Thank you for that! All the years I've been squirrel hunting, and videos I watched, I never hear of a nest called a DREY. Guess you learn something new everyday!
Very good video Vinnie. Looked like a great time. Maybe there was no game for you, but camping is a great outing. Benjamin looked like he learned some new things, bet he was excited! All in all the camping looked great, and anything added to that is a plus. Be Safe, and God Bless!
That's what it all about Vinnie just being out in the woods and showing em little things I take my grandkids outside evening if it's just showing em different kind of birds
If you ever try to look for woodcock again Vinny, take a lap in some really soft and watery areas in the woods; they won’t be IN standing water but they’ll be near it. They especially like young tree growth that’s kind of thick, and if there are any levees or ridges that are kind of wet, those are good too. The key is to treat it like a timber snipe: always find lots of moisture
dude I would've been on my phone and setting up a relay to get my dog! how do you forget the STAR of the channel. yeah man we don't need any working brush fires! so far awesome video.
A great video would be of you using that potty training toilet 😂😂. Woodcock prefer the wood line. Early morning, late evening around water. Still a good video 👍👍
I've been sick as a dog, but managed to get out 1 day last weekend with my Springer Spaniel and squirrel dog. We flushed 21 individual woodcock that I put eyes on, and a bunch of others I couldn't see. My friend hunted a different set of covers in the same area and had 40 some contacts with 26 points. Wish you could have made it out to East TX this year with Waylon this year. We would have put him on birds for sure.
Keep on making great content. We have woodcock here in NW FL and snipe are further South. I have always found woodcocks in wet open areas...not in high grass. Their bills have cartilage in the tips where they gather worms. So, if you know anythung about worm grunting or fiddling for worms...that's the environment you're looking for. Their crops will be filled with nothing but worms...tons and tons of worms.
Hey Vinnie , I hooe u jave some deep stakes, wouldn't want you to pull a Dorothy 🫢. It's hard when your already out there but for the future. My buddy hunted Woodcock faithfully. They are very fast so you gotta step lightly and carry a big stick if you know what I mean🤭. Great shooting Benjamin 🎉. JO JO IN VT 💞
