“We promise to try not to break anymore knives” - proceeds to baton with folders lol. Love you guys because I can relate hahaha! Never change DBK. Never change.
I second that. Instead of looking for a movie like I'm used to doing when I want to relax, I'm watching you guys now. You really make my day better. You're informative and comical. That's so very rare.
I discovered your channel just recently, which is unbelievable since I love knives. I am binchwatching all episodes now 😂. I carry the Fallkniven Pcx P concept in CoS steel. Love it! Very light but strong and easy in the pocket.
That pearl handle is gorgeous! It was great watching these two knives going head to head. But also, hoo, watching the batoning, my stomach was in knots. 😆
Oh hey, speaking of testing knives from the same brand against each other, I'd love to watch Extrema Ratio Selvans match off against both the the ER Kukri KS and ER Kukri KH.

Really happy I discovered Tools for Gents through this channel, just bought my trc South Pole from them and couldn’t be happier 👍
My edc for the past couple years is a Todd Begg Glimpse out of the California Custom Shop. Great channel guys I always check your channel first for the new videos or just watch some of the older ones especially the Cold Steel Espada XL folder that I happen to also own and the LG also both with the aluminum frames like yours and glade to see you didn’t break it. Thanks
Awesome video as usual 👍 My EDC = Cold Steel/Taiwan Voyager 5.5" clip point plain edged. Backed up with Victorinox Scout. Carried for left handed use. In my EDC backpack is Cold Steel TaiPan VG1 SAN MAI set up to carry SOB left handed backed up with Glock #81 field knife attached to outside of EDC backpack. The Ontario 18" machete, folding saw & Estwing hand axe are kept in back of the Chevy Suburban. Thinking of retiring the Voyager with Espada XL G10 as it's replacement for EDC primary. Saving up now while still undecided on which Falknivan knife to add to my pile. Your videos are paramount to making my final choice. Looking forward to more outstanding content. Thanks again & best wishes 👍 from 🇺🇸
For my EDC: 8-9 out of 10 times since about 2015 will be Cold Steel full-size AK-47 folder/ Back then I purchased 4-6 of these at $50/knife. Still EDC-ing the first one despite losing the Demko thumb plate. That said... it made me use Loctite on all the rest of my Cold-Steels w/ this feature for loss prevention. For my multi-use... the Triad Lock design on a folder is the greatest strong-suit benefit.
My EDC is a Leatherman Wave+ Modded with a second saw that replaces the file and a awl from a Leatherman super tool 300 that replaces the pry-bar flat head.
I’ve around 300 folders, but my favourite EDC is my TK3 in desert ironwood. Unfortunately, locking knives are not allowed for EDC here, so I have to be very careful and always have an Enzo PK70 on hand for public use! I also carry a Fallkniven U4. It’s also technically illegal, but it’s so small and plain no one has ever noticed.
Before I got more into knives and steels and brands, my EDC was a SOG Trident in desert camo. Was a Christmas gift and lasted me through Boy Scouts. Nowadays however I always have my Benchmade Freek in pocket or in my bag. Love the size, feel, and style of it 100%. And I have you to thank for biasing me into buying it when you were covering it in your videos!
I too have both the super freak models one in M4 and one in S90V one being stainless and the other a tougher high carbon steel and while I do love them both I find that the hogue Ritter is just a better and smoother knife seems better built and higher quality plus it cost alot less so im not scared to beat on it so much lol
Hi guys, really enjoy your channel, just sold my LT Wright Genesis and Doug Ritter by Hogue mini RSK and waiting for my first Fallkniven, TK3 in jigged bone, Fallkniven are even sending some bandaids 😎
your tk3 survived batoning with no blade play while mine came in brand new yet having quite a bit of blade play and a off-centered blade when opend, I am literally gonna cry now
Great video, I always carry as EDC the Victorinox Spartan (most used tool...the bottle opener)and the Buck 112 slim or I change the Buck some times for the Joker Pachón with 12C27 and Buffalo horn handles
I have a few nice folders and I rotate which one I carry. My EDC knife for over a year was the Spyderco Paramilitary 2, for the last few months my EDC is the Benchmade Griptilian with custom scales.
Most carried knife is my lowly Opinel no. 8 in carbon. I have slimmed / squared and contoured the handle. It meets all of the light duty tasks that I'll typically require. Love the thin razor of a blade for cutting up food for my kids while we are out. Best suited because I live in a hot weather climate I wanted something very lightweight but with a decent length of blade that I won't hate riding in the pocket of lightweight shorts.
Another great one.... I almost had heart attack when you baton those beauty knives... YIKES. You guys are my fav channel.... Oh.... I carry a Spyderco Yojimbo2 with CPM S30v Works for me. Ready to change it up tho.
Mickey for the WIN!!! The knife I've been running lately is the civivi Asticus it's only d2 but as a tradie cops a flogging. I do have to clean the bearings every now and again to keep it smooth.
Haha I love your guys’ spirit! I laughed so hard when you batoned the folders! I’m currently carrying and testing out a Spyderco PM2 in Cruwear after carrying a Cold Steel American Lawman last. My favorite and most carried folder is the 4-Max. I just love that knife.
My edc knife was a gift from my partner so it dosent get to abused on the more humid days i carry something different but at the moment happy with the spyderco pm2 tanto with m4 steel i did put arctic storm carbon fiber scales on it and a ripps garage teck bottle opener backspacer
Hello guys. My ADC is a Leatherman Surge, as a knife not to brag about but I personally have use for the pliers and screwdrivers. And yes in a emergency you can actually cut something with the blade. And I don't have to carry a tool roll when I'm riding my motorcycle.
I have a rotation of EDC knives: Spyderco Para3 (lightweight with M4 steel or regular with M390), Hogue Deka with 20CV Wharncliffe blade, benchmade Bugout with m390 steel
The knife i have on me virtually all of the time is the fehrman shortstop neck knife in 3v. Its a quarter inch thick slab of 3v and i love it. Everything else gets swapped out fairly regularly.
My EDC changes from week to week. Currently a Benchmade 940 in D2 steel and Carbon Fiber and Ironwood scales. Next week it will be my Benchmade Bailout Tanto in M4 steel. I have that very knife you have Maarten in Elmax and it's so sweet! Keep up the excellent entertaining videos my brothers!
I'm currently edc a microtech ludt because it is ground so incredibly thin and slicy yet microtech is so good with their heat treatment that is still being thin is able to hold up to any abuse I put it through but I also carry a spyderco ukpk in lc200n and in the bottom of my pocket is always my case xx copperlock but I've got a magnacut native 5 on pre-order and also a hogue Deka in magnacut so I'm excited to get them into the rotation and test them out...
My most used knife, is the Manly Patriot in D2, which even though I've sharpened it a lot the last 5 years, it's still look as if I haven't removed any steel! They literally do the best heat treatment on D2 steel and they also make the best full flat grinds out there, that are super thin behind the edge. That doesn't only provide cutting performance but also the geometry won't change to really fat, as you sharpen that knives through the years! If only they made a bit thicker handles, but that's an issue wtih most if not all production knives (except Morakniv and Ka-Bar/Beckers)
The usual fun vid guys - I really look forward to seeing your uploads - omg decent weather in Holland too!? My EDC is all of these depending on the time of day, Spyderco in K390 (so hard to sharpen) whilst I'm pottering around. My Falkniven Taiga Hunter in Lam.Cos when I'm out walking our 5 dogs (I keep it and a Silky pocketboy in the dog walking bag. And my Real Steel Luna in D2....on my car keys.
I edc my own hand made fixed knife in a leather belt sheath i handmade for it. Use it for packages, food, playing around, cooking etc and it always performs. Love it to death.
I carry a spyderco Endura in K390, or an Endela in CPM-20CV (American M390). I mostly use them for opening packages and making lunch, it they are robust enough for outdoor use as well I’ve batoned with the endura because I wanted to see if it could do it.
Loved this video guys, not least because I also have the PXL (black) in my EDC rotation and think it's brilliant for the same reason - that convex grind is just unbeatable, and pretty unique in a folder. I rotate this with a Bugout, Spyderco Sage 2, Fallkniven GP and an Adamas depending on where I'm going and what I'm going to be wearing. Also keep a Victorinox Rangergrip 79 in a pouch on my work PPE pants, purely because it does the job and I don't mind if I trash it.
G'day M & M, as Marten mentioned, for EDC a lot depends on your clothing for the day. But if I can only have one, make it the Recon 1, drop point in S35. Cheers Duke.
Wait a minute, hold everything, it just hit me! It was driving me crazy but now I realized who Mikkie reminds me of and they both sing in a band. Tell me he isn't the twin brother of Justin Hayward when he was young!
I just got a job teaching people of varying ages survival, bushcraft, and outdoor skills and I either always have the spyderco manix 2 or more often I carry the ruike p135-sf. Both are great knives and sharpened to a convex edge. My fixed blade of choice is the falkneiven s1 pro. The spyderco is very old and can take a beating and the ruike is cheap and able to be used for whatever is needed without much concern for breaking it even though it is the strongest budget folder I have handled
I carry the spyderco Domjno the most it’s around $200 carbon peel handle on one side and a titanium frame lock with steel insert on the other side nice big bellied blade thin and slicey edge and grind CTS-xhp steel holds a great edge sharpens fairly easily the only downside is that it’s a flipper and the detent on the blade isn’t strong enough to fire that blade out with a twitch of the wrist but u get used to it .
Pisses me off significantly that this channel doesn't get more views. Keep at it guys i'm sure you'll grow, especially lately with everyone scared of nuclear apocalypse and trying to get into bushcraft and survival sort of stuff. this is one of the best channels on TH-cam these days. Also I will tell you my edc but don't make fun of me pls, I carry the small Gerber Bear Grylls fixed blade... I know. I got it as a gift a few years ago and it fits very well into my pocket so I carry it instead of a folder since my folder got stolen when I was robbed (I live in South Africa), its a shame about the crappy steel and cheesy BG on it but it does work fine for things that I need a knife for like cutting the wires off of hay bales and the like. In the bush I carry my mora and a panga.
Always fancied a PXL - nice present! I think the new ones are Elmax or something.. My EDC is a tasty Desert Ironwood Enzo Birk with an s30v flat grind. I take a couple of Helle folders out with me when I go picnicking - they're lovely knives - I have convexed one and keep the other scandi.
I almost always carry a Hinderer XM-18 Spanto 20CV. I have 200 or so pocket knives, rotate through a few others, but i love that knife in particular. When I'm working outside or camping I add a TRC South Pole to that typically.
Oh hope you guys were able to get your DBK knife out to Virtuovice. Would love to see his take on it. Sadly since I was not able to get your awesome knife in time from your Kickstarter. I had no choice but to get the next best thing. Ordered from Dulo to get a Dulo DBK knife. Not a High Grind like yours but I think it suffices to know I have a DBK knife of some kind. And he is starting to dabble into Magnacut. He now has very long wait lists. Had to wait 7 months for my Dulo DBK Knife get finished. But he has to finish now my sheath. I ordered 2 sheaths. But if you guys ever make another batch Im gonna try to put my name in for it the next time.
I Carry over 10 Years most of the time my Victorinox Compact. Best EDC ever. And now it is convex, because of the lot of stropping on my belt. It can make feathers really good. :-) I tried other knives. But hey, a compact is a knife plus 14 other tools. It´s hard to beat by just only a Knife. ;-) For Bushcraft i take my Trapper Scandi O1 Knife with Green Micarta. It was a Making Kit for 70€. Best Bushcraft Knife for the Price!!!!!!!!!! and a Trailmaster or Forester Wood, because of the Saw. On my Key is a Midnight Manager. :-)
I carry either a spyderco stretch in zdp-189 or a spyderco endela in k390. I love both knives and although the stretch is probably my favorite, the endela is very ergonomic and thin as well. So far k390 has been my favorite steel in a folder because it just stays sharp forever, even a little better than the zdp-189 in my experience, although zdp is not far behind.
I have always banchmade griptilian in my edc pouch, and I love to use him but knife which I carry always in my pocket and I use every day is victorinox hundsman. I know it hasn't have a good steal but it has a lot of different tools wich I use a lot. It's not perfect but it has a soul wich is connected with me.
This episode was good holsome fun thank you guys for being you 😁😁 also my edc is generally my Bark River Fox River in 3v or for "fancier" occasions my CRKT fossil both are great knives in my opinion but I really love my Bark River Knives the best.
Great Channel with top notch Content👍 I have used the PXL Workhorse on Work a long Time, leally great Knive. You cant go wrong with a Fällkniven at all.
In the last year outside of work, I've been carrying in order of most carried Heretic Medusa, Microtech utx 85 Se edge half serrated, Kizer GTI, heretic wraith, boker kalashnikov xhp blad, and kizer domin. Just got a Chaves street redencion yesterday and the nostalgia of this knife brings me back 20+ years. It's similar in handle to two knives I bought in 2001. Those knives were carried until I broke one blade and the handle fell apart on the other. Frankensteined them together and eventually that broke too. They both had chunky blades, not sure what crap steel they were made of. Dulled super quick. I think combined I spent less than $35 for the pair. Why would I compare them to a Chaves? I do because I've spent years looking for something similar in build to those knives, only this time the knife is quality built. I believe this will be my main edc for the foreseeable future. I love it. I just can't say enough about it. I like the skull clip too. Feel like a kid again! I have a pretty big want list, but now any time a different chaves pops up that will jump to the head of the list.
And thank you for making your videos. I've made several knife decisions based on your videos and added quite a few fixed blades to my list based on what experiences you've both had with many knives.
I usually alternate a Baby Banter or a Sypderco Native 5 with Spy 27 steel. Some days I go with the R2D2 if I think I will be doing dirty or harder work. Love all 3, and this channel.
EDC is a Ka Bar Turok with a 12 Ranger band handle wrap, front scout in 1095 Cro Van. Disappears under a largish T-shirt. Just got my DBK XL Winterpeen in the mail. Thanks from Texas, Bubba-C
I carry and love my Fällkniven U2 every day. A little smaller than your knives, clearly less weight and much cheaper, but also in 3G. It is a bit brittle, but if you take care it is ok.
Good video guys, you asked what knife I use for my EDC? My benchmade 940 Osborne in s30v ( naturally nicknamed Ozzy ) although your EDC knifes are fantastic.
I carry around a Ganzo FH51 D2 steel. it's the cheapest folder I currently possess however I like how it feels in the hand and the multiple grip options it offers. crazy value for relatively 20-25 euros.
My EDC: Cold Steel AD-10. Amongst every other edc task: Yes, I do baton with it, no problem. Love your videos, guys! Greetings from the other side of the polar circle.
Spyderco Para 3 in CruWear is generally my go-to smaller knife that I'll carry for light/medium usage, but when hiking I usually have my Cold Steel AD-10 in my pocket. It carries surprisingly well in my shorts pocket (as everyone knows the clip on an AD-10 is super tight, but my shorts material is super thin so it all works out), and I don't even notice I'm carrying it even after 10 miles. I may have other knives in my pack depending on where I'm going, but the AD-10 is my last resort in case I need to stab a mountain lion in the head before it mauls me to death. I did finally sharpen my Para 3 after 3 1/2 years - took around 20'ish minutes to get to a razor sharp polished edge (it was still decently sharp after all those years, but not quite hair shaving sharp). Now....for my "car bag", I have a Victorinox Handyman and either an ESEE Xancudo fixed blade or an ESEE Izula 2.
Most recently I've been carrying a Ontario rat 2 in D2. Great little budget edc. I also tend to carry larger folders regularly such as the cold steel Vaquero Voyager xl and a 6 inch cold steel ti lite.
In spite of having Benchmade Freek in M4, Benchmade Griptilian 551, damasteel keychain folder, quite a few Victorinoxes/Wengers and quite a few other folders bought for myself or my wife actually I use for my EDC... Tekut Zero in 12C27. It's like having Zero bulk in your pocket and comes in ~ stainless mora steel. Being so cheap and easy to sharpen I don't really care to lend it around or even abuse it myself. Bought mainly because in some places I'd have to lay off my knife before I enter to do my job and it's both a not-so-bad knife and I won't cry over losing it. Maybe one day you should try it out and see for yourself if it's worth anything. Altough tbh when show-off is a factor I always carry the DBK BR Aurora in CPM3V or BM Super Freek. Cheers guys and keep up the good work, your videos are always a nice thursday gift.
Are you guys going to review the Cold Steel Rajah II in AUS-10A steel? It's BIG! With a Kukri blade for chopping, cutting, battoning. A nice, big, thick, strong blade. It's right up your alley.
You should one day do a real EDC knife challenge (no bushcraft involved). Stuff like cutting Apples and Pizza, opening boxes and stubborn packages. And definitely doing stuff that shouldn't be done with a knife, but many people do anyways, like cutting electrical wire, opening tin cans, using it as a screwdriver and more.
Please could you try to get your hands on Camillus&Becker BK77 Extreme, the last blade they made before Camillus bankrupted and Becker went with Ka-bar around 2007, it was made only one batch its very rare. I have one unused but it's too dear to me to never sell it.
I'd like to see you guys test a good old Buck 119 or 120 or 124. Not exactly a high end knife but it's lived ita long life and served its purpose. Nothing like the heat treat used by Buck. Good edge retention and easy to resharpen. Just like my EDC Buck 110. In my pocket since 1979
Good edge retention for a 420HC steel relatively speaking but compared to most other knife steels even Bucks heat treatment leaves 420HC near the bottom of the pile. Still really easy to keep sharp though with just a polishing steel.
“We promise to try not to break anymore knives” - proceeds to baton with folders lol.
Love you guys because I can relate hahaha! Never change DBK. Never change.
We cant help it!!
Thank you both for keeping us entertained and our own knives safe!
you are more than welcome. thanks for taking your time watching our videos!
You guys have one of the greatest channels ever, not just knife channel, but overall!!!
thank you so much tim
Agreed!
I second that. Instead of looking for a movie like I'm used to doing when I want to relax, I'm watching you guys now. You really make my day better. You're informative and comical. That's so very rare.
Seriously ? Have you heard of Survival Lilly. Maybe you should rethink these lies you are trying to spread.
@@biilybutt9016 🤣
I have carried the same Vic Spartan since 1977.
6:32 Excellent surprise, but this song deserves a dedicated video! Very entertaining video overall...
Thanks guys. Having a folder is a must for me especially at work. I bounce around from knife to knife to keep things interesting!
loved the blues guitar :)
I love my cold steel recon 1. I can cut everything. Paper, tape, nails, gypsys. Very light and durable.
I had the old version with an axis-style lock, one of the best knives I ever owned. I've been wanting one of the newer models with the Tri-Ad lock :)
still using a literal slur for romani people in this day and age is absolutely insane
I'm now officially a member of the RKC. I've watched and liked DBK videos for years, but it was time to get my Patreon. Keep up the great work, guys!
Congrats! You didn't break anything!

The Fallkniven F1 is my EDC. Reliable beyond belief. 😎🔥👣
Good choice 👍🏻
Same here but paired with a Fällkniven PC folder.
You always make my day with a smile and a laugh. The best part is I actually learn about different types of steel, and how to break a knife.
My EDC is a Leatherman Wave+ Modded with a second saw that replaces the file and a awl from a Leatherman super tool 300 that replaces the pry-bar flat head.
Love my U2. They make a great knife!! So sharp!!
i’ve always loved knifes as a kid so nice to know there’s people like y’all
It's amazing how slight differences in knife design make for a easier fire preparation
I’ve around 300 folders, but my favourite EDC is my TK3 in desert ironwood. 在中国带锁的是管制刀具 不知道其他国家也这样吗
where the hell do you live!? prison?
@FukTheGender Agenda i'd brexit tf out of there and carry a machete around my waist wherever i'd end up.
Thanks guys I carry a victroix hiker just a knife a saw and a can opener but I swooped out the tooth pick for a ferro Rog

I really like that tk3 mop, so sweet.
Also REALLY like the look of those lamb chops.
Great looking food. I always enjoy seeing what people carry. I’ve been edc-ing a Grimsmo Norseman almost every day for eight months.
I have a few nice folders and I rotate which one I carry. My EDC knife for over a year was the Spyderco Paramilitary 2, for the last few months my EDC is the Benchmade Griptilian with custom scales.
I absolutely agree with Fallkniven.... held my breath during that batonning.
Genuinely one of your better videos I don't know why

Thanks guys for excellent and entertaining videos, my EDC is the giant mouse ace Farley, small, light and conforms to UK carry laws
I’m not into bushcraft that much. The EDC that I’m trying is the Otter Beemaster knife.
I would love to see you guys review Ruike frame locks since they're much more budget oriented and great for outdoor use
I carry the Fallkniven PXL Workhorse in CoS.
I alternate my EDC between a Benchmade 940 Osborne and the Benchmade bug out. I love them both for different reasons.
My edc is a victorinox ranger with black scales.
It´s hard to beat by just only a Knife. ;-)
For Bushcraft i take my Trapper Scandi O1 Knife with Green Micarta. It was a Making Kit for 70€. Best Bushcraft Knife for the Price!!!!!!!!!! and a Trailmaster or Forester Wood, because of the Saw. On my Key is a Midnight Manager. :-)
Should check out the new trapper in 80crv2 I have two and they're absolutely incredible very tough steel...
@@kevinAuman1 Do you mean the Trooper from Brisa in 80crv2 ???
I carry several knives in rotation, but my favorite is a Spyderco Sage 5 carbon with Compression Lock in S30 V.
Not sure how you do it but your videos are always fun! Keep up the great work🔪🔥🔪🔥🔪
I have always banchmade griptilian in my edc pouch, and I love to use him but knife which I carry always in my pocket and I use every day is victorinox hundsman. I know it hasn't have a good steal but it has a lot of different tools wich I use a lot. It's not perfect but it has a soul wich is connected with me.
I carry a WESN Microblade on my keys every day. Titanium liners with D2 steel. Great little fidget knife.
Al be seeing you guys tomorrow at your show thanks for the advice use gave me on coming over to Holland keep up the good work
Whoa ! High praise from you guys ! 😀
EDC is a Ka Bar Turok with a 12 Ranger band handle wrap, front scout in 1095 Cro Van. Disappears under a largish T-shirt. Just got my DBK XL Winterpeen in the mail. Thanks from Texas, Bubba-C
that’s an absolutely ridiculous knife to EDC there is no way you need a 6 or 7 inch long knife everyday unless you live in bum fuck nowhere
@@acid6urns
No, just a great knife for big hands in a state that has freedom for open carry. Don't need it, love carrying it, have nice day dude!
Hi guys, my favourite edc is the Sabenza 21 in s35vn of Chris Reeve
Best EDC EVER and I mean EVER made is the BUCK 110! enough said OOORAH!
Need a Cold Steel folder for pocket knife batoning. Any of the Triad locks can stand up kindling batoning without batting an eye.
EDC - Opinel No9, which I've carried for nearly 20 years 😁
Spyderco Para 3 in CruWear is generally my go-to smaller knife that I'll carry for light/medium usage, but when hiking I usually have my Cold Steel AD-10 in my pocket.
I’d like to see Ull review a Medford folder. I think it make for an interesting video! 😂
My Benchmade Bugout 535BK-4 Aluminium - i Love it
Are you guys going to review the Cold Steel Rajah II in AUS-10A steel?
It's BIG! With a Kukri blade for chopping, cutting, battoning.
A nice, big, thick, strong blade.
It's right up your alley.
I carry a lot of different folders for EDC. Lately, the limited edition Mini Adamas with micarta.
My favorite EDC is a Zero Tolerance 302 my wife bought for me for Christmas years ago...
I carry a Kershaw Cryo. Not the fanciest knife but I like it. Its been my edc for the last few years.
My EDC is Schrade drop point fixed blade, made into a neckknife.
Long time fan like most people here, love your stuff!
I usually carry the Civivi elementum or the Spyderco tenacious 👌
Please could you try to get your hands on Camillus&Becker BK77 Extreme, the last blade they made before Camillus bankrupted and Becker went with Ka-bar around 2007, it was made only one batch its very rare. I have one unused but it's too dear to me to never sell it.
Spyderco PM2 Maxamet. It's getting a beautiful blue petina. Sports a Casey Lynch deep carry clip and my own paracord fob for pulling from pocket...
