Senior 6’3 217 lbs
Texas A&M QB Kellen Mond is the most prolific QB in Aggies football history. Not saying he’s the best, but he holds the record for most career passing yards, passing TDs, yards from scrimmage & is tied with Johnny Manziel for most total TDs. In a very good QB class, Kellen Mond is starting to get some hype. Chris Simms lists Mond as his 4th QB in front of both Justin Fields & Trey Lance. He also doubled down & said it wouldn’t be “crazy” if the 49ers drafted him with the No. 12 pick in the 1st round.

This is the perfect guy for Josh's system. This is Cam with a better arm. Look at our O line. Why you want a pocket passer? A run game is most dangerous when the QB can run. He could easily rush for 1k and throw for 3800+

People gotta realize, Mond didn’t have any recievers this past season. He lost his top 3 targets, Quartney Davis to the draft, Ausbon opted out this year, and Buckley got injured before the season. He didn’t have elite recievers like these other top qb prospects do.
If he had top receivers, they would say he's a product of his weapons just like they're saying for Mac Jones. It's the dumbest shit ever but people really think mac Jones looked good mainly because of his WRs

they drafted travis jackson, joe webb, teddy and even ponder could run..
@@j333l8 none of them has Monds athletic ability. Minds ran track in high school and was the fastest player in his conference before going to college. Teddy and ponder could run it but when they did it was only for 5-10 yards 15 max but this guy can easily cover 15 yards and even get a td with his speed.

I want the 49ers to either trade up for Justin Fields or draft Kellen Mond in the second/third round this year!
Or we can grab a QB with our 12th pick then move back into the 1st round and grab something else like a OL or CB like we did last year. Because if Kyle truly sold on him being our potential franchise QB then take him now, do not wait because the NFL draft unpredictable. Personally my 2 favorites are Mac Jones and Kellen Mond.
Mond is way better than fields. That release alone is top tier. Didnt play on God squads like fields and actually can go through reads. Played all 4 years in the toughest closest NFL ready conference

If the 49ers draft either Mond or Jones as our QB I would have no complaints whatsoever I've been watching these 2 since last November.
@Matt Every team wants an elite QB the 49ers are no exception that's why they paid Jimmy all that money last time because they thought he was the one. They could've drafted Watson or Mahomes that year in the draft 2 more elites but fail to do so (even though I understand what Lynch was trying to do). I believe they will draft QB because Lynch has taken of the other 2 positions (CB & OL) by signing Williams, Mack, Moseley and Verrett. The only one left is the QB position because every other position is just adding more depth which we need of course but we don't need to use their 1st round pick to do so..
MN Vikings needed a mobile QB. Will work out well with the play action an Mond can keep it, give to Dalvin or throw to JJ😛

I'll be honest and say that I judged Mond on his past lukewarm performances but as a senior he has really refined his game. Previously I saw him as a 7th rounder UDFA but now he looks 3rd-5th round potential.

His college highlights are damn near IDENTICAL to Mahomes’.
Mond has a lot of potential but this is silly. Mahomes has incredible awareness, which is one of the big reasons he is so good. Mond absolutely does not have that sort of intangible. I don't know the actual number, but it felt like every game Jimbo would have to call at least one timeout per half because Mond didn't know the playclock was at 1. He's also hold onto the ball for what felt like an eternity every drop back. Ainias Smith and a VERY experienced OL are the only reason he had decent numbers this year. A lot of his development (getting better every year) was because his OL grew with him. Mostly seniors. Which is a huge deal in college.
I'm not saying he won't develop into a good QB but he's not Mahomes.
