I am surprised to see how good it is underneath. For a 20 year old car. The paint work is spot on. Nice and informative video. Please make a video on miles per gallon on motorway and in the city.
Great video Iconic Brands once again! Love the jag. But i was wondering something, as i am going to drive in a years time and i was thinking of getting a jaguar x type or s type as my first car. I know its a bit bold and far reacting but its a car that i love and my dad had a jag for a while and i loved it! but is it good as my first car? Or should i go for something else because i am a big jag fan and classic car fan too! thank you. and great video!👍
Purely subjective , however you sound like you have a lot of desire to own one of these cars As a first car for you maybe ? I’ve heard insurance levels are lower for younger people do your homework and why not but not if you’re looking for economic as the v6 isn’t cheap to run but is to buy at the moment Good luck
as an owner of one, make sure you check and make sure water does not touch the tcm and check behind the front wheel well where water with cuase serious problems !!!!
I brought on of these new in 2009, I didn’t appreciate it back then. I have very strong itch to buy one again to tinker with like this. For now this video has helped the itch 😆. Loved it.
Hi.l have a 2.2d. 06 plate .only done 15000m immaculate condition. Im getting 38.3.around town 47.8 on.the m.way. to me, it's a car with class. He's named mick jagcar.😅 .
I bought two over the last 10 years, both manual transmission. Midsize comfortable car that is sporty and comes with a manual transmission. Could buy a BMW for twice the cost with high mantainance cost or an x type.
Bought my 2005 xtype gold for 2 grand....best decision I made...blast to drive, had 150 thou miles on it,all options cept sat nav, easy to work on ,even came with original rims n spare, all original paperwork and original jag folder , brochures n card from dealer.
I bought one almost exactly the same just yesterday (06/06/2024) and I've yet to collect it from the (private) seller. Went for a test drive (took me a few minutes to get used to auto's again) and was delighted. It's the 3.0 Sovereign AWD model (2007) and it cost me £1,900. The insurance will be an extra £260 on top of what I was paying for my (manual) 2005 Volvo S80 D5 SE Lux and it would have been considerably more if I wasn't registered as disabled (Blue Badge etc). The Volvo has now done 144,460 miles and the Jag has done only 68,770 miles. The main reason for the change though was the switch from manual to automatic because of my disability. The Jag is smaller of course, but the grab-handle over the drivers door helped me to get in (and out). However, I'm not looking forward to the huge increase in fuel consumption from a 2.4L Turbo diesel (average 44mpg) to a 3.0L V6 (average - no idea). Can't have it all ways though, I guess..!!
Exactly, the lowest value they will be, and if been looked after, quite reliable and still a good looking car, I'm torn at moment between x type and s type, just a weekend car
Hi I’ve owned both s and x the only problem with x type is if you do your own mechanics like I do then the transverse engine with the all wheel drive system is a bit of a pain, just like the old mini engine which were originally built as an inline engine!
You NEED a manual S-type 3.0, Trust me on this I've owned one and currently have a 2.5 S-type sport manual. Plans are afoot for a breathed on 3.0 for it 😎
Yes it is be careful the sills are repairable of course and can be factored into the cost if they become classic then as time passes the x type will be worth fixing from a financial standpoint
Hi Not really as I work from home and I’m a believer that because of the bargain prices of these cars it more than makes up for the cost of buying fuel
I hope the previous owners can see this video, to see that you are looking after it. That may help them after being upset seeing you drive it away!
I had an X 2.5 and I had to sell it, the back seat squeaked so loud I couldn't stand it.

The car does like fuel however when you consider what you paid for the car it helps . Happy motoring

Both X and S good value great cars buy carefully and you will not regret it good luck and thanks for watching the video more to come!!

Thanks for sharing. Thinking of getting one similar price, just concerned about the sills, that seems to be the Xtype achilles heel.

Together with the Arnage.. Two of my favorite classy looking cars..
Certainly a great looking car
Name app to buy?
I’m guessing you mean where to buy a Jaguar x type ?
Love these cars
Absolute steal. Mine was written off whilst parked last year. A beautiful motor, I still miss it. That’s gotta be a keeper.
Do they have Bluetooth audio?
No Bluetooth as standard car was made before it became popular
Same colour and engine as my first X type
Do you spend a lot on fuel? Lovely car. Classic.
