Love this gear review - not just the what and why you like it, but the "how to" as well. Very helpful and especially relevant since I have a teardrop abut the same size as yours. By the way, I've had rectangle fixed awnings from ROAM since say one, and they're not any faster to set up than your Slumberjack. I've been itching to figure out away to improve on the coverage I get, and I think a Slumberjack rigged the way you showed in this video coupled with a fixed 180 just might do the trick. By the way #2 - Y'all are frequently camping in tight spots where a fixed awning isn't a good option, but I am rarely in a place where I don't have room to "spread the wings" a bit. "Mullet rig".... I love it!!!!
We purchased this same tarp last year based on your video. I actually used it to cover my deck too. After about the fourth time we used it we noticed the seams were coming apart. We called Slumberjack and they sent us a brand new one! Our second one is holding up great! So great gear and superb customer service! Thanks again for the recommendation! Love all of your videos!
I don’t think I’d mount an awning with that thing so long as you don’t mind the time. Other option is to mount an awning AND bring the slumberjack! Then you can decide which you want. Why limit? Really enjoy watching the two of you. Great places you go.
💯 agree! We did that with our Coleman but if you watched the "did we ruin our canopy" you know the answer to that 🤣 But having one mounted sounds pretty darn nice
My recommendation for the first time is to set it up at home before you're on a trip, in the rain, like I did. That and brush up on tension knots. Excellent video on an excellent product!
Gosh darn it! Now I want to return my Hasika awning! I’m liking the Slumber Jack better. Thanks for the review! I like how you explained how you set it up, too!
Nice review and love the tarp. Do you guys have problems with water on the top shelf if you leave the back hatch open in the rain? Meaning does your hinge leak when open?
Thanks! Love the new logo! As long as we keep rain off the galley hatch, it doesn't leak. The hinge is sealed from the front side so water can drip down to that side of the hinge without any issues. That's why we love the SJK because it covers that area for us and still has lots of coverage.
@@WheresWiseman I didn't know that there was dispersed camping up there. I've been to Roaring Creek several years ago. I'm moving back to the PNW this summer and you've motivated me to explore that area a bit more. Thanks for the reply.
ive been wanting one but i can't decide between screened or unscreened. would you prefer the screened version or does that seem like a hassle in itself? i am also from PNW SWW
We love our Slumberjack awing.
It doesn't get used on every trip but it goes on every trip.
💯💯💯

Thanks bud! You nailed it. There are so many situations where you can't just open an awning off the side. Love the flexibility 👌🏻
I agree it's not really any faster. I've thought about a 270, but I'm not happy about the single use, high investment.
Love the gear reviews, thank you and keep up the great work you two! Have fun as always!
Thanks! Will do!!!

This gear review was great. Especially how you detailed setup in different weather conditions and options to add to. Excellent.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Excellent idea!! 👌🏻
I love my Slumbjack. It is great. I got it last year on your recommendation. We normally camp at camp grounds and leave it up at night.
Great to hear!
I love mine! Had it for years and it’s great
Wow great idea with the bungee cords
Gotta love simple. The fancy stuff is nice but I like being able to pack everything into the back of a 2 door Jeep and go fit into anywhere.
💯💯💯

Haha! Our pleasure!
Great job Matt. Always like gear vids. And wondered about the slumberjack. So thank you.
Thank you! Our pleasure! 👌🏻
Just ordered via your link 😊. Was using tarps but this will be much nicer. It looks like it will pack a lot smaller than a large tarp.
Excellent! 👌🏼 Thanks for the support!!
Love it! I look forward to seeing all the cool gear reviews! Keep up the good work...I love watching your videos!
Thanks! Will do! 😊
Thanks for the review. Just purchased one
Our pleasure 🤘🏻
Love the versatility! Trying to figure out how I could set it up and use it on a gladiator with a rrt.
Gotta be at least 2 or 5 ways!!
I love mine. good job on the video
Thank you!! 👍🏻
love the review ! side panel would be nice , im looking for a inclosed galley tent ?
Room type setup would be amazing. Hear great things about the ARB and roam setups 👍🏻

amzn.to/3xSodCy 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@WheresWiseman Thank you!
Mullet mode!!! That’s why you guys rock. I love the stupid humor

Matt, where are you guys at in the opening frame of the video, overlooking the water?
Near stampede pass 👌🏻

Great option, just personal preference. If we feel the need we'll just use bug repellant 👍🏻
I LOVE my slumber Jack tarp for all the reasons you listed - it’s versatility!!
❤️👍🏻
What lights are you using with the tarp?
amzn.to/3VIYgxa Love them 👍🏻
Where is the center pole from?
Love these things!! amzn.to/3XY2K55
what stakes are you using at 4:21 ?
Love these things!!! amzn.to/3Zftzmx
what will happen if you cut a hole in the slumber jack? 😉
Rain pancho that will only fit a squatch lol
It’s Wednesday! Where’s your new gear video? 😆
So many videos, so little time! More coming soon!!
