Howdy Guys! Here is my Movie Car challenge entry! Its from the movie Hollywood Knights (1980) .. Check out the movie car that BaremetalHW built at th-cam.com/video/IkuBQ3wkHwE/w-d-xo.html . My polystyrene game is pretty weak.. It'll get better though. Hope you enjoy both videos!
You're braver than I am for sanding the trim after painting - yikes! Still going through boxes to find cars for Jimmy - looking for a couple of old Redlines. Since you are exploring paint and body techniques, may I suggest an old one from the 70's that many have never heard of? I don't know if it's possible to do it at this tiny scale, but.........lace paint.
Sideways King 75 is the absolute king of polystyrene. I'm sure you've likely seen some of his videos, but watching them will give you some awesome tips and tricks to use while working with polystyrene. His roll cages and engine modifications are truly something to strive for. I loved both videos and Baremetal's Mutt Cutts custom definitely gave my wife and I a good laugh, but your custom really is a beauty to behold. Good luck on your upcoming customs! Keep it up!!
Love how it turned out. I enjoy watching your channel. It’s cool that all the hot wheels guys support each other’s channels and have challenges with each other.
Now you’re just showing off. That’s badass . I’ve seen other restorers use masking tape inside the car, sticky side out, to hold the replacement pillars in place. Again, awesome job.
@@DiecastResurrection My hobby is working on engines, cars and lawn equipment. The flies on the walls in my shop were never safe. I have a friend that counts days since something last happened. He counts the number of days since I have last thrown a tool or engine part lol. I'm almost to 90 days this time around. lol keep up the great work.
Man, that was just an awesome build. Felt the tension of the detailing and the reward of the results after. The car is so sharp I have to give this one my vote. Baremetal is the Godfather and the man who introduced me to this world and he certainly went leftfield on his superb build to great effect but this was close to perfection.
Very Nice the 57 Chevy was always a favorite. The only minor thing was the hole left in front of the radiator. I really liked the way you brought out the chrome trim using the original casting, WELL DONE I agree with some others you guys should do the same car.
Hi Jimmy. Love your videos, the cars are a work of art when you have finished with them. You keep making videos and I'll keep watching them. Thanks you are a star.
was waiting for some bondo to come out see some sick body filling skills, but as always you astounded me with the trim tip and sanding it down to the metal, was pleasantly surprised, a ride Jimmy would be proud blub around in.
That tip on sanding the trim is great. Hope to start doing some restorations soon. Thanks to all you guys for putting out quality vids and giving inspiration. Great job on this car👍👍👍
Attention to detail is what I like in your videos, very relaxing even during the post installation for me anyway. Thanks again for another day in the life of dicast resurrection
Well done! We could cut the tension with a knife. :) The only thing you missed was the chrome trim around the windshield. Everything else looked spot on!
Wow i am impressed. That is one sweet ride. I like that you are sending out these challenges to your fellow competition. You are doing awesome on all your work and the level of skill you are bringing from your willingness to keep learning shows in each car you bring new life or meaning to. Keep up the good work. And oh yeah Challenge Accepted!!!
Great work from both of you, but maybe you should both decide on attempt the same car, that way we can see a more accurate representation of the competition of you opposing respective approaches.
@@towerblock1 it's funny you say that because the finished products make it seem the other way around. 😂 if I was a judge and saw them at face value I would have considered the mutt mobile to be the superior build because of how much more material and Fabrication it seems to have required, given the three-dimensional props.
I actually met the original owner of Milner’s car. Except we were in a virtual world called Second Life. He commissioned me to build him an Mel’s diner. Wonder if it’s still there.. hmm..
@@DiecastResurrection Haha, that's awesome. What I'm getting from this is you need to do a Diecast Resurrection of Milner's car, then build a scale Mel's Diner for Jimmy to take his date...
Without a doubt. Baremetal is great at custom work, Marty is great at salvaging from the dead, but our boy RedlineResto here is just the master of painting. It's so sharp and doesn't obscure any detail and really does look like a full size car.
When I first saw that sweet golden Chevy I though 'surely he's not going to - HE IS !! Well that work paid off great transformation and worth the effort. Thanks for sharing !
So impressed with this!! Those posts and trim.... Definitely felt the tedious frustration just from watching it. Thanks for the chrome trim tip...super awesome .
Awesome build I liked watching how you both used different techniques that normally wouldn't be done and I think you both kicked butt on this challenge.
Sick! Both of you guys kicked ass. I like his too but maybe, i dont know, some regulations might have been in order here because he 3D printed a bunch of parts and slapped them on whereas you got lemons and made lemonade. Either way, it was fun and would be cool to see more challenges.
Ok just got done watching that was a stellar restore/custom episode!!!!!!! you did just a killer job. adding the post was amazing. love to see other movie hot rods..
The looks like a car called “Project X” which was built by Popular Hot Redding magazine, and at some point it was modernized by General Motors. Cool car, loads of history. Nice work!
Super nice work my friend!! Great job on the pillars, looks like it was casted that way. Your paint is always on point! I think the mutt mobile was a 10, and your car a 9.99...both SUPER custom vehicles.

Yes this 57 is still around. It's also known as project X. Most recently it was on Hot Rod Garage. Love the car and love that movie. Awesome work man!
Awesome! I'd love to see more like this.

Fantastic Ace . Looks great 👍
The engine sounds is what makes this video amazing!
Awesome build!

I think we should all do it more often! It helps everyone.
I Love this Dude’s Personality and Voice and also his Attitude towards Tackling things!
We’ll see how you feel tomorrow.. I just bedazzled some police cruisers...
Beautiful custom!
A clear winner, fantastic👍
you guys are both so talented, hard to choose which one I like more
Brilliant piece of restoration. Yay!!
Awesome build!
Great job. It looks better and nicer as before. Well done.
Now you’re just showing off. That’s badass . I’ve seen other restorers use masking tape inside the car, sticky side out, to hold the replacement pillars in place. Again, awesome job.
That might of helped out, but I wanted mine to jam in there with friction first. Man.. if you guys could have been a fly on the wall for that segment.

You knocked this one out of the park. Awesome car.
Killer job!! The trim and door handles came out saweet!
Yeah....that came out awesome! the posts to represent the 210 was what solidified it for me
Make sure you have some beers handy if you try doing posts.. youll need em.. lol
Haha. I’m not that brave...and I think that would require more than a FEW beers lol
Man, the dialogue, the sound effects, and the amazing work has me hooked! Great job! Lots of fun! Thanks!

WOW. JUST. WOW!!!
I've always loved that car, and you have MORE than done that beauty justice!!! Excellent work, good sir... Excellent work, indeed!
Your attention ti detail is off the charts. Im slowly gathering supplies to get into this fun hobby myself.
Very nice job, Dr. Diecast.!!!
Beautiful results!👍🏼👍🏼
Beautiful my friend! The 210 sedan is one of my all time favorite Chevies! Absolutely GREAT job! Thanx for the fun! Simply great!
This is awesome I love both entries to decide a winner
Wow that's darn close and a beautiful job as always.
Great attention to detail. Definitely the winner
Great makeover, well done!...Bill
Awesome build!!! Never saw the movie, but it's on my list now!!!
Please do more of these challenge vids! I enjoyed watching both and the ‘57 turned out great!
Loving the extra detail and effort you put into this one. One of my favs. 👍
Nailed it! Door posts were worth the hassle. Awesome chrome siding and modded motor. Very nice! Gotta go watch the movie now!
I did a similar restoration with my dad but at 1:1 scale. Super nostalgic watching this.
Very Nice the 57 Chevy was always a favorite. The only minor thing was the hole left in front of the radiator. I really liked the way you brought out the chrome trim using the original casting, WELL DONE I agree with some others you guys should do the same car.
Nice work! The chrome work was interesting.
Jimmy is the clear winner here. That Mutt Cutts Van just left a lot to be desired where as the Hollywood Knights car was spot on.
Hi Jimmy. Love your videos, the cars are a work of art when you have finished with them. You keep making videos and I'll keep watching them. Thanks you are a star.
F'n nailed it!!!! Wow! That was geat! learned a few things on this one. No doubt rocked this challenge. "A" game came out.

Sweet build. Learn something new every day in the hw custom world. Gonna try the sandpaper trick on the '64 Chevy I'm working on.
I'll love to see a compilation video of the paint bubbling off all your cars when you paint strip them. Sooo satisfying.
I give you both my vote, they’re both above and beyond
Nice job, looks awesome.
That’s awesome
Awesome! You have skills brother
Thanks dude, I was stressing on that video haha

I agree, I think diecast's car was a lot more work and time put in. The mutt mobile looks good though.

I've said it before, and I will mention it again,,,,,, Your paint jobs on these little cars is simply the best of all the restorers I follow

You both did outstanding work on your respective movie cars
You got this hands down.... Beautiful transformation to the Hollywood Knights car, Props going out from your Blub#1
The finished result is a real thing of beauty. Nice one.
Project X has been around for years and it only keeps getting better!
I'm not going to lie, I loved both builds. I don't think I could pick a favorite but this one is definitely more my style. Very nice job!
I love the job on this car as a kid I remember us moving from Texas to California in a 57 so they definitely have a place in my heart.
While the paint was being removed the paint was bubbling up it looked satisfying❤♥♥
Tout simplement magnifique !
Un travail très minutieux ! Bravo !
All simply magnificent !
A very meticulous work ! Well done !
My cousin has an exact real life replica of this car. He uses it to absolutely roast tires at car shows.
When I first saw that sweet golden Chevy I though 'surely he's not going to - HE IS !! Well that work paid off great transformation and worth the effort. Thanks for sharing !
Outstanding work , well worth the effort you put in .
All the the best

I really love the way you did the trim, and the door handles. That was serious testicular fortitude.

Well there's a movie I haven't thought of in over 30 years! Nice job!
Super nice work my friend!! Great job on the pillars, looks like it was casted that way. Your paint is always on point! I think the mutt mobile was a 10, and your car a 9.99...both SUPER custom vehicles.
I freakin love the way you did that trim!
That was the most important part of the whole build, had to nail it!
Wow the body looks a lot straighter after you filed it
