Can we appreciate that Star and Moon, both at maximum power, couldn’t defeat Meteora, and Moon’s almost-victory was luck thanks to distraction. Meanwhile, Eclipsa didn’t even exert herself to defeat Meteora with two spells, and only needed one!
While the last spell wasn't really a spell that needed strength to defeat it's enemy. But if it was like that it would be because star already took down most of her health
@@lucy9698 only Meteora was temporarily blinded. Star didn't really injury her, neither did Moon. So ya Eclispa really did take down her daughter on her own with out much effort.
Maybe because Star and Moon aren't real descendents of the royal family ? :/ Or maybe they couldn't strike down someone who had constructed an emotional shelf her whole life. The only one who could still hurt her emotionally was her mother, maybe that also weakened her physical strenght. OooOoOr, that's just because both Meteora and Eclipsa were alive for much longer than Moon and Star

On the subject of Eclipsa learning to dip down,considering the realm of magic was «corrupted» by Moon's presence (going from a pure gold (Star's magic) to a dark purple (Eclipsa's magic),I wouldn't be surprised if Eclipsa ended up learning how to do it,since this seems to foreshadow something. Also,if the MHC was afraid of monsters learning how to use magic,it could mean anyone is capable of using it (ex : Marco using it,Moon and Star as a whole despite not being of royal blood).

I think people are forgetting the fact that despite having cheek marks, star and moon aren't actually butterflys, their ancestor festiva was given the wand and was forced to be the queen of mewni by the magic high commision, where's it's eventually shown that meteora and eclipsa's ancestor that no doubt originate from earth came to mewni via accidentally through the realm of magic but due to the realm of magic's effect of making people forget they probably don't remeber. That and the wand is meant to channel magic from the realm of magic and since eclipsa's ancestor was soaked in liquid magic it's probably why they're so powerful with or without the wand as we've seen.

I think it's because the first time eclipsa wasn't using her full powers because she didn't want meteors to die
