This is such an awesome journal! I love the whole key plot section thing and the hero's, but as an overall this is such a fabulous bullet journal! Thanks for this. :D

This is really an inspiring Journal. I like the said and the word tracker goals. I think you would enjoy The Weekend Novelist, it has some fantastic ideas for keeping track even further of things like subplot, objects, characters. You have inspired me to look at my planner a different way.

Thanks very much, I read an article about writers struggling to keep track of details so decided to create a layout in my bullet journal.

One writer to another, don't use all those words in place of said. Said and asked are invisible, and often you don't even need them. But if you use said bookisms constantly, you're holding your story back.

At the same time that the original comment isn't wrong... sometimes 'said' isn't what you really mean and doesn't carry the sense of action you might want. So... use appropriately, but don't be afraid of 'said'. :)

shelleyotube I put an action with the name of the person who's going to be speaking. An example:
Cameron glared at Susan and slammed the door. "What do you mean all of our money is gone?"
Susan cowered in the chair. "The real estate agent turned out to be a fraud."
Cameron ran his hands through his hair as he began to pace. "Unbelievable! I knew we should've went with a reputable agent, not some business in a mall!"

Yes, this. What I've been told is that if you're using something other than 'said', that's the equivalent of telling rather than showing. Through the actual words they say, the context, and the surrounding actions, it should be clear if what they 'said' is admitting, demanding, etc. :)

"Bastards and Bitches" lol! This could be a humorous take on Dungeons and Dragons.

As for the different words used in the place of said, I try not to use any of them. That page would be useless for me personally. Instead, I have a character do something and mention them by name if I want the reader to know who is speaking. That's just my writing style, though.

I like the way you color coded the words instead of said according to connotation!

Have u ever heard of The Story Grid? its a method invented by Shawon Coyne. Very similar to what u did, only better. U might like to take a look and perfect ur style =)

Lovely video, but as a writer I am telling you, rarely, very rarely, should you use a word apart from "said" to indicate speech.

Dwywaith dair just use said. Any other word would lose the flow in your writing.

So agree. Try using action beats instead of constant said.

Watching with volume off as there is a lip smack after every page transition.
