Thank you Richard for taking care of Simon and Emma on their first big journey! What a life those pilots must have led, on the one hand so isolated, on the other hand taking over the care of the big ships and bringing them safely through.

Always a thrill on the first long trip. I did a maiden 200 mile voyage with my boat last year in March from Long Island to Delaware. Stopped in Atlantic City overnight and won some money to offset the fuel. The first day was 30 knot winds and 6 foot seas. Quite an introduction to motoring on the ocean.. The second day was sunny and calm. Even saw a whale. A lifetime memory. Glad your trip was safe and pleasant. Good luck.

I'm so happy for you! Getting Boutari was superior decision. It enables you to be on the water and enjoy the boaing life while you work on the labor of love that is Sarinda. You're also honing your skills in preparation for Sarinda's launch and operation. It was bittersweet watching this video. I once owned a 32 foot yacht with flybridge and twin screws very similar performance to Boutari. Was gas engines and used on the Erie canal system and finger lakes in NY USA. From my marina I had actual access to anywhere in the world by water. I could travel in the Great Lakes and St Lawrence Seaway and the Hudson River. I miss it very much and watching you on Boutari flooded back memories.

Congratulations. Great feeling tying up at home after that trip. Tiara makes a great boat. 32 open owner for several years. They handle beautifully. You’ll find maneuvering in close quarters easier than you think and docking a piece of cake. Idle and shift in and out of F & R will spin on a dime. Can literally navigate port and starboard with throttles alone no wheel. And nothing like a beamy Tiara wake. Good luck.

Wonderful, I enjoyed that so much. I was born in St. Asaph and spent my first 36 years in North Wales. I've been in the US for the past 30 years now, and this made me feel so homesick. I know those waters very well! Mind you, it's a lot warmer here off the coast of North Carolina. Cadwch eich pen uwchben y dŵr!

Simon & Gemma, What a great trip Never seen the sea so calm,So pleased to see the boat run so well . and fuel consumption sound good too!! Brought back memories!! I've done the same trip twice (once Power Once Sail) but in the other direction from DICKIES at Bangor to Pwllheli. When we had a Merry Fisher 805 based in Dinorwic we did quite a few trips to Llanddwyn Island and also the otherway through the Swellies up to Puffin Island and a trip around Anglesey, thats one you should do!! Also sailed from Deganwy a few times once around Anglesey and once to Ireland . Coming back into Conwy at night was a challenge trying to pick out the Buoy lights from the lights ashore!!!

I could see the pleasure and relief on your faces too even with the frostbite!. Fabulous clam/bright day to pass through some stunning parts of the UK. Makes you feel glad to be alive.
Two out of three of your boats serviceable now....at least it isn't all work now.✌

What a stunning voyage. The Menai Strait railway Britannia Bridge (the arch one) was built in 1850 by Robert Stephenson using wrought iron box girders. It had a timber and pitch roof which caught fire in 1970. The steel arched replacement carries road and railway.
The suspension bridge was built by Thomas Telford and opened in 1825. It’s the world’s first suspension bridge. Almost 200 years old. Wow!
There’s some serious history up there.

-6 🥶🥶 -2 worst it gets in Geelong freezes the bird bath solid into a skating rink. But Boutari looked a real sight sitting on the water ☺ In 'er element, you might say. Good value Richard, 'his area' what he don't know about 'his area' probably isn't worth knowing. 10metres 32.8084ft, nice shallow draft on Boutari. Nice place your Home Port. So how long did it take, to get home? 20:56 by vid, 4 hours real time. Nice! Hope somebody picked up your ride to the other Port. Rippa Richard came too. Thanks m8s and Richard, stay vertical Eh!

Beautiful, beautiful journey... I have been following you since the beginning but this trip was my favourite part. The sea state was so calm, the sun was shining and there were no other other boats to bother you. I am so looking forward to your docking video, this is something that's bothered me for a long time. Our boat, a 26' single engine cruiser was almost impossible to steer at slow speeds. It had a strong Volvo diesel engine mated to a duo prop. As soon as you engaged gear, the props dug in and off you went, it just made life impossible, especially is a tight marina. Because of this we sold the boat which was a pity because for the most part it suited us well. I definitely think your setup will give you pin sharp control but it will be interesting to see how you master this crowd pleasing skill.... Just love what you are both doing.

Maybe a fix for the glove-fingers-on-screen issue would be to get a stylus with a string attached, like those pens in banks and such, that would be at hand when you need it but dangle out of the way when not? CONGRATS at home!

Top buzz, well done. Autopilot? Open the book of manufacturers instructions and see what they have to say about initially setting the system it up. Go through the process of resetting all the recommended values on a calm day. First make sure there is no ferrous metal near the internal/external compass.
A little tip if you will afford me. When you come away from the boat, take the transom plug out of the tender and then lower the transom fall to leave the punt inclined as best you can. Rain watter tha knows, rain watter.

After cleaning and repairing all the small problems and inconveniences on our 70's Pacemaker, we had Felix build a tube frame to enclose the open rear deck and got a cover with roll up sides and screens made. When rafted up, our boat became the hang out in very sunny, rainy or buggy weather. The roll up panels allowed a breeze on nice days and we could still fish...
