see you they go red for a moment to let you know they went aggro, gun survivor 4 heroes never die (weird fucking title lol) is pretty fun all things considered.

The subtitles for Bruce seem more like what Leon would say, as if they made the entire game with Leon in mind and had to make a new character because they couldn't get the go-ahead to use him and never changed the subtitles to match the new character's voice acting.

I like it a lot, but is more because my dad used to longplay this a lot back in the days, and since we are brazilian we didn't undestand a thing they said,so we never knew how bad the story is, and we also skipped all the cutscenes for the same reason,so he played a lot until finally completed it and since memory card wasn't something common here he longplayed everyday after so he coud be like "I did it and I will do again just because I had trouble in the first time"
I was 6 yrs old when I picked up this game. I was scared as shit even the front picture scared the crap outta me. Even though now I can't play it. It's got some real horror vibes
I remember being terrified shitless by this game when I was a kid. The atmosphere is still top notch (atleast on the ship) but the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired. Ammo management is really easy if your aim is consistent and that evade mechanic is at times broken and at other times awkward.

I would just like to say im a Resident Evil fan and i have been watching your playthroughs of Resident Evil games for about 2 years now on youtube because i just got the Internet put into my house 2 years ago and im hooked lol. I dont really use twitch because i dont have a pc but i can use it through my ps4 but its abit of a hassle to use it on there, thats why i stick to youtube. I saw what you were saying about youtube being a bit worse then twitch for people giving bad and negative comments but i was just wanting to say that i think your awesome. I want a CVX remake but even if it is considered bad. Remakes if done properly are supposed to fix issues with the original so hopefully Capcom decides to remake it in the future. (I wouldve preferred it to RE4 Remake because original RE4 is still a great game)

I like this game! I played with the original guncon and I think it really enhances the fun. You should try revisiting it with the Sinden Lightgun, which is a modern guncon that works on LCD displays.

Female zombie scare the hell out of me once in this game second one being Forest speyer zombie in the director's cut. They both almost gave me a heart attack.
Played this with the light gun in the dark with a friend when I stayed over at his house. Not the best RE, but good brainless fun, and I always loved the blood spatter, oddly.
Are we going to see RE darkside chronicles? I don't think you ever played it in your channel.

What a game! You're a "Don-Gua" and battle against torpedo kids and glimmers. What more could you want? Disappointed I missed out on this gem.

Actually, this game give you freedom using controller beside normal dualshock and guncon. I try use guncon on 1st slot controller + DDR pad in 2nd slot controller as movement and voila ! I have arcade RE 😁
You can play together with your friend too use mouse 👌
Morpheus transformation is the coolest in the franchise imo
This game is the equivalent of post-SH4 Silent Hill games ripping off SH2. 'Yo let's have a smug guy with medium long hair and an Asian chick in the same game and have them interact with each other. No RE game has ever done that before'.
Got through the whole video "I am going to play a resident evil 1 mod" legit the most exciting thing in this video. No offence bawk. You can only make trash look so good. But now I'm sad the reai one mod isn't here

I like the environments would have been great as the setting for a higher budget one.

Capcom CEO - "So, it's on a boat? Can you make the boat look like a mansion?"
Dev - "Umm....that doesn't make much sense."
Capcom CEO - "Yeah, but all our games have mansions, or are set in places that look like mansions. Also, can you put lots of zombie cops on the boat?"
Dev - "Why would there be lots of street cops on a boat?"
Capcom CEO - "It doesn't matter. Resident Evil 2 sold well and it had zombie cops. We've come to the conclusion that the main appeal of the Resident Evil franchise is mansions and zombie cops. Gamers LOVE mansions and zombie cops. Oh! And don't forget to put a lab area at the end. They have to fight the final boss in a lab."
Dev - "What?!??!?!?! But it's on a boat!"
Capcom CEO - "Meh, whatever, all our final boss fights need to take place in some kind of lab. You'll work it out..."
Capcom didn't develop this one though. IIRC this was from the time when they'd kinda "rented" the rights to the main RE series to Nintendo so all they could put out on other consoles was spinoffs made by whoever charged the least, which was Cavia this time.

Commenting on Last of Us remake talk lol, Last of Us 1's gameplay has not aged well...it was mediocre when it launched to me. They could do so much to tweak it in a remake.
See I read somewhere that Morpheus looks like that cause of all the surgeries and implants he had done, to maintain his "beauty" and youth.
I don't know if that's actually true or not but it's always what I thought, virus doesn't mix well with implants cx
Pretty sure its a fairly interesting game, but i completly lost interest at the 7min mark since there's no creepy, scary classic Resident Evil music.
Think i'll go watch the Code Veronica run instead wich is one of my all time favorite RE games.

I dont think this game is bad, yeah characters(design) SUCKS , the guy that made the subtitles was on drugs, level design is "bad" if you see the game as a normal RE but is not a normal RE , is a action game. there is no point adding serious backtracking or complex level design puzzles on this type of game because it goes against the gameplay premise. But actually level design is really good on an artistic level , is very detailled with good designs and good textures, graphics looks dated but are really good for the time ( this is a "early" ps2 game guys) and you can make them look really GOOD (nearly ps3 quality) if you mess with the emulator. Gameplay wise this game had the best gameplay of all RE before RE7 arrived , ofc things can be improved like headshots not being only for top of the head but still is good, music is really simple but good, ambient is good even if it sounds like a baby Trex on some parts(🤣). With all the bads and all the goods is one of my favorites, but i am kinda weird , i love old survivor too and hate RE4 with a passion so...
The game doesn't feel as good as RE4 if an action game the intended result, like just have old school level design with this kind of combat and put more limits on the medical items and ammo.
