If you have dp problem because myrtle can't give you enough dp in time. Just use a single block vanguard to block the 1st fox at the blue box and then the aoe guard. As i said in the video, you can swap melantha into any ground unit, and you still have 1 extra slot, so maybe another vanguard?
Playing through the rerun and did this stage with Hoshiguma (whom I didn't have for the event before). I used her as the last Defender to stall, she dodged each explosion with her first talent so I never had to replace her. Good RNG! :D
oh my goddddddddt even with your tutorial it took me AGES to clear this stage, my Surtr wasn't able to get the skill up fast enough to kill the kongs (not m3 yet) so the timing was hell and I ended up having to use a friend's Surtr but FINALLY did it agghhhh thank you I'm so glad this stage is down
Or if you want to keep the defender alive a bit longer, use the skill when the boss' shield is active. I did that on the event stage and Matterhorn survive the after-shield attack.
Well Mattethorn is useful for receiving arts damage, while Cuora and Beagle for receiving physical damage. Even if Cuora and Beagle use their skill it won't do anything unless it have max hp buff
Amiya can also survive with skill 1 arts dodge but it's so RNG. Mudrock on other with her sheild on can tank the 5K damage as if it's an ordinary attack.

Stall the boss with Mudrock at the end and everytime he pops his shield up, retreat all dps except Mudrock, wait 3s and use Mudrock's S3. After the Boss Shield explodes on his own, bring back the dps.
It's really easy if you got the box, my quintuple sniper squad pinned the dragon down so hard he couldn't get a single shield up. I'm talking Platinum, Provence, Andreana, Schwarz and Firewatch (all M3 E2lvl20) levels of firepower.
And that CC had come and gone in Global, was pretty polarizing (hee hee). To achieve R18, you had to choose between super buffing the normal mobs, or super buffing Free. Free as a boss is already powerful even defanged, so I def chose the mobs, which could be worked around. Buffing Free meant it just 1 shot nearly everything. Incidentally, w my tags, I didn't even need to use a single firecracker til the end, just to line up w the boss's phase 2 color. That was it. It was more of a bully Free CC instead of Hui and Ming 2.0.
My least favorite things about these kinds of stages, besides the occasional asinine design choices, irritating challenge requirements, or just frustrating elements that are not fun, is having to borrow a friend unit and you have to go through all your "refreshes" until you find the right one, even though you know half your friends list has the Surtr you need (or whoever suits the stage). Then if you mess up during the run, it refreshes the list again. So that one Surtr you had that was exactly what you needed, is replaced by a bunch of not-Surtrs and if there is a Surtr, her skill is set to lvl 1 as a "recommended" friend. Now you either wait another day or spend your real life sanity doing other stages to get a new list, hoping the next time Surtr is there. (Yesterday I used all my refreshes trying to get Surtr for this strategy, because mine is not developed enough. Not a single one showed up. So not only are you frustrated that you came close, or something went wrong you didn't expect, but now you can't just try it again immediately.

Went into this: me too lazy to think, Ill follow Kyo About halfway into video: man, his strats hurt my brain, bring Schwarz Rosa Warfarin Surtr SA and blow the boss on the first bend. Twice. That should do. And that did!
I had to make a lot of adjustments to compensate for my weaker operators. Using a combination of both KyoStinV's and Eckogen's runs. Ended up using: Eyja E2S3 Siege E1S2 Courrier E1S1 Kroos E1S1 Meteor E1S1 Saria E2S3 Myrtle E2S1 Sussuro E2S2 Silence E1S2 Liskarm E1S1 Surtr E2S3 Lancet-2 (The little droid vital for keeping the vanguard alive long enough for the DP to deploy Sussurro) Brought a Support Unit, Hoshiguma on the normal run. Strat worked too in Challenge mode with no adjustments except I brought a Mudrock from the support unit since the list resets all the time -_- Thanks for helping me fully complete my first ever event in Arknights!

You also can use Eyjafjalla S3M3 in the middle (should be black one) and it becomes much easier to kill all strong enemies UPD: For the fast boi's you need to place her below the blue box (white color) and use firework to change color on left or right side (choose the opposite color). For the big boys you can simply place her in the middle between blue and red box and just spawncamp them until Eyja's skill activation
Take note that its better to match the monkey's attributes to allow your defenders to survive. Just two of those monkeys are enough to take out E2 Lvl 70 Saria.

omg coming back to this because my auto deploy was messed up and had e2lvl50 blemi with s3 on the very bottom row forgetting she wouldn't be getting healing, she survived somehow just to the very end of the stage n at that point i could just replace her with my vanguard but hot damn i cant believe she tanked the whole way through like that T_T

oh boy this was hard, I tried to Kill Free fast to save the trouble later but was having issues with that strat. tried to tank and hold but nothing was working so cheers for this. Advice if for you use hoshiguma she can tank through the shield bomb and she honestly helps alot and instead of melantha use Vigna or Reed to save dp. i also used Cheobe to help damage at critical times if you find the enemies aren't dying fast enough so i would say any caster should do the job but an Amiya with 3rd skill in the right place could work too.
I skipped the entire stalling portion of the 2nd phase of the boss by deploying bagpipe (s3 r7) and eyja (s2 m3) to kill the entire first phase without surtr. Eyja s3 r7 probably works just as well if not better. After it switched to 2nd phase i used surtr along with eyja and bagpipe to kill it before it even killed my defender
Don't work for me. Spend time for many tries, but Surtr from support on 80lvl with skill 7 kill them too slow. I must keep her till last second and cooldown is too long. For 2nd phase this devil kills gavel before Surtr ult kills him, and sometimes Surtr can be killed without healers ult. Have no idea how to do that. I will try to search Surtr with higher skill.

For those who has Mudrock available, She can solo the boss stalling phase without being replaced for those who are wondering... Edit: Can't stall infinitely in 2nd phase but can still stall long enough for the next operator

I came from future, for last stall boss you can just use high HP operator (Matoimaru) since I don't know why but the boss can't even one shot her lol. Which let surtr at the back and start pounding (work for cm too)

So I'm not entirely sure why but my E1 60 Matterhorn (without his skill active) survived Free's second form shielded attack. Beind the same "colour" might have helped. Therefore there is probably some way to get Matterhorn or Asbestos (some other high HP+Res Defender?) to the point (maybe with Shining?) that they could reasonably survive his attacks.
A quick solution might be to try and E2 Gravel, since she uses materials that drop in this event. You just need 5 specialist chip packs after that (the higher tier kind). Good luck to you, Doctor!
Amiya (Guard) can survive the boss attack with skill 1 arts dodge and can possibly kill the boss, I used Amiya with Surtr but Amiya deals decent damage against the boss alone. Mudrock on other with her sheild on can tank the 5K damage as if it's just an ordinary attack.
I must be a special kind of stupid cause even when watching this guide i don't get it. You'd think by making a higher end squad it'd be easier but NOPE. I can't deploy fast enough. I've looked at some high end runs and i'm missing characters or my dps is too low. I hate this level

I don’t have Myrtle at a high level, so the DP needed for this level is impossible for me, because either I use two normal vanguards and I don’t have enough for Popukar, or I use a normal vanguard and a single block, I still don’t have enough. Every other solution I’ve tried results in leaks and/or dead operators. I was really hoping to get all the medals, but it’s just impossible
@@theaspie3121 I managed to clear it, but now I'm stuck on CM of this damn level lol. Best of luck man. When all thats left is Free I threw all caution to the wind. Mudrock skill 3 helps tank the shield explosion he does, at the cost of him moving a bit forward so need to account for that.

Free's shield explosion appears to be physical damage. My 80 Hoshiguma with S3M3 active survived with slightly under half hp.

fun fact: daddy Saria (mines level 80) can survive the weird shield explosion bc she has over 3k HP, so use her instead of Quora if you can

Tips: You can put Myrtle down first and get DP a little faster.

Mine was E2lv90, S2 no mastery, I use her to stall the boss and she was basically immortal lol
in early phase, Siege /Saga AOE skill pretty much can solve enemy leaking though problem
At first glance looks very easy, but actually much harder than it looks. Because the explosion keep changing the yin yang.

Amiya (Guard) can survive the boss attack with skill 1 arts dodge and can possibly kill the boss, I used Amiya with Surtr but Amiya deals decent damage against the boss alone. Mudrock on other with her sheild on can tank the 5K damage as if it's just an ordinary attack.
Already beat the stage but not the medal condition :( Anyway thx for the video Kyo!

I must be a special kind of stupid cause even when watching this guide i don't get it. You'd think by making a higher end squad it'd be easier but NOPE. I can't deploy fast enough. I've looked at some high end runs and i'm missing characters or my dps is too low. I hate this level
Same. I don’t have Myrtle at a high level, so the DP needed for this level is impossible for me, because either I use two normal vanguards and I don’t have enough for Popukar, or I use a normal vanguard and a single block, I still don’t have enough. Every other solution I’ve tried results in leaks and/or dead operators. I was really hoping to get all the medals, but it’s just impossible
@@theaspie3121 I managed to clear it, but now I'm stuck on CM of this damn level lol. Best of luck man. When all thats left is Free I threw all caution to the wind. Mudrock skill 3 helps tank the shield explosion he does, at the cost of him moving a bit forward so need to account for that.

The "Free" enemy keeps skipping the shield attack on the bottom and instead using it on the top corner.
