My son, who is a man sewing in training (he’s 6!), has been wanting to make scarves for Christmas- I think this will be right up his alley!! Straight seams, lots of practice keeping them even, I think it’s great!
I love the 70's sorta "Welcome Back Kotter" vibe these have. Always loved that palette of color. These also would be pretty with a contrasting color as a border that is crocheted for a feminine rustic feel. But I'm a crocheter. I believe anything looks good with crochet on it XD
great idea, thank you so much, my oldest son travels a lot and wears the heavy wool dress costs that look great with a scarf, I was just thinking I needed to start looking for his Christmas present, a scarf.........and then here you are..........he loves my quilting and sewing, I know he will love this scarf.
Hey, Jenna, I taught both of my boys how to sew when they were only 4 and 5 years old!!! I put my sewing machine on top of a piano bench so they could very easily control the machine at their own level, while sitting on small chairs in front of the machine. They only made stuffed animals at that early age, but later on were able to use the sewing machine to do mending and make other creative projects.
Oh, this is just great, Rob! My father was just telling me how he's worn out his old wool scarf. He's going to love the soft warmth of the flannel! Thank you so much!!!!!
I love this idea! Thank you ! I think I will add an xtra piece for the seam allowances and sew my raw edges to the outsides . I think this would be really cute like a " rag quilt" scarf! I love flannel fat quarter bundles!
Rob, this video is great just like all of yours are. I love the idea of the different colors for the scarf. I live in So. CAL. so I really don't need the flannel most of the time so I will try it with a lighter weight fabric. Fun as usual.
Oh that's so great and easily to do. Now I prepared for the coming up autumn season! Thanks so much for your video and great greeting from Berlin, Germany!!!
I like the blue color combo of that thing you have hanging in the background and the angled looking design from my view, can you make a scarf like that?
I love this scarf tutorial and I want to make these for my two sons for Christmas. I managed to find the bundle you used (last one in stock, whew!) but I need to ask as a beginner in quilting, etc. what size/number needle will my machine need for this project? Thank you!
Sweet, thanks Rob!! What dimensions would you suggest if one were to make this for a child? Or, what would be the best way to determine that myself? Are there basic infinity scarf making "rules"? Thank you!!
Thank you for the great tutorials. What size and type of needle did you use? That flannel looked pretty thick. I'm just not sure if I need a huge top stitching 100/16 or a quilting 90/14.
This flannel bundle is EXACTLY what I was looking for for a quilt and I'm so sad it's out of stock! Is there a way to be notified by email when it gets back in??
Hi Alexandra! I'm so sorry that this bundle is out of stock. Missouri Star Quilt Co has a selection of the Shetland Flannel yardage in stock, and you can find it here: www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/browse/9502 Hope this helps!
Hey Rob beautiful choice of Fabrics and dying to make some Infinity scarves, however I found the instructions a bit confusing, is it possible ta do another one and just make the cutting and sewing a little mor clearer or e-mail me one! Thanks Luv all your time you give us!💟🇨🇦
Hi Susan! Thank you for tuning in! Here is a link to the free PDF: www.missouriquiltco.com/land/mansewing/patchwork-infinity-scarf/assets/flannelinfinityscarf.pdf Does this information help? Let me know if you have any questions.
Hi Rob thanks for the tutorial ,question I like my scarves wider and made with cotton(I have a texture problem don't.like flannel) could I adjust this and anything I ,might need to do differently? Thanks again
Darling scarf Now an inspired dynamite kitchen tablecloth of these shapes, with be joined. Those clips by Clover should be ordered from you, by your viewers. No longer does one get pin pricks and pain. :)
The scarf you are wearing looks like it is wrapped around your neck twice. Is it the same size or longer than the one created in your tutorial? For my second question, what is the name of the blue/green quilt on the wall? Is there a tutorial for that one?
Hello! The scarf I am wearing is exactly like the scarf I made in the tutorial. The quilt hanging on the set is the Color Strata Quilt, and you can watch the tutorial here: th-cam.com/video/gGwGPd11_Lk/w-d-xo.html Thanks for tuning in!
The flannels you show are different than the ones that are in the list . The ones in the supply list have no red or blue. Like the ones you are showing in the tutorial. Where can we get the ones you are using. Thanks.
Alanda Babb. I didn't see them at all . Not even marked out of stock. Which is usually how it is on your site. That's why I asked. Thanks for answering.
Have you considered making a scarf from 2.5 inch strips? I have a roll of Kaffe woven 2.5 inch strips and this may be a great project for that fabric. thoughts?
Hi Bob. I love your videos. Thank you. Just a thought --- you said don't twist the scarf before you join. However, if you did you would create a Möbius strip (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Möbius_strip) which would truly make it an infinity scarf! Would love you to try it and show us.
It was a super popular bundle, but if you would like to use the Shetland flannel, there are lots of choices here: www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/browse/9502 Hope this helps!
Love your Tutorials *S* But saying 'twisting' this project is 'bad'???? What you get then is a Mobius scarf *S* A scarf that 'nobody' can find out how you did *S* I havn't sewn one yet, but i have knit a few *S*

Another fun sewing tutorial, Rob! Your enthusiasm is contagious! RK Flannel looks beautiful - almost like a soft wool!

I'm sure your son will love his flannel scarf, Janet! Can't wait to see what you create! :)
I just gave my son (age 6) his first machine sewing lesson. I think we will aim toward this scarf being his first creation! Thanks!
That is fantastic! I cannot wait to see his scarves!

Perfect idea to make one each for complementing my fall, winter and spring wardrobes. Thanks for sharing!
Have fun sewing, Teresa! Can't wait to see your creations!
Thanks Rob. Great tutorial and a wonderfully warm scarf! I know I'll be making these for our grandkids for Christmas . Maybe the big kids too.
It only took about two hours to make this, start to finish! Great idea and techniques. Used some Christmas Flannels. Thanks Rob!
You could easily add a hidden pocket to this scarf. I love the flannels.
Oh........ wowza, great idea,,,
I love this idea! Thank you ! I think I will add an xtra piece for the seam allowances and sew my raw edges to the outsides . I think this would be really cute like a " rag quilt" scarf! I love flannel fat quarter bundles!
Rob, I love this scarf. Thank you for all your videos.
LOVE this! What a fast project, and perfect for gifting. Thanks again Rob, for a great tutorial!
Awesome! Great project and excellent cutting tip! Thank you!
You could add in a zipper where your finished edge is and create a secret pocket, perfect gift for travelers!
Great idea!
Wow what a terrific idea! I like that a lot!
What a great idea!!!
Really like infinity scarfs! Your color combinations are beautiful.
Why am I so addicted to this channel?
Thanks for tuning in, Stuart!
Because Rob is so charming! He also simplifies his teaching with sharing his smiles. Cute as a bug!!
Fabulous tutorial...I've been saving wool plaids. This is just the project for them. Thanks.
Can't wait to see your scarves, Nancy! Have fun sewing!

That's a versatile scarf! Hopefully, our weather will cooperate with wearing one...LOL
Good ruler tip, thanks Rob
That’s a great Christmas gift Ideal
LOVE IT!! definitely will make some!
Would love to have the PDF. Any chance it's still available? The link results in a 4040 Not Found error.
Ohhhh i like that I'll need to give it a try ❤️
I like the blue color combo of that thing you have hanging in the background and the angled looking design from my view, can you make a scarf like that?
I'm usually a wool fan, but this looks like a great project. Think my wife will steal it?
Haha! You'll have to make her one so there is no chance of that happening! :)
I have a layer cake of these wonderful fabrics.......I think they should work nicely , just will have more colors
Definitely! I can't wait to see what you create!
Just in time to wrap up diy gifts! ;)

Hiya Rob Amazing tutorial than k you so much (smile)
these infinity scarves are really nice but can you show how to make a neck gaiter?
Thank you for the great tutorials. What size and type of needle did you use? That flannel looked pretty thick. I'm just not sure if I need a huge top stitching 100/16 or a quilting 90/14.

Did you wash the flannel first?
I'm Ready to give it ago, 💯💯💯💯💯
Hi Rob thanks for the tutorial ,question I like my scarves wider and made with cotton(I have a texture problem don't.like flannel) could I adjust this and anything I ,might need to do differently? Thanks again
Hi Linda! I think you could easily alter this pattern to make them wider and with a cotton fabric. Hope you have lots of fun making these scarves!
Darling scarf Now an inspired dynamite kitchen tablecloth of these shapes, with be joined. Those clips by Clover should
be ordered from you, by your viewers. No longer does one get pin pricks and pain. :)
I love this pattern. Can you reload the download. The link is not working. Thanks.
Rob, what kind of iron is that? Haven't seen it in this quilting hinterland!
I feel like the infinity scarf with the t- shirt is the equivalent of Uggs and a skirt/shorts.
Cuanto mide la bufanda terminada, de largo y ancho, gracias un abrazo desde mi Colombia

No washing first? Flannel usually shrinks
Hi Kaitlin! If you are concerned about your flannel shrinking, feel free to prewash. Hope you have fun making these scarves.
Have you considered making a scarf from 2.5 inch strips? I have a roll of Kaffe woven 2.5 inch strips and this may be a great project for that fabric. thoughts?
That could be a fun project! Have fun sewing!
Rob, what number needle will I need for these? Thanks!
Hi Joyce! I used an 80/12 sharps needle for this project. :)
Good, I have those. Thank you!
Hi Bob. I love your videos. Thank you.

MSQC: Suggested fabric: Out of Stock Forever ????
It's a shame the bundle used is out of stock already!

That sounds like a fun project, Mona! I may have to try that out! Thanks for tuning in!
I'm so confused 😬
Hi Kaitlin! Are there specific questions I can help you with? Thanks for tuning in!
Man Sewing the cutting went kind of fast for me but I just watched it again and I got it!
