An 8 bit doom sounds pretty cool. I can imagine a side scroller where you'd be shooting lots demons with your different weapons. Maybe something like Metroid (but with a map).
8bit doomguy has some pretty good reaction time, being able to immediatly start shooting at a zombie that appears inches in front of him and almost gets to his face
I have used for my The Urania Experiment, a scrapped mod which had different mechanics of ammo, weapons, and most important: music! Plays in E1M7, E3M5 and E4M1.

I thought they looked a bit different.. 2) Taking a guess here but the 3 enemies from Doom these sprites are representing are: Lost Soul, Zombie Soldier and Hell Baron (or Cyberdemon)? 3) Are you planning to 8-bit some more Doom tunes?

I don't think Doomguy should be entirely shirtless. I suppose that in this case it was inevitable given the fact that you are using Contra's protagonist, about which I couldn't mind less, especially with such an 8-bit banger like this one.
