Katherine, I have to say thank you to you. Thank you for being a true mom, and when I say true mom, I mean the kind of natural mom that is mentally and emotionally able to step up and give that motherly hug to someone who isn't your own biological child. I'm one of the lucky women who grew up severely abused but now that I'm grown, I was lucky enough to find an "adopted" mom, like you. Timothy's siblings have my deepest sympathies. They were soo traumatized and abused by that momster that they did everything they could to avoid her. Unfortunately, it meant not seeing Timothy as much as they wanted. I guess they were hoping she was not abusive towards him like she was with them. His father should be facing neglect charges since he did not care to check on his own child. He had parental responsibility to make sure he was okay.

Have you watched the whole trial? She was a 16/17 year old abused girl living in a different state when her 15 year old abused sibling died. The boy was in the father’s responsibility! The mother was a know abuser who lost custody. The father had the legal duty to inform the authorities that he had send Timothy back. Either he would have been monitored at his mother’s home or put in foster care. Or maybe the CPS would have taken a hold on the older siblings to say what was going on. He would be alive. The father played dice by deciding to ignore the law and the facts. And the siblings went no contact, I hope you continue to live a sheltered life and never know the pain it takes to make you need to go no contact with family.

    • @michellelowe7082

@healthycathy9782 it's not only family that has a responsibility to report abuse they see. I've heard people say " but what if I was wrong" . I'd rather be wrong then find out a child was killed because I did do anyway. I live a far from sheltered life lmao. Neighbors, teachers, family even strangers don't want to get involved so they end up doing nothing and this is always the result.

I know it’s been months since you had to stand and deliver this speech, but I came back to it today because you are still on my mind. You spoke so beautifully I was moved to tears. Your love for Timothy is evident, and I know he is smiling down on you from heaven- of that I am absolutely sure.
I know you’ve gotten so much unasked for advice from strangers, but if you can stomach just a little bit more, I need to say this: As your life continues- in the coming months, years, and decades- please remember that you don’t always have to be strong. It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to admit when you are hurting and “just not okay.” Don’t let yourself become numb to your emotions or unable to have deep feelings, like Paul. And not once did I see a single tear from that evil mother throughout this entire case. I'm so sad that such a beautiful child had to endure such torture from their mother. My own mother abused me so this is very painful and personal to me. This evil woman has an ugly past but for her attorney to have the audacity to use it as an excuse is unfathomable. Reality is she didn't care that much about Timothy. Sometimes family don't care enough, they live their lives and left siblings and even parents behind.

She was a 17 year old abused girl when her 15 year old abused sibling died. You should be ashamed of yourself. • @sarahosborne7698

His eldest brother and sister were both in transitional periods of life (a newlywed and fresh college student) and not on close terms with Shanda (though he was allegedly a normal weight at the wedding a few months before his passing). I haven't seen it mentioned whether Timothy ever had social media or a phone, but it's clear that the isolation was part of the abuse as it escalated. She went to great lengths to make sure the relatives who lived close by never came into the house in the months leading up to his death, tracking phone locations when she knew they were coming to the house to pick up her youngest child. While this doesn't change how Timothy probably felt abandoned and how no one (especially Paul or Timothy's biological father) stood up to protect him, I understand how blindsided his loved ones were. She had him in her "care" for little over a year (~14 months) before he died. This entire situation is sickening but the timeline especially hurts, that she was able to do so much damage in that time.

Both his older brother and sister have made brief references to problems with their mothers parenting during their impact statements… in the car being taken by CPS? Thought she had changed for the better? Obviously she’s had a lot of issues being a good mother for a long time. and instead of getting better she just got better at being a bad one. I had a brother like this, that’s why the story has impacted me so much. He is also gone. Died at the age of 18. Because my mother couldn’t handle his “behavior“ and kicked him out of the house on the streets to fend for himself, he didn’t last two weeks.

Millie deserves top honors for her statement; in almost any other public platform, she would've undoubtedly received a standing O. Above all else my comment will include is this: Millie just delivered a full circle moment for me. Hollywood could not have scripted a more fitting way to end this trial. SHE just gave Timothy, his life and death and the looming shadow of unthinkable tragedy that all but engulfed the few brief glimpses we've been given to feel any connection to HIM .... I'm a little taken aback but in a good way. as in a way that made me feel Timothy's life has been properly recognized in court for the world to see, and her words and ONLY her words are the piece of the puzzle that eluded my sense of justice in this case. I'm so glad she spoke. Im even more in awe of her ability to give a SELFLESS statement that was all for TIMOTHY. She could've probably used that time to highlight more of her monstrosity of a mother and no doubt additional abuse she endured as well as her siblings. She could not have made a more beautiful, deserved statement about her little brother than this. She blew me away, and other than the judge who took a few moments before sentencing to let us know why he withheld some of the skeletal photos from the trial and opted to show one of the few in existence of Timothy before his mother slowly and systematically dismantled his entire being, I am always following a trial of some kind, but I don't follow them all. I've been a bit numbed to these awful acts humans seem to never stop committing against one another, so it really takes some unique circumstances to grab and hold my attention start to finish. The monsters law degree and seemingly rare intellectual gifts drew me in. It was quickly very clear that the only meaningful thing to The MOMster WAS her legal ambitions but in my opinion, this was a two bird, one stone deal for me. Any person with the capacity such as hers for inflicting boundless cruelty on the life her own body PRODUCED has no place ANYWHERE in a courtroom, or EVER representing vulnerable citizens who might have sought her services. If not for Timothy being the sacrificial lamb that thank god exposed her, who knows she herself may have even worn the robe and held the gavel. MILLIE, you were everything this case needed and you brought the most true sense of justice i've witnessed in any public trial of my lifetime. HOLD your head high always, you are not your mothers' daughter. No, no. YOU are TIMOTHYS SISTER, and you should regret nothing. You could not have honored your brother any better.

I feel so so bad for her and brother that they are feeling this way. It's natural but it's still brutal to think they are going through all this pain while their mother is in protection whilst in prison and she doesn't feel anything. This breaks my heart! Stay strong and remember your little brother for who he was x

So basically this woman is evil to the core and has been so her whole adult life, if not longer.
Hearing her daughter say they were removed from her custody by CPS, and hearing her son say that he had hoped she had changed, tells me that this kind of behavior was a pattern and certainly not the isolated phenomenon she would have had everybody believe.
Thank goodness nobody bought that crock of baloney.

I shouldn't be watching this. My 8 year old son is non verbal autistic and I can't imagine ever even slapping his hand for doing something bad...and hearing this story for the first time, i just know its going to give me nightmares... I just can't wrap my head around how a parent can do this to their own child. All I can do I guess is love and take care of my only child to the best of my abilities... But still, I wish so damn bad someone was there to save that boy before it was too late...
I feel for the 2 siblings. The only 2 people in that family that cared for him...
    Rest in eternal peace, Timothy.

I cannot imagine the angst this dear girl feels..What kind of beast could torture a child the way Timothy was ? She was evil through and through..I pray that boy is running through fields of butterflies in heaven with all the food anyone could want!

How? She was a child and was taken by CPS, so I'm assuming she was in some kind of foster care. Shandra was not legally supposed to have custody.

Have you watched the whole trial? She was a 16/17 year old abused girl living in a different state when her 15 year old abused sibling died. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Who did the kids live with for CPS to take them away?

    • @louwinters508
      @louwinters508 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

The kids were taken away in 2010 after allegations from a member of the family's church. Timothy was 2, Millie 4 Paul 6 and Logan 8.
The 3 eldest went to live relatives and Timothy went into care. The parents had regular supervised contact. In 2012 the case was settled. The kids were returned to their dad believe it or not only if Shanda moved out. If she refused or the dad refused to leave her both their rights would be terminated.
He was seen as the good one basically.
From then on she was allowed supervised contact once a month.
And looks like Logan and Millie see her as scum.
