I so enjoyed seeing your organizing! And I laughed when there was your adorable child's "Uh Ohhhhhh" and you paused just a tick. I could see you glancing without seeing you glance, and then you went on. It was great to hear a kidlet in the background, because lots of us juggle multiple distractions, and I remember o-so-well trying to write around a two year old!
I just love watching videos of people’s writers notebooks! Still trying to figure out my ideal system as I go between different planners and different notebooks. 👍🏻
It can take a while to figure out the direction you want to go. There’s a lot of information out there and it all matters on preference! Best of luck to you finding a system! I hope my content has been helpful to you in your quest!
Haha! Yep! I like them too much to give them up just for odd looks. When Halloween comes around, it get a little excited because it means I can get home decor and lots of skulls!
I just got my first TN as well and am loving it. I didn't even think about threading the elastic through the spine of the notebook. Note a bad idea. Also I've seen people tape pictures on them and use them as a place for clips instead of on paper. I got the clear pocket dashboards just so I could change things out when I want. otherwise I'm with you and don't really understand the point but for decoration.
Thanks for sharing. Your so organised. Can you share how you plan before you write a novel? I have always wanted to pariticipate in Nanowrino but never know how and where to begin.
Hey, Mumina! I'm so sorry it's taken so long to get to your comment. I've been posting a lot about NaNo Prep over on my blog and those posts have the best resources that I've found for prepping. Go check it out! thegingerwordsmith.com
Have plan Jane cheap binder but I. Trying get into my journaling again for my Bible study work and just venting journaling and ur first seen with my love for skulls where can I get one or least diy make one
I got this from an Etsy shop! I put her shop link in the desription of the video. She was really sweet when I asked her if I could plug her shop. Highly recommend this one!
I think the dashboards allow you to look at and change pictures you like in the front, or storage for sticker pages. The laminated dashboard serves as decoration, but you can stick sticky notes to it for future use. Also you can add your own pockets to it. Target dollar spot has sticker pockets and Midori pockets are on amazon.
Hey, Amber! I'm so sorry it took so long to get to your comment. I've been prepping for NaNo and it's been crazy! I have a video about my original journal if you want to go check that out and I have a blog post about it! Let me know if you need any other resources!
Not sure if anyone told you or if you learned it somewhere but the really thin paper is Tomoe River paper. It’s a Japanese paper, people watercolor on it and other things. Look up hobonichi planners, they use that paper. If you learn you like it it takes up so much less room than regular paper. Just an FYI. 😀
Do the notebooks easily come out? Like, if you didn’t want to carry the giant TN, of had a purse that didn’t fit that... is it easy to just take the BuJo out ?
The way I have it, not really. But you can totally set it up so that it would be easy! Just but it through one of the straps, rather than looping the strap through the spine.
Classically, the notebook is just slipped under the elastic with half the pages on each side of the elastic; so yes. You just slip them in and out as you need them. I have a stack and put the inserts in and out as I feel I'll need them for the day, particularly if I'm taking my writing out to a cafe. I don't always need my ideas insert, for example. If you thread the elastic THROUGH the spine of a larger book, then it's a bit more fiddly to get in and out. Hope that helps!
Fox!!! I love that insert! I found BuJo first before TN, but I combine the two. I have 1 BuJo journal I keep collections in and the other I keep everything else in and then I made my TN. I have yet to purchase any inserts, but I love the look of yours. When I finish filling my BuJo, I might switch to inserts.
So I've asked this in a couple other videos but can you get relatively good quality notebooks (of this type) for not a lot of money. I was watching this one video and I believe they said it was kind of a large amount of money

You can keep post its and washi samples on your dashboards. Since its laminated, you can put anything on it that is removable.
Thank so much, Louise! I’ll have to try that!
You can also put it under the page you're writing on so you have a hard surface and you don't leave impressions of your writing on the next page.
Your kid sounds really cute. I'm thinking about getting something similar. I just got my first bullet journal, the Artist's Loft from Michaels.
Okay that cover tho... YAAASSSSS! Well done and keep up the good work.
Thanks, Meg! Are you a skull fan, too? I get odd looks because I love all things skulls. Thanks for the positive feedback! It's really appreciated!
Zoe Fleischer oh yeah. I get the odd look as well but ya know what? I like them. I feel no shame about it. [

Thanks! I got the idea from BoHo Berry, but I wanted to use it in mine!
I like the idea of putting clips there, too. I have some super cute bull clips! I need to get my hands on a pocket dashboard.
For me, laminated dashboards are of sticky notes, either holding blank ones or a place to put filled ones. Love dashboards.

I use my dashboard for sticky note quick scribbles that I transfer in somewhere later...
Would you do a video on how you set up character sheets?
You can stick post-its to your dashboard for quick reminders. Or stick blank post-its to it so you can move them into your inserts as needed.
Oh! I hadn’t thought of that! Thanks, Jenna!
Most of the dashboards I've seen have pockets to add stuff but I don't know what they are for.
I’m SO CONFUSED! 😂 Yeah! Most of the dashboards I’ve seen have pockets. This one and quite a few others don’t! I don’t understand! Haha!

I. trying to set up a writing notebook for resources, what did you have in your original journal?

i’ve seen dashboards with post it’s stuck on them so you can have page markers

Oh! That makes SO much more sense! Thank you so much Lisey!

I love the foxes, too! I highly recommend the TN system with the Bullet Journal! It’s working really well so far!
