Boat trip from Sandiego, CA to San Jose Del Cabo. This video is some of the highlights including boat troubles....naval ships, dolphins and several ports along the way
Very Cool vid. Curious what kind of boat is it? And how many gallons did u start with in San Diego? Also what was the gph average for the whole Trip. Lastly what month was the passage?
Nice video, very inspirational. I have a 28 ft project boat nearing completion. It has a single Mercruiser 454 I/O with a 100 gallon fuel tank. Best cruise I believe to be on plane between 25 and 28 mph, depending on how much weight is on the boat. My question is this, how was fuel availability on the way down? Assuming a best cruise of 2 mpg, that gives me less than 200 mile range on a full tank without bringing along extra fuel. Also, did you stay on the boat overnight on anchor, or pull into a marina on the way down? My boat has a forward cuddy, and aft cabin under the helm. Thanks for any info.
did you find out about gas in baja? i have a 27 ft with a single mercruiser 5.7 mpi (fuel inj),85 gal fuel tank 2.2 mpg at 4k rpm 28 to 30 mph (i was thinking trailering down to san felipe) and start on the sea of cortez.
Dude, your video gives me some inspiration to take my boat to Cabo! Nice vid!

I am curious what was wrong with the engine, those yamaha in particular are very well liked back east.
Probably bad gas. Outboards don't like it at all. It's a major problem over in the Bahamas too.
Did you stop at night or keep riding?
