    These short, practical videos are my absolute fave. I know it's wing chun/tai chi/kung fu, but it's brief practicality is very WW2 Army combatives/Krav Maga. Good gross motor information that can be utilized imo.👍

      thanks for your awesome feedback! I'm glad to hear you enjoy the practical approach of our videos. It’s fascinating how Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Kung Fu can align with the principles of WWII Army combatives and Krav Maga. These arts emphasize gross motor skills and practical application, making them effective for real-world self-defense situations.
      As you continue your training, remember, "The way you do anything is the way you do everything." This mindset can enhance your practice across all martial arts.
      For more insights on applying these principles in self-defense, check out our video on “Practical Self-defense Techniques.” And if you're interested in deepening your skills, we have a special seminar coming up-details

    Thank you Master Wong. I was practicing my kicks for many years but I developed bad Arthritis in my left knee from sports injuries and automobile accidents. I had a Total knee replacement operation last summer. I have been working out almost every day to rebuild the strength and flexibility back up. My knee still hurts, because I push myself to the limits, but I was also going to physical therapy and I had supervision and regimented exercising. I actually helped brake up a fight between two ladies in a Nightclub a few weeks ago and I had to help the Bouncers/Security because I was right there were it began and I had to prevent anyone else from being accidentally hit, pushed or shoved

      Hi there! It's great to hear that you find Wing Chun applicable to real-life situations. Master Chien always emphasized that true mastery comes from understanding and adapting techniques to your environment. @@masterwong101 hmmm, if I had to pick an area of improvement...
      I'd personally pick defense against multiple attackers.
      It's kind of hard to really practice it😅

      Then you know very little about fighting because Muay Thai fighters do this far better than any Wing Chun specialist. You seem to think choreographed demonstrations are legit when they're not. Wing Chun specialist are getting bodied in no rules fights against other styles.
      If you want to deal with multiple attackers take up boxing to increase your punching power, but fighting multiple attackers isn't always realistic. Just run and make sure you're physically fit.

    I was finally able to watch this video. Thank you, Shifu Wong and company. Not only was it educational, but it was extremely fun. Energetic, and I do want to say that me being an older gentleman if I do have confrontation, I use that knee kick a lot because it allows me to come in with multiple wing chun Strikes and blocks. Thank you for the passed on knowledge and also brightening my day with some laughter early in the morning 🌄

    Very practical Sifu, as you say the situation and distancing very important, whether trained or untrained. But if they have had karate, mma, muay thai the kicks can be deadly, but if they cant get in - helps self defence. Also watching their elbows, and shoulder movements could help with distancing too, what you think Sifu?
    Blessings to You and Kieren, liked the humour too...

As for self-defense, many students find the mental aspect-like staying calm under pressure-the most challenging. Master Chien always emphasized that true mastery comes from discipline and focus. Greetings Master Wong. I'm russian. In Russia we have a problem and the problem is United States nuclear missiles. Can you teach me how to defend against them? Thank you.
    Yes. I know that you will say to me a thing that is called Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons but this treaty solves the problem. And I don't want to solve the problem, I want defense. Thank you, Master Wong.

    • @masterwong101
      @masterwong101  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi there! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and concerns. I understand the seriousness of the situation regarding nuclear weapons and your desire for a sense of defense. While martial arts and personal growth strategies are essential for individual empowerment, defense against such global issues requires collective efforts and strategic thinking at various levels.
      Master Chien always emphasized that true mastery involves understanding our environment and preparing ourselves mentally and physically. While we can't offer direct solutions to such complex geopolitical issues, focusing on personal growth and resilience is vital. Consider exploring practices like Tai Chi and meditation to cultivate inner strength and calmness amidst uncertainty.
